1. What are some important feats for "save or suck" casters? So far I've got Persistent Spell, Heighten Spell, Spell Focus, and Greater Spell Focus. The character this is for is going to be specializing in an up close and personal SoS spell, so he'll also need Combat Casting. That leaves me two open feat slots, which will probably be taken at 9 and 11. Since this is for PFS, the level 11 feat will get very little use out of it. So, any suggestions?

2. Isn't there a race trait that gives you a bite attack? I'm trying to put together a natural attacking tiefling rogue, and I was hoping for more than just the two claws from Maw or Claw. I could have sworn there was a half-orc trait that gave you a bite attack which I could have picked up with the Adopted trait, but now I can't find it. If there isn't a way to get a bite attack via trait, is there another way to get one?

Regarding your 2nd question, the trait in question is "Tusked." It's from Orcs of Golarion.

As for your first question, it might be a good idea to pick up Spell Penetration and Greater Spell Penetration. Spell Resistance can easily screw you over when trying to cast save or suck spells.

Scarab Sages

I prefer a Metamagic Rod of Piercing Spell to deal with SR. It's enough to get you by the few enemies that have it, and it doesn't take up two feats.

But, if you really want to make sure you punch through Spell Resistance, take both feats and the rod.

Though, as a sorcerer, there is something really fun about casting a spell and having it be defeated by spell resistance. Only to cast the spell next round and apply Piercing Spell.

"Mortal magic cannot harm me!"
<uses piercing spell to punch through Spell Resistance>
"Care to re-evaluate your stance on mortal magic now?"

Uh, yeah, I'm not gonna be a sorcerer...

And thanks for the tips. I'll make Spell Pen and Greater Spell Pen my level 9 and 11 feats. Or maybe:

Traits: Magical Lineage and Wayang Spellhunter in my specialty spell
Human: Combat Casting
1: Persistent Spell (yes I will be able to use this this early)
3: Spell Focus (illusion)
5: Heighten Spell
7: Spell Penetration
9: Greater Spell Focus
11: Greater Spell Penetration

That will mean at level 11 I could cast a persistent heightened spell with a save DC of 25 and they will have to make the save twice.

And with Combat Casting, Spellguard Bracers, and Gloves of Elvenkind, I'll have no trouble making my concentration checks to cast defensively.

And with Spell Pen, Greater Spell Pen, and a Rod of Piercing Spell, I'll basically be at a +9 to overcome spell resistance.

I assume you're already using maw or claw from the teifling alternate traits for claws? it lets you get either a bite 1d6 or 2 claws 1d4 each in exchange for your spell like ability to cast darkness

i suppose one could make a teifling sorcerer of draconic bloodline and get claws and a bite that way, which is something i might consider as a character now...

Or dip 2 levels of ranger with the natural weapon combat style for Aspect of the Beast, along with Maw alt. racial trait.

Ok, these 2 questions were not for the same character. The first question was for the human heavens oracle I'm putting together. I now have his feats planned out through level 11 and it will be very funny when I can tell the GM, "Ok I'm casting a persistent heightened color spray out of a level 3/4/5 slot. Make a DC 23/24/25 will save, and make it twice or you're unconscious."

The 2nd question was for a tiefling rogue I'm also building. I am going to make it a tanky type rogue with high Dex, Offensive Defensive and Pressure Points rogue talents, and I was hoping to just make him a natural attacker because I really don't like dual-wielding with a 3/4 BAB class.

That being the case i looked through all the teifling racial traits and nothing specifically gives you both claws and bites seems you'll have to choose one or the other seems your only choice if you don't want the level dip to ranger is to Consult your DM about the variant abilites

OR

take the Fiendish Heratage feat at level 1 and get both attacks although by RAW you have to roll 3 times and choose one of those 3. Maybe your DM will just let you choose the one you want to get 2 claws and a bite attack? and maybe you can move the ability bonuses around if you didn't like the base ones

I love teiflings....

Silver Crusade

Oh this is for PFS so I'll have to take the Adopted trait and then take Tusked. Oh, and I have Blood of Fiends to get the alternate heritages.
