Cosmetic Weapons: does this fall afoul of reskinning rules

I have started off with my grandfathered Aasimar Swashbuckler (with slashing grace on katana) and am womdering this: does cosmetic fluff, like short colored ribbons/tassels on the pommel, tinted blades, and eventually effects when the weapons are enchanted (subtle motion blur, Tesla coil like glowing traveling up and down the blade, etc) count as illegal under reskinning rules?

Nope, you're good. As long as anyone looking at it can see "katana" you're fine.

I stepped into this thread hoping to see some hints on using make-up as weapons, or in combat situations... you know, things like;
- throwing flasks of Tinted Moisturizers as splash weapons,
- face powder for locating invisible creatures,
- Mascara & Eyeshadow for a bonus to Perception,
- Eyeliners & Brow Pencils as improvised weapons (perhaps used with the trait "Rough and Ready")
- makeup brushes used as the weapon Iron Brush
- Lipstick & Lip Gloss as a Masterwork Tool for Diplomacy
- Nail Polish Blanches to get through DR when using claw attacks

you know, "Cosmetic Weapons" - that sort of thing.

sigh... life is just full of disappointments I guess.

I've been sprayed with a dose of cologne while walking through a department store that I could have sworn was an acid flask.

Ha! Something like a Pheromone Arrow from Alchemy Manual?

No worries, so long as you're not trying to change anything mechanically or disguise it somehow. "But it has ribbons and tassles on the end, now I can use it as a thrown weapon without penalty because they stabilize it!"

How do you get the invisible ninja to hold still long enough to powder his face?

That's a relief, now I can color code my weapons for party convenience and aesthetic perfection! ( "The red katana matches my formal attire for the Chelish banquet, but the blue one goes really well with my armor when it all hits the fan.") Swashbucklers need to care about their stylishness in all things, especially since the red ones (may or may not) go faster (needs more Waaagh)

Well, you'll find many references on these boards, to the 'sneak attacking rouge'.

Not for an Aasimar - you'd need to be half-orc. After all, the only reason the red ones go faster is because the orks believe that red ones go faster.

This is true. I know a few folks who would agree that rouge can sneak attack quite painfully if you leave your eyes open.

Was it, perhaps, the ever-popular "Battleaxe Body Apray?"

Well, for some, perfume and cologne might as well be mustard gas.

I recall the horror days, when ladies in department stores, would sneak up behind you, and spray you in the face with perfume.

Dark days.

Isn't that the source for that evil cartoon, the Powderpuff Girls?
