It's been established that the Crafter's Fortune bonus can be used for day job rolls.
Assuming the scenario ends in a town of 5,000 people, can a player purchase a Crafter's Fortune spell (10gp) to use on their Day Job roll? This is definitely profitable for those with a reasonable check bonus.

That's what I'd like to think, too; my characters tend to do Perform for day jobs, so it doesn't matter much to me in that arena. I do occasionally GM too, though, so I like to have solid grounds for saying that this or that can't be done in dealing with players.
For now, I'll just hope that no one tries this :)

No, because spell effects from NPC's end at the close of a scenario. If you want the skill bonus, you need to be able to cast the spell yourself.

How about the wand?
The wand won't work because... how many charges would it be?
Day Jobs occur in the abstract time between scenarios. A wand of crafter's fortune gives a bonus for 1 day - is that 10 charges? 30? 5? 7?... no one knows.
My 11th level wizard casts an extended crafter's fortune as a standard buff, and it lasts 22 days, but even that isn't good enough to add to a day job roll, because, again... is 22 days enough? more than enough? not enough? There's no answer. It's only because he can spam it with no cost that it can be assumed to add to day job rolls.
You need to have the spell.
(You COULD buy a 2nd level ring of spell knowledge: crafter's fortune, and then you'd "have the spell", though that's a 6000gp option, and probably not worth it. A spontaneous arcane caster could buy a page of spell knowledge: crafter's fortune, which at 1000gp *might* be worth it.)
If the amount of time a day job represents is ever codified, THEN we can think in terms of wands. Not until then, though.

No such rule exists; spell effects are spell effects are spell effects, and the source doesn't matter.
That said, spellcasting services cost money, and with this being a day/level spell, it essentially has a per day cost to keep up, with an undefined number of days that it is needed, and thus an undefined cost.
In other words, you can't use spellcasting services to add Crafter's Fortune to your Day Job for the same reason you can't use a wand or scroll: because you need it up for the whole downtime period, and that period is undefined, so the number of castings required is undefined.
As David pointed out, a spellcaster (or alchemist) who can cast the spell with their own spell slots can cast it at no cost using their otherwise unused daily spell slots, so they CAN keep the spell up indefinitely, which is why they can get the bonus on Day Jobs.
