Well....
Most mithral armors are one category lighter than normal for purposes of movement and other limitations.
Lets assume it's a normal case and fits into that "most."
The Hellknight vanity is limited to heavy armor, so doesn't work.

I'm not particularly confident in this answer though and could see it going either way.
FAQed.

It does specify that it only counts as medium for the purpose of movement and other limitations. I would be inclined to treat it as heavy.
I would also point out to our ill informed canine that the noble Hellknight Orders are most certainly not evil and instead exist to ensure that good order is maintained throughout glorious Cheliax. Any claims to the contrary are mere propaganda by insurrectionists and rebels who will be dealt with swiftly and decisively wherever they are located.

Crunch: It counts as one category lighter for purposes of movement and other limitations; I'm of the opinion that abilities aren't a "limitation", similar to how a "bonus" isn't a "penalty".
Fluff: It's a bonus to Intimidate stemming from lucking like a heavily-armored bad-ass. Mithral doesn't change the appearance beyond the coloration, so you still look like just as much of a bad-ass in mithral full plate as steel full plate.
