[Spoilers] List of scenario unlocks, specifically for firearms.

Liberty's Edge

Hey there everyone!

I would love to know if a list exists of each of the current scenarios and their unlocks or if someone could please tell me which scenarios unlock firearms. I really appreciate it!

Scarab Sages 3/5

...

Nothing unlocks firearms. You want a firearm, make a gunslinger.

Asking for that kind of info is generally frowned upon, but given as this is so high level, I'll throw you a bone.

Shattered star adventure path, part 3, for levels 9-11, has a pair of masterwork pistols.

Thanks for that. If that is the only unlock for a gunslinger to get another gun then it seems to give little reason for someone to actually make a gunslinger in PFS.

"Equipment: No firearm sized Large or larger is available for purchase. The double hackbut and culverin on Table 3–4 and advanced firearms on Table 3–5 and are not permitted in Pathfinder Society Organized Play. No character may purchase a firearm unless she possesses the Gunsmithing feat and firearms are never considered Always Available; a character must possess enough Fame to purchase any firearm not found on a Chronicle sheet or granted by a class feature. All ammunition except metal cartridges may be purchased."

I must have misread this, my assumption was that I could never purchase a firearm that wasn't unlocked by a scenario but now I see that as long as I have the prestige to match its price I can buy it.

Thanks for helping me clear that up in your own... less than empathetic way Duiker.

Scarab Sages 3/5

I feel like you are misunderstanding how equipment works in PFS, though if I'm mistaken, I apologize. If you are a gunslinger, you start at level one with a gun. There is no need to have something unlock it for you. When you have enough gold and prestige you can pay to have it upgraded. You don't need a 9th level chronicle sheet from an AP in order to get the gear for your class.

Scarab Sages 3/5

Looks like we simul-posted those last ones. No lack of empathy was intended, I was just giving the simplest and most direct answer. Apologies if it came across as overly blunt.

Also, don't gunslingers just get Gunsmithing, and therefore their own private way around the unavailability of guns?

Sounds like this is a question specifically about PFS.

I think people read the term "unlock" and assume that the writer is expecting a MASS EFFECT 2 style (read: restrictive and arbitrary) weapon upgrade system in a game that exists largely in the imagination of its players.

Like, unlock yourself from the burdens of the rules, n' stuff, you square.

No worries, and you are right. I am not very familiar with the way that equipment becomes available. I am still new to the PFS and I appreciate the feedback.

Basically you can buy anything you want so long as its value is under what you can buy with your current fame. The Always Available stuff just means you can buy it whenever so long as you have the gold regardless of your fame.

Fixed that for you.

You can buy guns, bullets, powder galore!

you can buy a bayonet even, though it's ridiculously useless

But aside from the one MW Pistol cited I doubt you'll ever see a firearm of any type on a chronicle sheet. No bullets either.

BUT. You can get all sorts of Firearms that your prestige can afford. And there are a few gear boons you can use to 'award' yourself a firearm.

Spoiler:

For example Fortress of the Nail. I got a MW double barrel musket.
It call her the 'Countess' because like her giver, she's a loud strumpet wench that is always drawing attention.

My Pistoleros just got two 'hideaway' guns with PP. A coat pistol and dagger-pistol.

Rumor has it one of the season 6 scenarios has a laser gun on the chronicle. But I wouldn't count that because it has very limited usage.

While nifty and shiny, I don't consider any limited use 'pistol' as anything but a limited charge 'wand'. Something to buy and enjoy while I have it. I don't consider it a weapon like..say a +1 Keen Composite Longbow that has much more mileage of use.

That being said, I will get the Laser if I encounter it and have a pew-pew blast with it while I have it. ;).

I fondly recall one of my retainers blowing himself up with a grenade in Barrier peaks and our fighter never figuring out how to close the power armor.

If you're looking to make a Gunslinger, THIS may also be of use to you.
