Oh, worst as in useless. The winner in the previous thread was Caustic Slur, it's just so bad for so many reasons it's ridiculous.
- Standard Action
- Usable only on a fairly narrow set of enemies (Favored Enemies that can understand you)
- Allows a Will save
- Requires you to use a fairly poor race/class combo (Gnome Ranger)
- Does not actually force the target to attack you
- Buffs the target by giving them a feat (Power Attack) for free. If they already have Power Attack, it gives them the next increment.
Literally the only positive thing this does for you is debuff one enemy's attack rolls by 1, provided they attack you, and do so in melee. You could just take Dodge if you wanted that. Dodge is infinitely better than this feat, and almost everyone regards Dodge as a subpar feat tax anyways.

Captain K. wrote:Eh not really anymore after the Paragon Surge FAQ. It's still pretty good but its not really a big issue anymore.Expanded Arcana when used with Paragon Surge.
Though I have never seen anyone try it in a real game, it's just a CO annoyance.
Really? I missed that.
*has a look..*
Ah, it was only updated 8th Juty.
"Half-Elf, paragon surge: Can I cast paragon surge multiple times in a day to gain different benefits?
No. The first time each day that you cast paragon surge, you must select a feat and make all the associated choices that come with it. Once that choice is made, it is set for the day and additional castings must make the exact same decisions."
So you can now pick one spell a day with Expanded Arcana. Far less abusive, though it's still a get out of jail card.

[snark]Oh, don't worry, once you get 14 ranks it is literally impossible to fail the check so you'll never have to roll again! Free metamagic for everyone[/snark]
Seriously, once you reach Level 10 it is very difficult to fail the check. Add to that the two (basically) free metamagic feats you gain every time you take Sacred Geometry and your ability to use it as many times a day as you want, and I'm rather shocked this feat was approved. It is simultaneously game-breakingly powerful and time-consuming (without practice).
Hit up this thread if you want to talk about what can be done to balance this feat.
