From emails I've received today, it sounds like the vast majority of remaining description tooltips should be showing up in the next build.

I asked for details. I will mouse over that post in the near future to see what's there.

What would be awesome longterm is not just tooltips but interactive/dynamic ones.

For example equip an armor - then hover over unbreakable/crusader/evangelist and have any matching keywords highlighted in green etc etc

With how important keywords are dynamic tool tips seem almost necessary to me, and not just with feats. It would make getting the class achievements so much easier if you could see what feats you had / qualified for already on the achievement itself.

Even something like the somewhat clunky EVE fitting window where hovering over a module shows the effect on the main ship stats would help.

In pathfinder that would translate to the basic stats from the character screen appearing next to the "doll" and changing as you hovered over equipment in the inventory or feats. You could then SEE what the effect of changing from Unbreakable slotted to Crusader slotted will have with your current armor for example.

Tooltips I think are the #1 anticipated new thing for each new alpha weekend so that is great to hear. Is it possible to get specific confirmation that:

1) Keywords of feats and gear will be included in the tool tips so we can start matching them up in our builds

Yes. (If not, I missed one.)

2) Trainers will have full tool tips

Depends on how full you mean by "full." smile Until we get smarter programmatic linking, I basically had to paste the description I assembled via formula in my combat data spreadsheet into the feat advancement spreadsheet. So it will include whatever seemed both relevant and unlikely to be overkill for a tooltip. We'll iterate in more data over time.

3) Prime Attributes (the one increased when it's trained) will be listed with each feat and skill
This is one of those things we'll have to iterate in over time. The description field is currently dumb text that has to apply to the feat as a whole, rather than individual levels, so unfortunately I can't grab this data in an easy to use format.

I think it would already be very helpfull if it just said (Int) or (Con)somewhere in the description. Would that be possible?

I replied the same thing in the thread I'm quoting from.

I honestly thought more people would be bouncing off the walls excited that we're getting tool tips, with as much griping about their absence as there's been.

Yep, we CAN specify which ability it raises, just not by how much, so Lee is adding that presently.

I am extremely happy about it. I almost had an accident. ;)

I also noticed (and was pleased) that I had no problems trading and no bugged/lost characters last week. There were imporovements in some areas.

I am all for tooltips that help us play, but it is really low-hanging fruit. I hope these sorts of things do not take too much time away from really challenging stuff

I lost my first because it was so very easy to hit the Delete-button-with-no-confirmation accidentally...oopsie.

Goblin Squad Member

They make that button so big and tempting to hit.

On the other hand, every time I fked up and accidentally fatfingered 4 or 6 I lost 500 Reputation when trying to heal. Delete being so large made is very convenient to throw Carbon Mk.1-3 away.

We can rebuild him, We have the Experience.

Oh, I hit myself *so* many times when trying to heal myself. One more thing to learn to watch for...silly dynamic :-).

lol - I managed to heal the target a few times as well.

It doesn't help when the spells rearrange themselves when you unequip and re-equip the Battle Focus.
