I'm not sure I'd play it personally, but someone needs to write a scenario with this title, connecting the exploration of Jormurdun, Numerian Superbugs, and Gunslingers.

It's thematic, and about the only way to have a scenario with guns in it without creating a HUGE backlash is to say it right in the title of the scenario (even *I* don't consider the title a spoiler).

Go - be awesome!

Scarab Sages

superbugs!? What about microbugs?

Nanites! They are considered parasitic infestations, like disease, only worse

Numeria, Land of the Fallen Stars pages 23-25

Sovereign Court

I concur that someone needs to write this.

Shadow Lodge

Ah, what the hey, I'll take a crack at it. Would anyone be interested in reading it when I'm done?

Shadow Lodge

For anyone who cares:

Background and Summary: Done

Major NPCs: 2/4

Combat Encounters: 1/4

RP Encounters: 1/1

Boxed Text: 3/awholelot

Maps: 2/4

Disk let me know when your done, I will be willing to throw my minions...ahem i mean players through it to see if its too lethal or anything give you feed back and what not

Sovereign Court

I would love to read it when you're done, and could hopefully give it a playtest as well. I mostly run PbP, though, so it might take a little while.

Shadow Lodge

Been busy this week, but I'm hoping to get the mechanical potion of the scenario done over the weekend, and get the fluff and a playtest done the week after.

But until then, here's the blurb.

A fan-made Pathfinder Society scenario designed for levels 7-11.

When a dangerous enemy recovers a cache of powerful Dwarven relics from deep within Jormurdun’s vaults, the Pathfinder Society is forced to unleash a Numerian super weapon. With their enemy on the run, a team of experienced agents is sent into the Darklands, with orders to locate the enemy stronghold, wipe out any remaining pockets of resistance, and recover the stolen artifacts.
However, as the PCs venture further and further into the deep places of the world, they discover the true ramifications of the Society’s actions, and must race against the clock to save a people caught in the crossfire.

Update:
Background and Summary: Still Done

Major NPCs: 4/4 - Done

Combat Encounters: 3/4 - Done

RP Encounters: 1/1 - Still Done

Boxed Text: 6/awholelot

Maps: 4/4 - Done-ish (I'm currently using the Darklands map twice, so I might change it)

Sovereign Court

Would you be willing to post some of what you have done already? I'm very curious.

I'd be very happy to read through your creation and offer feedback Disk - thanks for taking up the challenge!

My email is in my profile.

I'd also be happy to read it and offer feedback. I PMed you my email address.

Shadow Lodge

I appreciate the enthusiasm, however, getting this into a state where it's readable/runnable by other people is proving more difficult than I thought. I should be doing the first playtest (to make sure it's actually fun/winnable) sometime during the next week or so, and I'll send out the scenario shortly after that.

Until then, here's a look at some of the major players in the story.

Sounds neat. What would happen if the PCs fail?

Shadow Lodge

Alright,

I re-wrote the first fight, since it was boring and easy.

Finally found an exploration/tracking mechanic that I like, so, exploring the Abyss-tainted Darklands actually feels interesting and less like a pointless slog.

And I've got the first playtest tentatively scheduled for tomorrow, which means (if all goes as planned) I should be getting the stuff out to you guys on Monday or Tuesday.

Shadow Lodge

Update:

College stuff came up over the weekend, so I got nothing substantial done.

However, I do have all the Stat-blocks/mechanics done and I can type up a bare bones play-as guide, so you all can get a feel for what's going on.

So my question is, do you guys want to read what I've got, even though it's not done?
Or do you want to wait until I have the time to finish and edit it?

Based on my editorial experience, you'll probably get more productive feedback after you have a more polished version. When readers are distracted by searching for numerous grammatical and formatting issues, they tend to be less vigilant about non-style feedback. It would also lock you into an additional round of editing (first the grammar-heavy round, then the content-heavy one).

Sovereign Court

I'd be happy to look through either and give what feedback I can. Mr. Compton is probably right about the advantages of waiting for feedback on the complete version, though.

I appreciate the advice.

Disk,

I also would like to check out this scenario and run it for my "test subjects" when it is polished.

Or before, just let me know.

Thanks!!!

Shadow Lodge

Alright, mid-terms and conventions are over, so I can finally get back to work.

I look forward to what you come up with. I have a Roll20 crew that I would love to play test this with before they head into Eyes of the Ten.

Shadow Lodge

Really wish Paizo would come out for some better rules for building troops. Frankensteining together a whole new creature is a pain.

How is it going??

Still very interested here! And I'm actually better at the stat-block and raw-grammar type editing, so feel free to send it at that point.

If you'd be willing to look it over, I can send you the stuff I've got done.

Well... the first play test finished up about 2 hours ago.

Played at 10-11, with the 4 player adjustment. No hard mode.

Final Stats: 2 player deaths, and a ton of close calls. One death in the first fight, one in the last (as expected).

Run Time: A little over 6 hours, cutting most of the RP, and the flavor encounters.

Which leads me to a problem, everyone liked the encounters, and couldn't agree on one that could be cut, but they wanted more time to explore the world, and interact with the NPCs.

Which means, I can either cut stuff which I feel is necessary for the story, or I can expand it.

Looks like I've got more work to do.

Sovereign Court

Maybe you should declare it a module instead of a scenario? That gives you some more leeway on runtime.

Sovereign Court

Module length may be appropriate. I'd suggest just including everything you want to and seeing how long it is afterwards.

Liberty's Edge

Or make it a trilogy

I'll get you some feedback by Thursday Disk, see if anything could be cut or shortened.

Shadow Lodge

Alright, just an update.

I'm still alive, I'm still working on it, I've just been really busy.

After going over my notes from the playtest, Majuba's feedback, and my story notes, I've decided to expand Guns, Germs, and Stele into a 2-part scenario.

I'll send out the revised summaries to anyone who's interested sometime tonight.

But until then, here are the blurbs.

Thanks for sharing. It does look fun to play. Do you have the statblocks ready as well?

I too would be willing to give the two scenarios a look-over, if more eyes would be helpful to you.

This sounds neat. :)
