Alchemist and wands

Quick question about wands. My alchemist recently acquired a wand of false life which also happens to be a level 2 extract in the alchemist formula book; does he have to use the use magic device skill to activate the wand? Or is that unnecessary because it's part of his formula book?

Alchemists can use spell trigger items like wands, but not spell completion items like scrolls. It's somewhere in the class description.

If it's on your class formula list you can use it without a problem. It's only for spell completion items (such as scrolls), that you would need UMD for.
