Actually that is a really cool background. I'm not keen on the word "Generic" but "Fighter 203" has a kind of ring to it.

It would be an interesting android "anti-concept" concept.

Actually my daughter did kind of the same thing:) she said "she's an android fighter, her name is Ann, her hair is blue and this is her catch phrase, literally the rest (feats, weapons, etc) is for me to figure out, until its time to shop for gear that is

Half-Orc Ranger (Trapper/Galvanic Saboteur)
Strix Gunslinger (Musket Master)
Android Metal Wizard
Archon-Blooded Aasimar Inquisitor of Brigh

Minimal backgrounds as yet. The Ranger and Gunslinger took the Local Ties trait and I haven't yet wrapped my head around a way to make that work for the Strix, but I haven't read the first module either. The Android took Against the Technic League, so that one looks to be easy as does the Inquisitor of Brigh who took Stargazer.

Despite playing for 4-5 hours almost every week since the AP came out, my players are ooooonly just beginning Book 2 (and they haven't even gone out of their way to interact with any of the townsfolk except for Baine; or to even RP that much. Yech.) We've got!:

-The Dwarven Barbarian (Korgoth): He hates robots, loves money. Has an unrequited thing for Dogla.

-The Human Arcanist (David "Zigz" Dominus): Loves robots and money. Dreams of going into the stars someday. Has a strange birthmark on his forearm depicting the Salmon constellation.

-The Kasatha Slayer (Squibble): Originally a human barbarian, he killed off his character and had the rest of the party use a Scroll of Resurrection on one of the Kasatha skeletons. The party named him this, because they had no real way of understanding anything he was saying for the first 2-3 sessions, until he leveled up and picked Common through linguistics a la Antonio Banderas in The 13th Warrior. Currently addicted to sludge.

-The Android Gunslinger (Wilfred Now): An android found coming out of a renewal cycle in the caverns below Torch without any knowledge of his past. Acquired his name when the party told him that "His name is Wilfred now." - was the driving motivation behind the party taking certain Book 1 Bosses alive.

-The Ghoran Paladin (Veeks): More than just a Groot knockoff. Worships Scorchbark and carries a masterwork club (which he claims is all that is left of his brother, after the Technic League got through with him.) The awkward voice of reason and photosynthesis. The rest of the party isn't terribly fond of him, because he stopped them from resting overnight down in the tunnels beneath Torch, but he's decent people.

-The Human Swashbuckler (Timothy): Found in Torch's drunk tank. Good with his knife. Claims (falsely) to have been a space pirate who has wandered all of the galaxy (including "Android Planet 1, birthplace of all androids!") The rest of the party puts up with him both because his smooth talking helped Veeks finally break through in his interrogation of certain Book 1 Bosses, and because he regularly gets drunk and says beautiful things about space.

-The Human Cleric of Desna (Asari): The only woman in the group. Often wonders why the heck she's traveling with these bozos.

This is pretty damn awesome.

It would seem a little sad not to have a Rogue in this AP since its practically made for a Rogue to take centre stage and shine which is never normally the case!

Except they kind of handed that spotlight away with Galvanic Saboteur.

Numerian scavenger is a fun rogue archetype, my wife has one, its been her favorite character for pathfinder yet:)

I run Iron Gods and we are still in book 1 (party about to go to the warehouse), my party is:

1) LN female half-elf void wizard from Cheliax, has a fascination with astronomy and was a "pen associate" with Baine, also she has a rudimentary understanding of electronic systems and want to further explore the numerian ruins.

2) NG male human (kellid) bloodrager (abberant bloodline), orphan of Torch and adopted son of Khonir Baine, he used to do a lot of swimming in the lake in Torch and ended up sick and mutated. While he doesn't follow in his father footsteps in regard to wizardry, he does like technology a lot and likes to craft things a lot.

3) LN male human (chelaxian) inquisitor (sanctified slayer) of Abadar, born and raised in Chessed he has a deep hatred for the Technic League so he travels Numeria and tries to oppose the league wherever he can.

4) CG male human (chelaxian) gunslinger (pistolero), born and raised in Alkenstar, he came to Avistan in order to look for his mother but haven't found a single clue, so he when he heard about the weird metal constructs in Numeria called robots he decided to go there and see if his bullets work on them as well as they work on others.

We just started last night and our party is made up of:

An elven battle shaman
An android alchemist
A human cleric of humanism
a half orc bloodrager [green dragon]

My group just finished the first book and consists of:

- CG male Gnome archivist bard, who worked a shop in Pitax as a tech expert, lending his knowledge to appraise smuggled goods. He had to fled Pitax after he stole a particular technological good.

- NG male Android Wizard of the Void, who was kept underground in Chesed and trained by wizards, who were curious what their android could achieve, if they give him enough knowledge. The wizards got busted and the android had to flee, but was captured later by roaming Tiger Lords, who tried to sell him in Pitax.

- NG male Dwarf Cleric of Brigh, born and raised in Highhelm to a smith and his wife, who always had a driving curiosity in him and a feeling that tradition keeps him back. Got send of to Absolom to absolve the Pathfinder training, discovered there the wonders of technology and learned about Brigh. After finishing his training started his journey on a boat on the Sellen River, where he met the aforementioned PCs.

- CN male Tiefling Magus, who was found by couple, who were on their way to the Torch from the Kingdom of Ustalav. Was trained by Khonnir Baine in Arcane Magic.

- CG male Vishkanya Swashbuckler, who was a prisoner of Khonnir's Mentor, who did many experiments on this strange creature and tried to transfer his poisonous into Val, by injecting his blood. He grew as Khonnir's adopted son and brother to Val. Had many fencing duels with aforementioned Magus.

My pathetic fleshbags are an Aztec inspired Druid, a priest of Kurgess (god of strength) who has the lowest strength in the party, a psychic wizard who doesn't use spells and instead hits stuff with a stick, a ranged ifrit paladin that only fights in melee and a Brawler who does all the work.

Its fun to watch them blunder their way through everything and even more fun to hope they die in the encounters.

A weak character worshipping a god of strength isn't all that surprising to me, but the other two seem worrisome. Are they new players? If so, it might be helpful to point out how their playstyles class with their characters and work on rebuilds/retraining. If they're doing it intentionally or due to circumstances in the fight, then that I understand.

Liberty's Edge

The Wizard is relatively new and made poor spell choices in my opinion, he is improving at least. You'd be surprised how well he does with his sticks though and he may not be effective in combat but he provides moral support! The paladin did it because of circumstances and honestly he isn't a chump in melee, he may not have power attack or whatever melee feats most people would have but he's still a martial with a good AC and some strength so he can use composite bows.

Last session the wizard moved on from Inertial Armor (the psionic version of mage armor) to casting magic missile! The only one who wants to retrain is the brawler who wants to be some gadget guy class from thunderscape, i told him he could roll up a new character if he wanted and retire this one but I'm not okay with him redoing his entire stat block and class for his established character several sessions in.

In any case they aren't dead yet so I'm anything but worried. Once i put one in the grave I'll begin to think about how to teach them about their classes, they seem to be helping each other become better players for the moment.

Don't have the Brawler re-roll. Simply multi class.

He wants gadgets?

Try alchemist.
Spagyric devices.
Possibly have him go with Rage chemist and Prc into Master Chymist.

Using the above 3pp rules for spagyric devices, he can trade either Extracts, Mutagens or Bombs for devices

I would suggest extracts, but alas they are useful… so it's up to the individual.

But the character could become Bane-Like with muscle growth juice, explosives, discoveries and more, all this mixed with some rage and martial flexibility and an alter EGO!

Mwhahaha.

We just started last weekend & I'm GM this AP. The group consist of the following:

Orena Gemkin (Female Dwarf Rogue) Unknown background for the self proclaimed "Acquirer of rare goods & limited access specialist."

Aylmora Weshus (Female Changeling Inquisitor of Desna) From Varisia, loves travel & mother is Hag...enough said.

Ophina (Female Aasimar Oracle) From Absalom, follower of Desna. Extremely intelligent & able to read others. Emotionally detach to people she finds irrelvant.

Quinrey (Male Half-Elf Alchemist) From Iadenveigh, driven to be better alchemist & motivated by wealth

Ausk (Male Half-Orc Barbarian) From Chesed, Hired to bodyguard Quinrey. Extremely angry & always drinking which often results in raging Half-Orc. He is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Drogull the Drake (Male Half-Orc Rogue) From Chesed, follower of Gorum. Schemer from birth, clever, & can be charming if it to his benefit. Self taught & the exact opposite to Ausk.

Everyone had a good time & can't wait to see what next.

Have only played three sessions this far. Party consists of:

Human male barbarian (Kellid) - Robot fighter. Lives to smash constructs.

Human female cleric (Kellid) of Erastil - Hates what has happened to the people under the Technic League

Changeling ranger - Looking to overthrow the Technic League. Doesn't trust constructs of any sort.

Aasimar male oracle - Has felt that some great event is going to take place. Feels compelled to be present for it, or even assist with the happening.

Android Investigator (Empiricist) - Only a year old. Interested in his own origins, and the happenings in Numeria. Other party members do not realize yet what he is.

We had one session last night and they reached the point clearing out the gremlin infestation. Party consist of:

Human Male Gunslinger(Robot Slayer)- He hates robots and is some what obsessed with pistols. Also insist he keep all the Silverdisk found thinking they have some sort of value.

Half-Elf Female Swashbuckler-Pretty good with a rapier and more often then not countered many of the hits aimed at her.

Human Alchemist-BOMBS BOMBS BOMBS, he really loves his bombs and his mutagen. So far he has been blinded and had to me watched after as his sight returned. Also he almost drank the numerian fluids.

Well, the gunslinger's not wrong. Silverdisks are Numerian platinum pieces, so they're each worth 10 gp.
