I always liked the +5 bow and a line of 100 commoners dragon defense trick - shoot, drop next one picks up, shoots, drop etc etc etc = 100 shots!

And if your DM likes physics have a PC you don't like at the end of the line so they get splattered rail gun style by a bow that has moved 500 ft in a sec or two.

Has any made a really good Aid Another build?

Two words:

Henchmen + whips

With a whip's 15' reach, you are usually safely out of harm's way and you can fit a lot of people in that radius.

Isn't there a limit to the number of people you can get aid another bonuses from?

(In 4e, failing an aid another actually penalizes the check, and the DC goes up, but not very fast. As a result, in that scenario you would have to calculate all those incoming bonuses.)

There is no limit except that imposed by the GM.

Multiple characters can aid the same friend, and similar bonuses stack.

Seems like an absolute statement, meaning GM FIAT limits would result in being a houserule.

One that I would probably agree with for balance purposes, but it's certainly not the RAW or RAI of the Devs.

There are hard limits on how many aid another checks you can get. But they're based on physics rather than RAW. If you assume everyone has 5ft reach, medium, and is airborne you can get up to a +48 bonus against a medium sized opponent on attack or AC. If everyone is on the ground than the bonus reduces to +14.

True, and that's not what we're getting at. That "hard limit" isn't imposed by the GM, as RD claims it to be, it's a limit imposed by the mechanics of the game.
