Countdown to Server Up time on August 28

(note, it doesn't let me edit it, so there's a new link each week.)

(edit) for people that aren't aware, you can click on a person's avatar or name and select the "posts" tab to see all their recent posts. Like this: http://paizo.com/people/CaldeatheBaequiannia/posts

Thank you Cal B, for both the link and the reminder to search your avatar post next time! (grin)

Reminder:

New to the Alpha and sad that there will be no adventure time this week? Me too.

Feel free to enjoy a far less organized adventure time Friday evening with some of your fellow adventurers. We won't have fancy weapons to give out, and nobody will be in god mode, and won't have any Alpha invitations to share, and won't have an attractive woman to play host. But other than that it will be exactly the same. (I.e., a bunch of inexperienced noobs scrambling around trying not to kill each other by accident.)

Adventure Time without any Bonnys whatsover - ROUND 2 - Friday August 29:
1:00am UTC/London
6:00pm PDT - 7:00pm MDT
8:00pm CDT - 9:00pm EDT

Countdown Clock to ATwoaBW :-(

Will any players make the even viewable via twitch?

Goblin Squad Member

That will be up to individuals. I can try, but you are likely to see a lot of resurrections......

I've been a slacker when it comes to twitch lately. I'll fire it up this weekend, although I'll probably be spending more time processing data this weekend than playing the Alpha. I haven't yet decided which I find more fun :)

Note: tonight's ATWOABW will be recipe gathering themed, and will feature lots of hunting with no straggling for harvesters. Team 1 will not delay for late arrivals. We will leave the Sotterhill market heading south at the designated time:

Stragglers may form their own party and follow.

Plans at the moment are for my party to use the Gaymeon Mumble. I'm guessing there will be groups on TSV's Teamspeak as well.

My Stream for tonight's ATWOABW.

No Audio, but I'll be on the Ozem's Vigil Teamspeak at gaymeon.mumble.com Port 5759

Goblin Squad Member

Is that teamspeak or mumble server?

Goblin Squad Member

Tonight's adventure was fun, there was 5-7 of us tackling an escalation south and west of the starting town. I started with 2 recipes and now I have 24 so I think it was a success :)

EDIT: I also had a lot more fun in the party, much more than just on my own

So the Alpha opens every Friday, right?

The alpha opens for 15 hours every Thursday night, then again Friday right through until Monday morning. Server is currently up until: Countdown to Server Down time on Sept 1

On Monday, they're going to try to move to the final servers, and if that works, it may be up longer

I agree wholeheartedly. I've now had three sessions long enough to evaluate--one group, two solo; twice on Teamspeak, once when there was no one else around--and soloing is distinctly lonely, even while on Teamspeak with friends.

Do we still need to redownload every week or whatever?

Goblin Squad Member

You should get an alpha email each week that tells you if there's a new client. Newest was two days ago on Thursday. If your previous installer says 7.1, you're good. If it says 6.0, you'll need to download fresh.

I had to uninstall the old version anyways. It broked. :(

In Alpha the changes are significant between versions, but those have been every other week. NOw the changes are more often. Hopefully by EE the chafes will be handled as UPDATES, not NEW VERSIONS. Time will tell.

Taylor's told us a self-patcher is on his to-do list, but it's not at the top of that list yet.
