This week the sassy pants came back out as Kabal, fresh off a recruiting binge it seems rocketed up to number 6, displacing Tavernhold from F and into C (which pushed the Gauntlet out of C despite their hunker down bonus and into D). There was a lot of recruiting paying off this week aside from Kabal as the new Kreuz Bernstein moved up a few spots, Ozem's Vigil snaked around Aragon, and Blackwood Glade moved up but didn't cause any disruptions. The Bastard Sons of Daggermark got back on the list after a long absence thanks to so many mid tier merges.

Thanks for the update. Still surprised at the lack of consolidation to be honest.

Goblin Squad Member

Am I the only one who would pay to see Kabal and Tavernhold in a tag team Beerfest competition for the spot?

Goblin Squad Member

I'm down.

Goblin Squad Member

Interesting that nobody bigger wanted G. I'd have thought being next to the paladins would be more attractive.

I've got a list of hexes I can't believe didn't get more attention. But I don't want people misinterpreting my intentions so i'll wait till its over to express my thoughts on them.

Goblin Squad Member

Not a lot of growth area in G, with Callambea to the East.

Iron Gauntlet appears to be "T"rapped in "T", poor bastards.

Goblin Squad Member

Maybe they like it there? After all, they rank a bit higher than a couple of other guilds.

Yeah- except for all that wide-open space to the south, with 3 towers in its B-ring that are closer to G than anyone else.

Goblin Squad Member

Or maybe they just signed up and never set their settlement order picks.

I was expecting Callambea to show a great deal of interest in those, rather than contesting their ally Freevale for the ones on the mountain.

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

And we stay in V for the 9th week running. I expected Kabal in a different place - but who am I to know.

Goblin Squad Member

Your not the only one.

Goblin Squad Member

Home sweet Home! Getting the porch finished and the rocking chairs put out.

Where did you expect us to go, btw? Just curious.

Goblin Squad Member

We all know where you really want to be.

Goblin Squad Member

I was closest! I guessed C or D. Didn't think they would end in F again after the earlier Tavernhold dispute. Maybe a Land Rush drinking contest will settle any claims either group has to the hex.

@Bunibuni, hope you're using wood from the Midlands to make that rocking chair. You did spend some time in Q. ;)

Goblin Squad Member

I have one made of cedar. One of maple. and one of redwood.

I hope I'm not the only one for whom that triggered the tune of "Yellow Submarine"

Really want to be

I will reveal it in case I'm right next week. If not - no need to get a settlement afraid of the space they think belongs to them.

Goblin Squad Member

Technically, other than LR1 winners, nobody has anything that belongs to them yet.

I'm not saying we are moving again. I'm just saying... I always had a soft spot for mountains, swamps and plains.. (oh my!)

Goblin Squad Member

Plains are like croplands, right?

It's on like Donkey Kong.

Incidentally, I've never understood that reference. On what? A scaffolding? Throwing barrels at plumbers?

Let's have a drinking competition for the hex on a scaffolding involving throwing barrels at plumbers, is what I'm saying.

I always took it as competitive point scoring in the arcade version.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

According to the internet Ice Cube was the origin of that phrase.

"Friend: Yo dog, I just hooked up like 2 kegs and got all the honies from Alpha Epsilon Omega to come to the party you gotta check this shit there is like 4 girls to every 1 guy!

Me: Snap, Its on like donkey kong, nigga!"

Goblin Squad Member

@Thod, you know, in order to make that work, you need to seal it in an envelope with sealing wax now and not open it until after next weeks draft.

Otherwise, how can we be assured its legit? ;)

Hunh. I didn't remember that part where Kong was drunk with 4 women at the frat party. But then again, I never did beat that game. Cube musta played that game a ton. Live and learn.

At least the drinking competition makes more sense now.

Contesting? I see it as a handy little bit of insurance. We'll settle who of us two gets that tower later, but the one thing that's sure is it will be one of us. No way are we gonna let some foreigner stroll in and grab it from right between our territories. :D

EDIT: I can't speak for Callambea, obviously (hell, I only speak for Freevale because I managed to break out of the basement while Gpunk wasn't looking). We haven't made any guarantees either way. This is just a hunch. ;)

You could have spoken for us, I think this is one of those situations where we are on the same page. One of our settlements will have that tower. An outside entity owning it will be costly.

If you look where Kabal has been before, it's F D R AC Q Q F. Doesn't take a genius to figure out where they're heading:
It all points to R!

Awesome.

Sunnfire, of THAT'S what you've been planning from the start I'll eat my frilly elven kilt.

Or maybe that's what we want you to think!

Goblin Squad Member

WOW! And WOW ! Again! The boss is brilliant even when he doesn't know he is being brilliant! There will be no living with him for weeks now! Go thing I'm not living with him but I pity his wife and kids.

Goblin Squad Member

I wonder why our HDB is lesser than last week. (talking about Kreuz Bernstein / Eastern Sun)

Goblin Squad Member

Emp wrote:

Because the closer to tenth place you get, the smaller the HDB. 11th place has the smallest, whereas 33rd place has the largest. Your settlement moved up several places.

Goblin Squad Member

Hmmm...
look at the numbers,

Last week:
15 Eastern Sun 28 42 H

This week:
14 Kreuz Bernstein 30 39.9 H

1 place up, two votes up, hdb down by 2.1
I tought as long as you are not in the top 10, you are getting each week an addition to your actually hdb. Or i'm wrong with that?

You apparently lose previous HDB as you move up in the ranks. I know you lose it all if you move into 10th place.

Goblin Squad Member

But why? We didn't change our location nor moved in the top 10.

Goblin Squad Member

Emp wrote:

Hi,

Did you move up in rank? When you do, the percentage of bonus gets smaller as you get closer to rank #10.

Goblin Squad Member

I believe it was an error. I'm going to tag Lee on this.

I think the following bonus numbers are errors:
Kreuz Bernstein dropped for some reason
Agents of Erastil didn't increase as much as I'd expect.
vVv has no bonus, though I think they didn't move
Iron Gauntlet has no bonus, though I think they didn't move.

I'm assuming bonus doesn't apply if you don't pick your same hex, but not that it goes away.

VvV and Iron Gauntlet may not have received a bonus because they are not in their first choice.

Goblin Squad Member

De nada.

Goblin Squad Member

One day into the final week of the land rush, we have 1520 votes on the leaderboard, and of those, 1302 are in settlements at the moment.

The only increases in settlement size so far this week are one each for KotC and Kabal.

EDIT:

Whoops, got my joining groups wrong, got Elkhaven joining Ozem's Vigil and Quadrivium joining Elkhaven mixed up. Correcting. In any case, Kreuz Bernstein should have a hunker down of .54

Agents of Erastil should have gone up .04 more, and thus have a modified score of 14.392. Again good catch. Not sure what I did on that one, so again good catch.

vVv Gaming and Iron Gauntlets did not have the same position as last week as their first choice so no hunker down bonus. vVv Gaming had a hunker down bonus in week 5 of .16, but have been bumped out of that spot long ago. Both groups have been bumped around a lot and have never been in their first choice since the hunker down rules were clarified to only apply to first choices.
