If a character has a profane bonus to AC, how would you describe it in-game?
Deflection and dodge bonuses can easily be described, but if you only miss because of a characters profane bonus, how would how describe that happening?

In actuality you never 'miss because of a profane bonus' you miss because their total AC is higher than the hit roll you rolled. Their isn't any order of what makes you miss. It all works together to create one AC.
