Thanks for today's update, Nihimon. I use the official data for my character builds, so am looking forward to crunching the numbers out this weekend.

Goblin Squad Member

The Normalized Data has not been fully updated. I have only updated the Feat Levels so far, and that was because I had a pressing need for accurate XP Costs per level for Crafting Skills.

I'll get it fully updated this weekend and post here when it's complete.

My data is not updated and will not be until the start of EE. Sorry folks, but I just don't have time or patience for it right now.

Goblin Squad Member

The Normalized Data has been updated. Enjoy :)

Goblin Squad Member

Added an "Attack Time by Stage" chart to Dazyk's PFO Quick Reference.

This shows the length, in seconds, of each stage of an attack (Validation, Followthrough, and Interrupt).

The range goes from .6 (600 ms) to 3.5 (3500 ms) because all of the attacks currently in the game fall within this range of Attack Time.

Goblin Squad Member

Don't have internet so I can't check;

1- Does the game have tool tips describing what each skill does?
2- Are skill descriptions mentioned anywhere in the spreadsheets?
Thanks

Goblin Squad Member

I will not have internet access for a few more weeks. If anyone can answer the questions above I would appreciate it. :)

Are folks surviving all right without me updating this right now? It occurred to me that it might be a barrier to folks giving feedback to GW if my sheets are not current.

Goblin Squad Member

I am waiting for the XP totals/ various tables so I can start working on 1000XP Coldstart builds (for new independent players and settlement backed players); your format is easier for me to read and understand. :)

The Exp totals for the feats are all still correct EXCEPT the Exp totals for Crafting/Refining/Gathering feats. Those are slightly cheaper than what is currently listed. I made note of what is not up to date at the top of each of the tabs.

Goblin Squad Member

My notes from Alpha 7/8 shows that the knowledge skills had various "gates/requirements" that made some knowledge skills general access, and others realistically role accessed. Is this still the case?

The current requirements info in my tables is up to date with Alpha 10, and has not changed much since Alpha 8, when they did some overhauling it.

I do not think that has changed significantly for Alpha 11.

@Everyone involved it these files/projects:

As I go threw various resources while working on the PFO-Wiki research pages(blogs, developers quotes, gobo casts, alpha and Paizo forums, articles, quotes, Nihimonicon, spreadsheets, sheep entrails....), I am going to be generating a lot of "copy and paste" of materials into word documents as I start organizing information.

I want to share this "raw data" with others. I have no idea how to do this with online documents (like google doc) or "shared data" folders; or even if its the right place to put in Nihimon's folders.

Can someone help me to learn how to share online information in public formats (via PM, TS or email)? I would appreciate it. :)

Goblin Squad Member

@Giorgo (and anyone else interested), to share data publicly:

1. Create a Google account. (Go to google.com, click Sign In, then click Create an account).
2. Click the Apps icon in the upper right hand corner (looks like 9 small squares stacked 3 x 3), then click Drive.
3. Create a new Folder (My Drive -> New Folder) with a reasonably meaningful name.
4. Right-click your new folder and click Share, then click "Get shareable link".
5. Post that link anywhere you want folks to be able to access your Folder.

Anything you place in that folder will be available as a read-only file to anyone who has the link.

Goblin Squad Member

To add to Nihimon's info, if you want people to be able to edit with you (as in the spreadsheet above) then each individual document needs to be shared separately, and one of the options is "anyone with the link can edit"

Sample screen cap images in an editable Google doc on how to make a document publicly editable.

I have updated my tables. I will find Stephen and throw goblin bombs at him if he radically redesigns them in the next build.

Was that throwing normal bombs which by happenstance were previously in the possession of and are deemed the property of aforesaid Goblins? ... or where you intending utilizing aforesaid Goblins as an improvised ranged weapon and throwing the Goblins, in and of themselves, as a form of makeshift bomb ?

I thinking Goblin Skull Bombs, but that sounds a little too permanent.

I don't know, both options listed above are good. I'd have to think on it. Goblins weigh about 30 lbs, right?

Well Warhammer just used Goblin Doom Divers .

I asked Stephen to weigh in on the Alpha forums. Seems like such an important decision should have his input, as well.

Thanks! I will put them to use on my next day off...

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Thanks again to Stephen for updating the source spreadsheets, and for formatting everything there directly.

NOTICE: I will be removing the spreadsheets "Nihimon's Formatting Formulas" and "Nihimon's Formatted Data", since that data is now immediately available in the "Copy of PFO Wiki - Official Data" spreadsheet. I will try to get "Nihimon's Normalized Data" updated soon, but I want to update the code to use the new formats directly first so it might be a few days.

Goblin Squad Member

IMPORTANT NOTICE: I have removed the spreadsheets "Nihimon's Formatted Data" and "Nihimon's Formatting Formulas". This information is now directly available in "Copy of PFO Wiki - Official Data".

I am working on the necessary changes to my code to read the new formats so I can produce an updated "Nihimon's Normalized Data".

Nihimon, why don't you create an open google doc where folks could input the quantity produced as they make it?
That's a good idea. Done. Pathfinder Online (Public) - "Refining Recipes - Please Enter Qty Produced"

I am also removing this spreadsheet as it's no longer needed. Stephen was kind enough to provide the Qty Produced directly, and it doesn't appear that anyone's entered any data that's not available elsewhere now.

Oh good, its finally all in one place, then.

Arg - the forum swallowed my first post ... so second try!

I created a first version of a character planer using the shared dev data which tries to incorporate all dependencies.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8AJSqfiX8Wxdy05eFp6T2g2eDg/view?usp=shari ng

Achievements are treated as feats you need to train at 0 XP value. The planer is a calc sheet using LibreOffice.

a) install Libre Office
b) Add a trusted folder to work around Macro security: Menu Tool/Options - LibreOffice - Security - Macro Security - Trusted Sources - Add Trusted File location
c) copy the file to trusted folder just created
d) restart LibreOffice, load the downloaded file
e) click on the button "MainDialog", a dialog opens after about 5-10s
f) on the left side you see feats/achievements trainable without any prerequisites. The right grid contains all available options(about 750).
g) to filter the many options click on the selection boxes - then click "Update". Please note, doing an update takes a few seconds to complete - it's rather involved.
h) on the left grid select one or more items, then click "Update"
i) Button "Reset" removes everything you can start from scratch
j) Button "Undo Last" removes the last entry
k) Button "Exit" closes the Dialog window
l) The resulting list of feats is on sheet "Main" starting in row 30
m) restarting the MainDialog allows you to continue working on your character

I'd welcome any type of feedback. Error reports, suggestions for improvements, comments if it's (un)usable....

If there is an error - please save the sheet, and tell me in a PM
I) where to download the file
II) and how to reproduce the error

happy gaming

Updated the crafting achievements for the 13 build. I think that is the only change in the advancement and achievement parts of the system.

That's going to make a very big difference on Crafting/Refining gating :)

Also, I've made a new "Copy of PFO Wiki - Official Data" so folks can see the updates.

In short, the Crafting/Refining Achievements now work like most of the others. So, instead of getting 4 Crafting Points for a +3 item, you get 10 (1 + 2 + 3 + 4).

Goblin Squad Member

I have added Nihimon's Reference Sheets to Pathfinder Online (Public) to share tables I create to try to help make sense of the data. Right now, the only tab is Refining Points which shows how many Crafting Achievement Points are generally available at each Rank of a Refining Skill. This is based on the assumption that the Skill has the first Common Recipe available one Rank before the first Uncommon Recipe is available, even though this is not universally true (I believe Apothecary has an Uncommon Recipe available at the same rank the first Common Recipe is available in each Tier).

Goblin Squad Member

Added to Dazyk's Quick Reference:

Weapons by Category
Monsters by Level

Updated:
States / Effects / HUD Icons

to include new information about the Channel colours and what Chevron each effect affects.

Goblin Squad Member

@Nihimon,

I am trying to make sense of the "Pathfinder Online (Public)" Google drive documents; are these documents separate or is their overlap between them: Nihimon's Formatted Data, Nihimon's Lookup Data, Nihimon's Normalized Date, Nihimon's Reference Sheet? /confused.

@Dazyk,

Tab "Skill" cell "E1" named "Social"; wouldn't "Profession/Trade" be more accurate since all the skills their fall under those two categories?

I've created Resources by Hex in the Pathfinder Online (Public) folder.

Anyone should be able to edit that document, so feel free to organize it however you like.

Can someone update it with the new geographic distribution map information please?

There is overlap.

Nihimon's Formatted Data has been retired since Stephen decrypted the source document. The data it used to show can now be found directly in Copy of PFO Wiki - Official Data.

Nihimon's Lookup Data is used when I parse the data to produce Nihimon's Normalized Data. It might be useful to folks, but it's not really intended to be.

Nihimon's Normalized Data should display the data with a worksheet for each database table I have created. This document hasn't been updated in a while and is currently in a less-than-fully-useful state.

Nihimon's Reference Sheets contains the Effect Descriptions from an early Alpha guide, and some worksheets I put together to help me understand and explain how certain things worked.

Goblin Squad Member

@Nihimon,

Thanks for clarifying. I have 3-5 different spreadsheets open trying to understand how things work; anything you can do consolidate information to a "new user reference" friendly experience is greatly appreciated. :)

Nihimon's Reference Sheet is very helpful, are you open to suggestions for new additions to that sheet?

Nihimon wrote about HEX Types:

•NPC - grey with jagged lines - Badlands
•Settlement - gold with pyramid - Settlement
•Wilderness - green with mountains and a tree - Forested Hills
•Badlands - checkered dark and light green - Plains/Farmland
•Monster - yellow (sometimes purple or red) hills - Hills
•Monster Home - three bushy trees - Forest

I would like to request the both Nihimon's Reference Sheet and Dazyk's PFO Reference Sheet include this information in their next update. :)

Actually, I didn't write that. That list is from another user, explaining his misinterpretation of the icons. If you remove the bolded portions above, then you'll have what I wrote.

[Edit] I have added a Hex Types tab to Nihimon's Reference Sheets with these descriptions and a brief explanation.

I apologize for not acknowledgeding authorship correctly, I get confused sometimes. :(

Goblin Squad Member

I don't mind the misattribution, I just don't want to confuse folks further by including the misinterpretations without trying to make clear that they are misinterpretations. I appreciate your dedication to trying to provide new players with helpful information.
