Is there a way to have a default shipping method other than cheapest possible?

Website Feedback

I seem to remember that I used to be able to set USPS Priority Mail as my default option but since the most recent website upgrade, the site seems to automatically default to the cheapest possible.

I can change it manually, but I've had some situations (I think) where I placed an order with a couple of items shipping USPS Priority and when one was delayed for some reason the rest of the order shipped standard mail.

I'd like to be able to tell the system to default to quickest possible, even though I'll adjust it from time to time. Can I still do that?

Id give a lung to have my stuff delivered by DHL :(
My local carriers take almost two months (if lucky) to deliver paizo's packages.

Yeah, me too. DHL offer a far superior service, in my experience (at least for large packages sent express from the US to Australia) - cheaper, quicker and with tracking.

I nag vic about it roughly annually (and he explains why it's no good for them). I'm hoping things will change eventually.

Well, then he got another customer to nag him about it.

See, here in brazil we got a terrible local carrier, stuff gets delayed and i see my orders from paizo (on average) 40 to 60 days after they have been shipped, most of it on some local warehouse gathering dust.
And we cant track our packages without a tracking number, they simply will give us no info about it.

On the other hand, most of my orders from amazon will be delived by DHL, not only they deliver it in my hands, but they offer a tracking method, and will call my personal number if it happens that im not at home to recieve it. Also, orders normally take between 5 to 10 days to arrive.

I had to cancel so many orders that got lost or returned (or wrongly taxed) when they didnt get delivered by DHL that i lost count, from amazon or other sites. I have one pending order right now from paizo, about 4-5 months late already.

I am just sharing my thoughts because im 50/50 between cancelling my subs and buying the books from amazon instead. But i love paizo, so i wont.

I'm glad I'm not the only one (I don't usually get much support for the idea). :)

The problem we run into is that for most people cost is paramount and for most people the options paizo provide are cheaper than the corresponding DHL service (that's not true for priority, international shipping but I think that's a pretty small segment if the market). Paizo also get volume discounts, so if they just increase the number of shipping options then everyone pays more - that might suit me, but it wouldn't make me popular at parties. :p

I'm afraid I don't dare open my settings to try to change them now! :-P

Mine defaulted to "cheapest", which was almost always the U.S. Postal Service, which was out-and-out awesome until we moved onto what one resident described as a "training route". Now calling the service "unreliable" would be a compliment.

So I switched my preference to UPS ground, and that's stuck so far... But as I said, I haven't opened that preference since I changed it, and now I dare not...
