For all of those levels you get to propose and work alongside to some degree. I imagine you could be more involved in the 250 level, but honestly Interjection is awesome for taking feedback and making stuff work, usually better than the original idea.
See Edgewalker and Cartomancer for examples which were ideas for classes tossed to him and he turned them into something truly awesome.

I missed this the first time I read through the KickStarter page:
Voidstalker - This archetype for the ethermagus base class exists for the sole reason that a base class with a glowy beam weapon is going to make people want a double-ended glowy beam weapon.
We were talking about what we had and what we needed and under ethermagus was "Darth Maul archetype."
So that had to happen. Had to happen.
He's going to be fun to play. I'm looking forward to writing his NPC entry. Kind of a rogue/scout sort of class that's focused 100% on the voidblade instead of worrying about any other the other etherhearts. I think I might make the NPC an assassin. I will be pleased to know how many parties he murders.
EDIT: Broke $1000! Utterly incredible, you guys.

I'm very glad to see that you've already got more than 50% of the goal pledged!
I'm also thrilled to see Jason's working on this project. :)
And I guess I can now reveal that I'm publishing an interview with Bradley at A Sword for Hire in a week or so! :)

Say, if someone backing for a $100+ level pledge has some 3rd-party freelancing experience, would it be plausible for them to be a bit more direct in the assistance of the creation of the new content? Not directly write it, but be a bit more in-depth with stuff? (I ask because I've done some freelancing in the past and am helping design a class for Liber Influxus Communis through a similar pledge type)
What, reduce my workload and reduce my part in that one from designer to part-designer/part-editor? Yeah, sure, I have zero problems with that, though it'll leave this bad taste in my mouth like I should be paying you rather than what we're doing.
Contact me with the base idea and the class that's going to get the subsystem. I'll send you an overview of the "color pie" of the class so we can add something new without blurring its defining strengths and weaknesses.
Of course, we can blur that line all day if the opportunity cost is high enough!

Aye, that little thing actually existed as "Darth Maul Archetype" on our Google Drive for the first few days of its existence.
I know, right? I've got to do these things more often! Tinker book, the subterranean Nightmares of a Dead God campaign setting... print ALL the things!

Hello there! Strange Magic is currently 70% of the way toward being funded. Of that money, about $1,000 of that cash is directly attributed to Paizo.com, so, this thread. Thank you, thank you!
Now, what's significantly more exciting from a "growing the business" standpoint (as opposed to a a "fund this project" standpoint) is that 25% of backers so far have found me through Kickstarter search and advanced discovery. These are brand new people to the Interjection Games brand, and, by delivering a superior product, I hope to convert these people to the next initial tidal wave, meaning better quality and more content until, some day, having one of my class books next to a Frog God Games setting book creates a black hole and ends all human life as we know it.
It's a beautiful vision, is it not? If you'd like to help, here's what you can do! Simply chat up a bit in the comments section of the Kickstarter campaign!
I was a lurker of the Erfworld Book 3 Kickstarter, and it was revealed there that comments push you up on the search rankings. Six per day was their key number, but the number required increases as a Kickstarter wears on. And let's face it, if Interjection Games can secure another 203 new people in the remaining 29 days of this Kickstarter, that's going to be the best influx of word-of-mouth patrons since the tinker itself.
If you have the time, please help!

I am backer #31!
I'm a bit annoyed with myself because I was traveling all day so I missed the opportunity to be one of the first 10 backers.
On the other hand, I'm glad that 30 people got to it before me, since it means there is support behind this project.

Word of mouth? Sounds like a job for a Truenamer!:D

Thanks again, chief! I'm going to go start rounding up more artists. Gonna need them.

Speak not of the Cartomancer! It must be... reborn. Yes, reborn...
Praise the Edgewalker all you want, though. That one surprised the hell out of me with how good it turned out. Thanks to you, of course.

I would so very much love to see the Cartomancer reborn. For Edgewalker, the idea was mostly Preston though I was really pleased myself that it turned out as well as it did. The games we've played with it have been a lot of fun and they have plenty of tricks that separate them from similar role characters.

I've been thinking about this, mate, and once we're funded, I'd be happy to take a Paypal contribution in the amount of any of the backer levels and count it toward stretch goals. Would that work for you?
I've seen a lot of KS's do exactly this. It's really a great thing, especially for those people who aren't able to use KS's default Amazon Payments thing for backing. It means a little bit of extra work for Brad (keeping track of where the actual status is with all of the 'shadow backers' for stretch goal purposes), and those same 'shadow backers' won't be able to comment in the comments section, but it can only help the project blast through stretch goals.
EDIT: in case it wasn't clear, the Bold was my emphasis.
Also, it makes things slightly sweeter for Interjection Games, since KS doesn't get a cut from Paypal backers...

I couldn't be more excited about the archetypes rolling down from the higher pledge levels. Not only do we have a maestro archetype that completely redefines how scores are conducted, a score / verse / bridge triad that synergizes with the existing refrain system, but we're also getting an ethermancer/healer.
We'll have a formal update once I have one or two more finished, and will be preparing a PDF of the best of the archetypes ASAP. The way I see it, there's no reason not to get these cool ideas onto the game table long before February.
It'll be great, we need to reach funding first though! We're so close already too.
I wouldn't worry about it right now, mate. People are out camping and enjoying the federally-mandated last hurrah of summer. That's more important than a book that has four weeks left to go.

Good morning, everyone. We're 90% of the way to being funded - let's knock out that remaining 10% and start going Rita Repulsa on this thing!
If you're a $95+ backer and want to help this thing grow further, all you have to do is e-mail me at interjectiongames@gmail.com with your archetype or prestige class idea so I can produce that for you.
Why does this help? Simple. Over 2,000 people have used OneBookShelf to pick up Interjection Games products since 2012, and I've only seen two of the regulars from that platform find the Kickstarter so far. As OneBookShelf does not allow me to direct to external websites with their mailing service, the workaround is to release a teaser PDF, direct to the PDF using the mailing list, and have the PDF direct to the Kickstarter. I feel the best teaser content would be the products of the fanbase's imagination, as I'm already seeing some wonderfully deviant design requests.
If you are currently uncertain as to what would be a good request to make because the new content hasn't been shown yet, I am happy to let you dig through the Strange Magic Development Google Drive. Be warned, we tend to swear around capstones.

Are you thinking about including the Herbalist or Tinkerer in this? Those are 2 of my favorite things that you have produced so far. I have to admit the Tinkerer seems like it should be it's own book, but better to be included in a compilation than not done at all.
Interjection Games |
The tinker is pretty much a 0% chance, as it really does deserve it own book, and kamikaze dice, and pads of automaton character sheets, and maybe some miniatures if I can afford a sculptor.
The herbalist is a weak chance, but gets stronger if people are willing to let me go with a content-centric model that removes the colorization of the internal art and replaces it with more words. Still, if edgewalker/antipodist/herbalist/brewmaster get added to Strange Magic, we're looking at a $40 PDF, and I'm not sure how open people are to that. Even Deep Magic is only $25.
Changing Man |
Here's an idea for you, sir. How would you react to another book sometime in the future with the herbalist, the brewmaster, and some yet-to-be-designed plant-centric base class? (Off the top of my head, a battle-baker)
... AND, backed. Oh wait, it hasn't been released yet. Well, pooh. Guess I'll have to wait, then.

Just a quick note: another KS I backed sent out an e-mail via OneBookShelf announcing a pwyw (or free) pdf teaser for a paper-mini project they were doing via KS. The OBS pdf was complete in-and-of-itself, of course, but if it hadn't been for that announcement & the advertisement in the file, I wouldn't have learned of the KS.
Perhaps you could do something similar with the classes for Strange Magic; Truename already has a freebie intro file, but the others don't afaik. That would enable you to send out e-mails, and also kind of show some persons who haven't used the three products from SM what they're missing out on. Also, it allows you to use material you already have, so you don't need to write anything new at this moment (and you can use what you already know is rock-solid). Just an idea :)
Silver Griffin |
I am definitely interested in a herbalist, brewer & plant/grower based book. Maybe the plaguewright unless you have a better idea for a new class to include.
I am more interested in a Tinkerer book though. Not that there isn't a lot of good stuff for it, but I would really love to see lots more come out for that class. I assume that wold also get Gadgateer stuff.
Then again maybe I should stop bringing up future projects until this one is done. :)

And thanks to a second Great Illuminator, Strange Magic is funded! Now, to figure out what on earth clockwork magic is...
Also, here's a bit of a challenge for everyone, a "Flash Stretch Goal", if you will. Though $2,000 is enough to barely push this book out the door, $3,000 makes things much, much easier from my point of view.
If we can hit $3,000 by 6 PM Eastern Standard Time on September 7th, I'll upgrade the $3,000 archetype to a pile of sorcerer bloodlines, cleric domains, and oracle mysteries that grant truenamer recitations (the high level ones with inflections included) as bonus spells, thus tying into the fact that the First Language contains all things.

Can your rogue flank enemies with his shadow, poison them with condensed light, then dimension door and drag the newly-poisoned enemy's friend down into the abyss with a shadow his shadow grappled into submission, then used as a unit of ammunition a few combats later?
I think not.

Well, Deep Magic has Clockwork Magic, which is OGC.
The Open content in this book includes the Wildblooded Vril Sorcerer and the Chaos, Clockwork, Dragon, Illumination, Necrophagy,Ooze, and Time Schools in Chapter 1, all spells in Chapter 2, all bloodlines and mysteries in Chapter 5, and all archetypes in Chapter 6.
It would just need to be re-worked to become Strange Clockwork Magic :)
