As the topic says, I was wondering if this had come for anyone yet. This is because my order is still flagged as pending, but no longer says anything about a credit card hold while my shipping info has changed to Originally expected to ship in an unknown time frame; Waiting for backordered product(s). Is this happening to everyone not picking up their box at Gencon as a "side-effect", or is it just a hiccup from being near the end of the list for the shipping stuff?

Mine says "Expected to ship late September or early October 2014" - I'm assuming, hoping, praying that that is a hiccup.

That must not have been a pleasant thing to read.

Mine just says pending, and the base set as well as the character add on are labeled as back ordered. Just shot off an email to customer service.

It's a bit of a hiccup, sorry for the scare. :)

We're still estimating all of this months subscription orders to be en route to their recipients by the 22nd.

Oh, thank goodness! I was freaking out a bit, too.

Thank you for the update!

The Exchange

Adding myself and two local friends to the not yet list, I recognize they are coming, but for the OP's sanity, you aren't the only one.

One more weekend before school starts back up, here is to hoping for shipment tomorrow for weekend card fest while my group still has time to play, unfortunately I don't think my sub has ever not shipped on a Friday, regardless of stocking hiccups, so we shall see if I get lucky this time.

PENDING

Mine says complete. Tracking number is just shipping label printed though. Been that way for days.

Pending.

As an overseas, starting with the character add-on box, subscriber I'm torn between wanting it now, and wanting it near to when I can get the base set and actually play....

Gary Johns wrote:

Same here. When are the boxes actually going to be leaving their facility?

My order says it is pending but is "waiting for back ordered products." I noticed that S&S says it is backordered so I guess they did not have enough product to ship to everyone?

I still think that is just a glitch.

Pathfinder LO Special Edition, PF Special Edition Subscriber

Mine went back to 2-14 days Shipping yesterday and now its back to waiting for back ordered products. Oddly though, now rather than being marked as back ordered, the Base set and Character Add-on are marked as unavailable.

Like Hawkmoon said, I think that there are just a lot of glitches with the sub system right now. Pretty clear we won't be shipping pre GenCon, lol, but I assume shipments will go next week. And that would still be within the 8/22 end of shipping estimate originally scheduled.

I'm just really wishing I was attending GenCon.... Sigh....

Still Pending for me.

has anyone else seen this on their subscription order? Looks like it has the base set and the character add on deck queued up a second time for me? Just wondering if this is also a known problem?

I have a subscription starting with the character add-on, and it's set to ship as normal. However, I also see the base set and character add-on queued to ship in September with Adv 2

Mine says the label was printed on the 7th but UPS is still waiting. The playmat supposedly is already on the way and they just authorized payment yesterday.

Yeah, mine is the same. Its a display glitch. Half the system has your order queued to ship, the other half thinks you haven't gotten your August subscription so its put it in your September order. It should all be fine.

And here is a confirmation the back order status is a display glitch.

Not sure if this is a known glitch, but I did notice this one after reading your post, and it is a new one for me, as that has been a $20ish order for the last couple of weeks, and now its just shy of $100 (the AD2 portion of the Sub).

Same thing here. Subscription order for Base set, character add-on, and promos says "Complete", but UPS says shipping label on August 7, but that they haven't received the package. Order for playmats went through yesterday and is also "Complete", and UPS says it actually has the package and estimates delivery on the 19th.

You guys and your shipping labels don't know how good you got it! Still stuck in Pending hell, here. :(

Only $533 for a round-trip ticket to Indiana~

I have the email, but it says pending still. I wonder if I can still add the class decks to the order.

Is the Base Set and Add-On on Backorder, or is it just a glitch? Still pending for my subscription.

Base set and add-ons are in the warehouse and will ship by Aug 22nd. Class decks are delayed until the september shipments.

Mine went from expected to ship by the 22nd today, to "waiting for back ordered"

This whole subscription cycle seems wonk this month.

Wonky is definitely the right word for it. We've updated the My Subscriptions pages to warn that its misdisplaying pending and upcoming shipments. For accurate releases information please check the Product Schedule page.

Anyone with Character Class decks in their subscription order should have had them moved to their sidecart to ship with a future subscription shipment as soon as we heard the bad news, so your order shouldn't be delayed by them. To anyone who still hasn't received their PDFs you have my genuine apologies about this, it's one thing when your order is one of the last ones to be processed on a normal sub month, but when it's going on 3 weeks due to GenCon it may feel like we don't care, which is far from the truth. Thanks again for your patience while we get the last orders shipped.

Just a friendly thought for next year, maybe be a little more forthcoming on product delays to give us the opportunity to split our orders. At this point saving on shipping is something I would have gladly given up to get my AP pdf earlier in the shipping cycle. I recognize delays do happen and everyone is still within the shipping window, but I think a good portion of frustrated subscribers could have benefitted from this ability. Keep up the good work team!

That's a good suggestion.

I wonder if it might be worth considering two August subscription runs? One "minisub" in early August and one later in the month - kind of introducing a thirteenth month.

Not sure how well that would work, considering that, this year at least, my July subs weren't shipped in July, they're included with the August shipment.

Well there will always be blips, I suspect. That wasn't a widespread thing though.

Every GenCon, there's frustration and delays and it seems pretty systemic to me. Maybe if they did two half months each august we'd be more patient as the gap between spawning and shipping will be less.

I'm sure there's no magic bullet though - issues like whatever happened with your order will crop up from time to time.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

My order has been "pending" with no update for 2.5 months.

I figure this time of year, they've got lots of new subscribers, GenCon, and a load of new products appearing, so I'm not going to worry too much (at least until next week)

If it takes this long every month, I might re-think where I get my pathfinder stuff from...

Scarab Sages

These same issues were in existence last year around this time. While it's discouraging that Paizo has not yet improved their order fulfillment operations sufficiently in that time, it's understandable - they're a small firm, and I'm sure the profit margins aren't so expansive that it gives them an inordinate amount of resources with which to do so. If speed is a consideration, then I'd guess that better value might be found elsewhere...but Paizo.com has excellent customer service, and there's some residual value to be had in supporting the publisher directly in that it encourages future development of the game.

Oh, and promo cards FTW.

So if I've read this thread properly, the answer to the thread title has been a mixture of "No" and "I'm not sure", without a single "yes".
This with only 2.5 days left until the end of the shipping window (August 22nd, unless an extension on the window has escaped my notice).
And for what it's worth, I'm another "No".

Actually the answer for me is yes, I did receive my shipping e-mail. They printed a label on the 7th for it, unfortunately UPS still has not received the package.

Elezar wrote:

I guess that's an issue with my reading. I counted your situation as "I'm not sure" because I read the post as being about shipping confirmed. I missed that it's only about the email. More properly, the only two answers have been "No" and "Yes, but evidence suggests it hasn't actually left the warehouse."

IF they printed a label for you two weeks ago and UPS has yet to receive it, I think your answer is 'no'.

My Subscription (no Class Decks, just S&S, Add-On Deck, ACG, and Social Combat cards) went from forever "Pending" to "Waiting for Back Ordered Items". Still no PDF for my Advanced Class Guide either. :(

I called customer service today. I essentially got the "yes, we understand, let us know if you still have an issue after the 22nd" form response.

Sounds like I'm not the only one, then.

I appear to be a victim of the Backorder Glitch, as I've been checking at least once a day for the last two, three weeks and the order just flips between "Expected to Ship", "Originally expected to ship", and "Originally expected to ship ... / Waiting on backordered product(s)." I've been wondering if Paizo actually managed to not print and stock enough sets (a thought I found unfathomable considering every good manufacturer should order at least their Preorders + 25% minimum for retail), or if there's some kind of delay in the warehousing and shipping part of it.

I haven't actually looked at my credit card to see if it's been charged yet, but last I checked my base set/character add-on order was a "Pending" charge, though that was at the beginning of the month. If everything's supposed to leave the warehouse en masse by or on Friday, then I guess I'll just wait and keep checking, but I might have to resort to angry phone calls if I don't see movement here soon; that's a lot of cash to drop and I've never seen this kind of delay with an order of mine before, be they custom auto parts or game materials.

I'm sure they've got enough copies for subscribers (although perhaps the printing glitch with the Class Decks caused further issues?)

I seem to remember a similar backorder issue occurring in prior convention seasons - it's not that they're out of stock, it's that they havent reconciled how many copies remain from GenCon so their inventory system doesnt know how many copies they have and deverts to "backorder" just to be safe (so that people looking to buy the item now are prepared for the wait).

That's a bit of a hazy recollection though. It could equally well be some new glitch caused by the most recent software upgrade.

I started subbing here in April, I think. Plus a bunch of non-sub orders between March and well, now. I have one non-sub order enroute (should be here Friday). The sub order will get here when it gets here.

The Paizo folks have been very good at supporting me when I've needed it. I'm sure they're working hard to get all the subs out the door. I'm not gonna joggle their elbow. Not this week, anyway. :-)

I seriously doubt that there are a pile of games sitting around their warehouse waiting to be shipped. Face it; everybody who has a subscription and did not pick up their game at Gencon is basically waiting for a backorder. I'm guessing they are receiving a large shipment on the 21st from the manufacturer and will be able to cover most of the subscribers' shipments by the 22nd.

What bothers me is that I'm also guessing that they've known this was the situation since the beginning of August. Their initial pile of games all went to Gencon even though their subscribers have ordered them beforehand. In my case I've had my order paid in full since the 7th which just doesn't seem right.

Again, all of the above is conjecture on my part, but I'd be very surprised if I was proven wrong.

It would be counter to their established practise over at least the last six years (which is how long I've been a subscriber to pretty much everything). They always put enough stock aside for subscribers first - they just dont guarantee them actually being sent first.

I think it's more likely that they havent yet reconciled their stock on returning from GenCon so their software doesnt know the exact number of items on hand and just defaults to "backorder" to be safe.

Sorry, that doesn't make sense. Why would they set aside stock for subscribers and not ship it? And keeping track of inventory is about as simple as it gets in terms of software - I cannot buy the "reconciling inventory" argument.

Regardless, I've lost a lot of enthusiasm I had for this product. I'm very disappointed at this point.

I only hope that my local shop has ALL the promo cards, I know they have at least some that are set aside for me. Stopped by today and they said their shipment from the distributer should arrive tomorrow, maybe Friday. Should hold me over until the subscribers in my group get theirs.

They are shipping the August subscription orders. Some people have their orders and some dont yet - it takes time. It's not that they're sitting their twiddling their thumbs waiting until the 22nd. Paizo only have a relatively small warehouse crew for the number of orders they ship (although they bring in extra when big shipments like this occur). Most of the year, things are manageable, but when they're at capacity they're at capacity - they announced they expected to get all subscription shipments out of the door by the 22nd. That doesnt mean they're doing nothing until the 21st, it means they have made an estimate of how long it will take to start at the beginning of the queue and work through to the end.

What generally happens is that all their subscribers get grouped into 'batches' based on like products. Then the different batches get prioritised based on a whole bunch of things but predominantly getting everything out the door as smoothly as possible.

So one month it might be subscribers with just the AP, then subscribers with APs and card subscriptions, then superscribers, then AP/card/player companion subscribers, and so on (it's complicated as well, I believe, by whether you have things in your sidecart or not).

I suspect that this month the batches which include a PACG subscription are amongst the last to go, since I havent yet seen anyone with such a sub say they've received it.

Quote:

Well, it was just speculation on my part - not an argument. I could imagine GenCon being a mad rush and screwing with inventory management systems. I could equally imagine a mechanism of automatically displaying backorder when the amount of stock is unknown. Just guessing though.

Quote:

Yeah me too. August is always frustrating. It's mitigated somewhat by the fact I'm not very keen on the rest of my subscriptions this month, so I'm not missing out on much - it did mean I was banking on Skulls and Shackles for my monthly Paizo hit though. As it is, I suspect it's going to merge pretty close to the September shipment. :(
