Constantly Expanding the Alpha

We are going to continue to issue Alpha invitations to existing Alpha account holders so that we can grow the size of the player base regularly. If you're in the Alpha and you notice on goblinworks.com that you have outstanding Alpha invitations to distribute we highly encourage you to do so. The faster we ramp up the server population the better our testing of these features will be.

So, I have 2 outstanding Alpha invitations to distribute. PM with e-mail (1st two get em)

I hope I made it on time, typing on a tablet is slow...... Lol

Me too friend, it is a long ten minutes between the OP and my PM...

Goblin Squad Member

I am in Alpha!

(Does Happy Dance)

Thanks Arumvorax! :)

If any other alphas find themselves similarly burdened, please note that I am more than willing to relieve you of said burden ;D

Goblin Squad Member

2 more invitations available, see OP.

The madness continues! LOL

Thanks again for the invite, I am downloading PFO_Installer_6.0_exe right now! :)

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

PM sent.

Goblin Squad Member

PM sent too.

Aye, I would love to play in Alpha land before it disappears, as well. So any givers out there, I am your taker!

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

Follow-up PM sent with email. (I rolled a 1 on Reading Comprehension.)

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

Many, many thanks, Arumvorax! You just turned a boring weekend into an adventure!

Missed it by 10 minutes! Damned. :( If anyone else has some to give away, there still seems to be interest. ;-)

Goblin Squad Member

Thanks again Arumvorax!

Goblin Squad Member

Just in case anyone still has an alpha invite left over, I would gladly accept it as well :-)

Goblin Squad Member

I also got into Alpha on the back of Arumvorax's generosity. Three cheers for him!

When I get invites, I need to attend to my company (they know where I live!) and key settlement members first, but I imagine I'll eventually have some to share here. Pay it forward!

Goblin Squad Member

Argh! Darn work made me miss it.

My fellow company members (companions?) don't know where I live, but I'll probably follow a similar pattern.

So basically if someone tells you they have an invitation for you they need a PM advising them of an email address you will check, so they can enter it into the invitation machine and the invitation will arrive and you will be able to actually use it.

There are a couple of folks I very much would like to invite but they have their accounts set to disallow PMs, and thus I cannot ask them.

I suppose I'll muddle through somehow.

No, they need the email address you used to register on goblinworks.com.

Goblin Squad Member

Really? They log in with their account name and password. I'd have thought that all they need is the link from GW.

Goblin Squad Member

Honestly, I'm not sure. I was under the impression it would flag the account with the specified email address. I might be wrong.

Goblin Squad Member

Okay this is an unknown then. I don't know whether the others who've been invited used their GW registered emails or not.

Did anyone receive and successfully use an email account for invitation other than the officially registered email account?

Goblin Squad Member

Ryan said on the alpha forums that it is simply a token for redeeming. Any valid emails should be fine.

When you click the link, you will need to login with your GW email, but the sender need not know that particular address.

I appreciate that level of anonymity.

Anyone still needing an alpha invite please PM me with a request that supplies an email address you will keep an eye on: I have two more available.

Sent you a request! :)

Goblin Squad Member

Gahhh...missed another one, hehehe

Goblin Squad Member

Same here, Aet Khorvak McTiernan.

Goblin Squad Member

Patience is it's own reward, Grasshopper.

hehehehe.

Goblin Squad Member

I apparently didn't have PMs activated and wasted a few minutes getting it working. Very sad.

Goblin Squad Member

Mine are input in the invite machine. All gone here until the next round.

Hooray! Thank you Being!

I will definitely be passing on all but one that I get in the future to others on the forums. I have a few guild-members with accounts, but I would rather increase the number of groups involved than just have more of my own guild members involved.

Goblin Squad Member

I would use your GW account email just to be safe. Unless we can get reaffirmation from someone that recieved an invite at a secondary address?

P.S. And thanks again Being. I had great fun last night. I, in turn, was allowed to invite someone. The gift that keeps giving. :)

I'm pretty sure the exact email doesn't matter. You don't even have to have a GW account before-hand. You can create one at the link. Since it just sends you to a page asking you to log in or create an account, the email used to receive the link seems irrelevant. The link could just be PMed to someone if it wasn't for how the system generates it. The system just uses an email to spit out the code too. It could be anyone and then that link given to anyone else. The code is in the link and doesn't appear linked to an email address.

Goblin Squad Member

Woot! Thank you Being!

Goblin Squad Member

You are welcome, both! What good is the good unless it is shared?

From Bonny on the alpha forums:

"1) Yes, you can send it to anyone. Its a redeem code, so even if you do not have a goblinworks.com account, you will be directed to create one."

Since the alpha access is a temporary thing, the absolute worst case scenario is that you'd have to create another account to use for the duration of alpha, then switch to your preferred one after the wipe for EE with no repercussions other than having an extra GW account. If you are afraid, you could make sure you are logged out of GW before activating the link.

Goblin Squad Member

Gah, I'm so slow!

Anyone still looking for keys?

Gone.

I just got 2 more invites after giving out the first 2 (odd?) so send me a PM if you'd like an invite. First is fair.

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

I have one invite up for grabs. First PM gets it.

Ditto. But you have to include the Scientific name for the domestic goat, or no dice :)
