Heavens oracle:

Revelation: Awesome display.

Possibly best done as a gnome.

Go into Veiled illusionist as soon as you qualify and take the following illusion spells: Loathsome Veil, Scintillating pattern(when of high enough level).

For more flexibility, pick up shadow evocation, shadow conjuration, invisibility and maybe later shades.(From Veiled illusionist)

Feats: Spell Focus illusion and greater, spell penetration and greater, effortless trickery.

I'm very interested in this, but I'm having trouble finding an illusion spell on the first 2 levels of the cleric list. Anybody know of any?

While waiting for a response, I'll keep checking every spell on the list hoping for an illusion.

Silence is Illusion. And then the first 2 spells from Heavens Oracle are illusions.

You can also take Haunted curse to get Minor Image at level 5.

Thank you Drogos. I didn't even think to check silence as I had no inkling it would be an illusion spell.

Well, I guess I know what my first 2nd-level spell will be. Now that the qualifications have been figured out, are there any other [pattern] spells that are worth picking up that the Heavens oracle doesn't already get?

Ok, so assuming I go into Veiled Illusionist at 6, here are the spells I would taker:

6: loathsome veil
7: invisibility
8: phantasmal killer
9: greater invisibility
10: nightmare
11: shadow step

This would be for PFS, so the game would basically end there. I'm guessing I'm going to want to be a gnome for the +1 to illusion DCs. I was considering focusing on color spray, but now that I can get [/i]loathsome veil[/i], I think it would be much better to focus on. I'll definitely take at least Magical Lineage (loathsome veil), and I might even add Wayang Spell Hunter (loathsome veil).

Any recommendations for feats? Combat Casting seems like it would be important early on when I'm using color spray, but I would probably have to pay to retrain it once I pick up 2nd- and 3rd-level spells. So how about:

1. Combat Casting retrained into Heighten Spell at level 5 or 7
3. Spell Focus (illusion)
5. Persistent Spell
7. Greater Spell Focus (illusion)
9. Extra Revelation
11.

I'll take the blackened curse to give me something to do against creatures immune to mind-effecting spells. The only revelation that really matters is Awesome Display at 1. I'll take Coat of Many Stars at 3, Lure of the Heavens at 7, Moonlight Bridge at 9 and Dweller in Darkness at 11.

Meh, just realized this means I have to buy another book. Oh well, I think it's totally worth it. I'll just have to put off playing this character for a bit.

Ugh, also realized I'm going to have to stay human for the extra feat. I need to squeeze Spontaneous Metafocus (loathsome veil) somewhere into the build before level 7.
