Does Tremor sense work on upper floors of buildings?

Rules Questions

So party has person with boots of Tremor sense and just stands in front of every door before doing any searching or checking of the door itself to see if there is anything in the room beyond using tremor sense.

Would that work on second or third floors of a building as tremor sense states SOLID GROUND?

Silver Crusade

Why wouldn't it? As long as there's solid material under your feet, and that solid material is physically connected to the solid material under the feet of the people beyond the door, you'd be able to sense them.

In fact, you should be able to detect people on other floors, too. If you're on the bottom floor, the load bearing walls/pillars that hold up the second floor should be solid enough to pass vibrations, so you'd be able to sense people walking around on the floor above you.

Also, flagging to move thread to the rules question, since this isn't specific to the campaign setting.
