[PFS] Any way for a PC to get pounce?

Advice

Silver Crusade

God I'm all over the place. Just on the first 2 pages I have threads about a wizard, an oracle, a kitsune sorcerer, commented that I had built a ranger I another thread, and now I'm asking about a completely different character. I blame it on HeroLab allowing you to build characters on your iPad now. I'm up to 18 PFS characters and I can't stop. Gotta build 'me all!

So anyway, onto the actual question. Is there any PFS legal way for a PC to get Pounce other than barbarian Greater Beast Totem rage power?

Pretty much all of them require level 10, just as a warning.

Barbarian beast totem

Beastmorph Alchemist

Claw pounce feat for Catfolk (you can only use claws while doing it, but I am fairly sure that the claw blades item turns your claws into regular light blades while still technically labeling them as 'claws' for stuff like this; good for a TWF build)

Vulpine pounce for Kitsune (you have to turn from human form to kitsune form; every other turn basically, since you need to spend a swift action after the prerequisite feats in order to turn back and forth)

Any alchemist of Magus using beast shape II (4th level spell, so it takes until past level 10 for them; Wiz/Sorc get the spell at an earlier level....but really?)

Options that turn on earlier:

Druids-their wild shape works as beast shape II starting at level 6.

Summoners- quadruped eidolons can pounce starting at level 1.

Silver Crusade

Bah that's totally not going to work for a natural attacking scout rogue then.

there are also several pseudo-pounces, off the top of my head:

a 5th level skirmisher ranger can use stag's leap as a free action to make a long jump and then make a full attack

the mounted skirmisher feat allows the mount to move and the PC to make a full attack and is possible at level 10 for a mounted combat style ranger

the 11th level mobile fighter pseudo pounce called rapid attack comes into play

Oh that reminds me-

The Swordmaster archetype for rogue tengu (which stacks with the scout archetype.

At 3rd level, this archetype gains an ability called trance. Essentially, it is kind of a clunky rage (no stat boosts, just the fatigue parts;). You get 4+Wis rounds of trance, plus 1 per level past 3rd. Also, it takes a full round to start a trance.

The advantages you get during this trance is that you get to pick from a number of trances, each giving unique benefits. The important one here, however, is the tiger trance. Essentially, it gives you an extremely conditional pounce (you have to pass maneuver check; If nothing else, it should allow you to take out casters fairly quickly)

Not entirely sure how useful this is....but yes, it gives you a pseudo pounce of a rogue by level 3 (And it stacks with scout), and it is on a race that gives you 3 natural attacks from the get go.

Kitsune, but you need to wait for level

Silver Crusade

Well, thanks guys. This is a tiefling rogue so none of those are going to work. I'll have to settle for a single attack with sneak attack after a charge and just stay there and full attack afterwards.

A level that would never come in PFS. That feat needs BAB +10, which means level 14 for rogues. And unless I am off base with PFS, their level range is something like 1-12, right?

Mostly right. PFS is 1-12, but you can play passed that with modules and special scenarios.

.....wow, you actually caught that before I deleted it. Sorry about that, I just reconsidered whether the message was appropriate since BigNorseWolf might have been responding to the original prompt rather than the 'natural attack rogue' thing. Sorry for the confusion.

The closest that can be done is taking 6 levels of rogue followed by 3 levels of Horizon Walker then using feat retraining from UCamp (legal last I checked for PFS although the PP cost might make it impractical) to get Dimensional Dervish.

Scarab Sages

Quick Runner shirt can get you an extra move action once per day, which can be a lot like having pounce.

Tiger's Hide Armor will get it for you, but at considerable cost.

Silver Crusade

Quick Runner's Shirt is not PFS legal

Unless I am completely missing something about the horizon walker, I don't see how Dimensional Dervish is going to help me if I can't teleport...

Lvl 10 as a kitsune summoner with a quadruped eidolon using Aspect.

Tiger style? Move up to half your movement towards someone you hit with an unarmed strike on the previous round and still full attack?

Then take feral combat training and apply it to the natural attack? A little feat intensive but it does detract from your to hit issues and mobility issues at the same time.

Horizon Walker can grant Dimension Door with Terrain Dominance (Astral).

I think I read every Terrain Dominance except that one. Now I'm trying to decide if I can sacrifice 3 feats and the retraining costs to be able to do this a few times a day. I don't know if it's worth it.

The bigger cost imho is the 3 levels of rogue which equals no advanced rogue talent, minus 1.5 dice of sneak attack damage, and improved uncanny dodge being put off to level 11 (also 1.5 rogue talents but since there aren't that many good talents it isn't very bad). And the Prestige cost, note that you only have to retrain 2 feats
