Improvement for next adventure path

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

I just heard that a few gamers decompose their decks after every adventure. So how about giving every card a card number (like MTG on the bottom left) so you can easily note what cards you got.

This will save you also making up new card lists for the character sheet for every new adv. path. Just provide a checkbox & number sheet 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ...

What do you think about this improvement ?

For MTG that's more of a collector's number than anything else. In order for it to work you would still need to be able to cross reference against a master list of all the cards available in order to reconstruct your decks, in which case you might as well just use the character sheets that are available where you can easily list your deck contents and then reconstruct while looking for a name that is splashed out on top of the card rather than looking for a little number in the corner.

I get what you're trying to do with this suggestion, but I think the cross referencing would end up taking longer than what is currently already provided.

With how many unique boons there are, I think having a number instead of names on the sheets would just like very poor quality. I don't want to look at my list and see "I have 7 and 32!", I want to to see "I have Flaming Ranseur and Poog of Zarongel!". A bunch of numbers and nothing just looks... bad, I think. I don't see an issue with numbering the cards, but the benefit just isn't there. Like Biggs said, those numbers in other games are 9 times out of 10 collector numbers.

The idea was sort of mentioned before. Since each card has a unique name, there isn't much benefit to each card having a unique number.

I've played Magic and several other TCG and LCG games for years, and I've never seen a decklist which used card numbers + set identifier as a main way to identify cards in them instead of card names (plus often card type).

LCG deck lists sometimes have that as an additional information, but it's mostly usefull to know if you have the appropiate expansion which includes said card than for actual deck building.
