A River Kingdoms Wedding

Kingmaker

We have an extremely long thread detailing the grisly ends of a great many adventurers who have ventured into the Stolen Lands. It seemed only appropriate to celebrate the happy occasions as well.

Let it be known to all people of good breeding that, on the 15th day of Arodus, in the year 4713,

Mikayla Orlovsky
Councilor of the Kingdom of Bellamar

was joined in marriage with

Kesten Garess
Captain of the 1st Happy Valley Defenders

The wedding was performed by Elsbeth, favored of Calistria, and High Priestess of the Kingdom of Bellamar, and was witnessed by many dignitaries from Bellamar, and further abroad.

Let it also be known to all people of good breeding that, although this is a happy occasion for both the Orlovsky and Garess families, the newlywed couple does not wish to appear to favor any noble family of Brevoy above another. In that light, they have chosen to take the name Syrenka, renouncing all claims of inheritance and founding a new noble house, which shall preside within the boundaries of the Kingdom of Bellamar. The Syrenkas hope to remain on good terms with both of their previous families, with their neighbors in Restov, and with all who refrain from threatening the Kingdom of Bellamar with show of force or unreasonable dictates.

Congratulations to the happy couple! :)

Ours was a double wedding & promotion:

Baron Mortie von Klinkerhoffen of Stagfell was married to Baroness Lyriina Varn of Varnhold, eldest daughter of Baron Maegar Varn (deceased). With the union, they united the baronies of Stagfell and Varnhold and were elevated to Duke and Duchess.

Mustapha Baal Czak married Rosala Varn, second daughter of Baron Maegar Varn (deceased).

We had a similar event as well, just after the end of VV. Viscountess Elegy Dragomir was wed to Lord Casimir Alvaris, youngest son of the original chartering sponsor, Vanguard Lord Ulrich Alvaris; at the same time she was promoted to Countess and, in the wake of impending war in the lands to the east (and a Diplomacy roll of 60), granted independence for her colony. (Elegy, being Elegy, has pretty much ignored all but the political ties of said marriage since; she and Casimir aren't even the same species, and he has a girlfriend/bodyguard to keep him entertained in non-scholarly matters... well, when she isn't distracted by the fact that she's a wizard and thus can get caught up with talking with Elegy about arcane theory. Otherwise, Elegy would rather be in her lab anyway.)

Magister Errol Genio was actually the first party member to get hitched, marrying Pelagius Francesca AKA "Cesca" (Divan names are reversed, ancient Roman style), former apprentice of Elga Verniex, a little before VV started. Their daughter Chara hatched shortly after Elegy's wedding.

The rest of the party members are unattached, though there is some on/off "something" between Spymistress Lilith Blackwood and The Puck of the Summer Court. What exactly that "something" is is up for debate. She also has about twenty kids, which she and the party have badgered Puck into considering himself the father of (since it was his magic that made Lilith the fey creature she is now, rather than the dhampir she started the game as... reincarnate shenanigans are fun), but given her fey/plant hybrid nature, losing a few seeds that grew into miniatures of herself was a lot less troublesome than more traditional methods of reproduction.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

A lot less brutal on the waistline as well.

Liberty's Edge

Congratulations!
