I have a few more questions.
I've currently used a conservative reading of the combination of expert shield defense and shield specialization. I was wondering how you see the interaction? Is it +5 or +10 to CMD? (4 from tower shield, 1 from shield focus)
Same with the shield block ToB manoeuvre, how much AC would it give to an ally?
How does the 100 gp version of the golden pin work? Is this to cure someone else's temporary paralysis? As I don't think you can use it while paralysed yourself, that's what the 1000 gp version seems to be for.
How much do healing crystals cost?

@Eira We shall have to see how many of the rather large gaggle of players we have gained will be interested in that pitch. Seems like Alembic might be interested (which Argus will hate). Though I will be very interested in seeing how it all breaks down when we hit the tournament. Seems just the sort of place to lose all of your valuable items.

@Tark- I would warn you that several of the players in this game have managed to break the scales in terms of point buy power.
If power disparity is something that irks you as a player I'd suggest checking some of the current PC's before deciding.


I thought I had rolled high, but after looking at some of the stats on the other characters... Dang!

Also, I gotta admit I'm having a hard time coming up with a non magical character that will honestly add something to the group - all the roles seem to be filled, and brutally so :D

We could use a force multiplier, some kind of buffer type that gives out numerical boosts to the party. An armored bard, like an Inspiring Commander cavalier an Evangelist Cleric* or a Holy Tactician Paladin. Any of them would be well loved by this group.

*for losing spells in Roreks game clerics have full BaB and bonus feats if I'm recalling it correctly.


Bought some TP crystals, cure crystals and some of the other consumables.
So I think everything's filled in right now. Kinda wondering where I can jump into the game, would like to participate with what the group is currently doing, just haven't the foggiest how my character would end up there.

Effectively between the current events of the game and the start of the death game there is a 5 month gap. So as it stands Rorek has basically left the events of that time period up to the players. Only real big things is that the assault guilds have been stalled on the 5th floor looking for the boss room for so long that lots of players have caught up to the level "cap" of the floor.
I've been suggesting it to folks but it is entirely possible for you to have met our entire PC cast at one point or another if you so choose to.
Just send folks PM's and see what they want to do theorycraft wise.

From reading your back story your character hunts murder guilds. He likes to take people like that and put them in jail(it sounds like). The Ravens have been putzing around gathering information and people for a raid on a dungeon full of Twilight blade (murder/red guild) members.
Gavin is another player and he is an information broker with a mad-on for Red guilds. So contacting Gavin about the murder guild would then mean that you can easily learn there is a group/raid gathering to hit a new dungeon full of them.
Gavin was not a beta test player, so perhaps you helped him somewhere or he helped you?
The Black Ravens guild is a very small assault guild, you could very well choose to have had interactions with them at Boss raids.
Any of the other players could work just fine for the same thing, but the ravens/Gavin are the ones I remember off the top of my head.

As to getting there, I don't think Rorek wrote it down as an option on his consumable list but he had said earlier in the Discussion forum that players could purchase targeted teleport crystals from the main towns on a floor for an increase in price. EX: Teleport-[Reaper Forest} would be a viable option. So were you of the desire you could trade out a few crystals and get in on the combat by teleporting right on top of it.

Or Rorek could just have you hop up onto the Delorable couch and drop out of the mist into combat with the powers of GM fiat.


Well, I think I want to play a goblin brawler - would anyone be offended if I brought one to the table (and a LG one to boot :D)?

I also changed one more thing around in my feat selection. I switched out Antagonize for Step Up. I originally liked it as a sort of taunting mechanism, but the fact that your enemy needs to be able to understand you and have an intelligence score of 3 or higher, makes it so it will be useless on a bunch of enemies (many undead, golems, most likely plant creatures as well, ...). I took step up as it will help me stay with my target. (planning on taking following step and maybe step up and strike to make it even easier to stay with my target). Other suggestions are always welcome.

I like it, looks like it is filled with shenanigans. no, no changes to the monk as of yet.

@GM_Rorek, how much would a targeted TP crystal to the Reaper forest cost?
Would it be the same as the purple TP crystals mentioned in this post by you in the original recruitment topic :

you would TP to Bent Knee outpost and from there make your way to the scene. most likely this combat would be over before you got there, but not to terribly long.


@ Albion, I would say that at first glance you look very similar to Eira, the night raven guild leader. But then that's just both of you using the power of a MOMS dip.
Looking at the mechanics where Eira is nearly untouchable due to her stupidly large number of ways to dodge attack you punch things in the head for outstanding damage.
I mean you still have a decent AC for you level but you are certainly no clone.

I was confused for a minute when I read your stats on to where the +14 to hit was coming from but 6str,1focus,+4bab,+1brawler+2armor enhance turns out to be correct. getting a total of +3hit/+5damage from the Brawler/Brawling armor combo is crazy.

I assume you are going to try justifying benefiting from a shield bonus on your arm by TWFing with one hand and one leg or both legs?
Little bit sketchy but Technically correct. the best kind.
Though easily within Roreks right to Veto if he desires.

You have yet to pick Tome of battle stuff.

You could get some crazy synergy if you chose to trade in Snake style/Fang for Pummeling style/Pummeling charge from the fancy new advanced class guide.

I mean unless Rorek would like to go ahead and Veto giving you the option as I have to admit the combination will lead to some insanely high damage scores. Getting pounce 2 levels before the Barbarian can access it and having the only Melee version of Clustered Shots only 2 levels after a devoted fighter archer could pick it up all for the price of one feat chain (the prerequs of which you ignore due to having the MoMS dip) is REALLY powerful.

Then you follow this up with White Raven Leading the charge stance to give you a +5 damage on charge attacks.

Burning Blade and Death mark from desert wind would give you the option of having a Falcon punch that annihilates mooks while also damaging the boss.

If you want to go for an AOO build more than a char-ypounc-yleap-ydeath monk you could instead pick up Thicket of blades as your L3 sword art and get AOO's for people making five foot steps. another option is Defensive Rebuke, also awesome if you want AOO's to be your bread and butter. Attack someone other than me? AOO. Attack me and miss? AOO Attack me and hit? Snake style/dodge.

@Rorek Eh, perhaps you can give him a roll of the dice on how long it takes him to get there?
If we are still playing the time travel game then Gavin could have very easily informed Mikhael of the massing raid when we all got there. Then it would be quite possible he was less than a minute away when the attack happened and might even get in on the combat if the dice gods favor him.
Hrmmm... though I suppose there isn't much point when the only thing left to attack is either the doom tree or the mostly crippled golem.
From the raw number of attacks it is about to take I'm pretty sure that tree is going to die now.

@Argus: thanks for all the feedback and input - in fact you made me realize I am indeed very similar to Eira, much more than I would like to...

I am on the train heading home at the moment, so can't really comment on all your suggestions, but they seem very well thought out indeed.

I may have to rethink the character though - I know uniqueness is in one's personality and RP, but still... Since we are all martial anyway, I may just go in with my favorite class, and play a straight dwarven Fighter :D
