This video reminded me of a lot of you.
You were bored in classes, and too smart for your school.
Your teachers didn't know how to help someone as smart as you.
Also, your parents were working too hard to give you the special attention
you needed.
[ video = this is what you should have been ]

My wife just got a teaching job. This is bountifully true.
She does "decide what," but it is bounded by major structural constraints which can get in the way.

A brilliant kid, but an extreme outlier. Public and even most private schools were not set up to handle kids like this because they are so rare that its impossible to cater to them and to the "regular" kids. His parents seem to have found out how to satisfy his needs within the established system (let him self-teach, get him out of public school as soon as possible and into higher education).
Schools have a lot wrong with them, but having the infrastructure to handle kids like this for 12 years is not one of them.

The teacher gets you for less than a year. Maybe you should consider your parents, or yourself, rather than blaming the poorly-paid government employee who's being bossed around by politicians who all went to private school.
By the way, I'm not addressing you in particular. I'm just using the same strange "I will use the second person" format you (actual you) decided to open this thread with.
