A few questions for those with more than two arms...

Rules Questions

First off, besides being a kasatha or another race with quadramanial capabilities, or the extra arms you can get by being an alchemist, is there any other way to get more than two arms?

Second, if you do have more than two arms, what happens if you use all four to wield something like a greataxe? If two arms give +1.5 stength, would wielding a weapon as such increase the amount of damage even more? I'd say if yes, it'd only be applicable to hafted weapons, as greatswords and one handed weapons don't really have the room to do so.

Third, this seems pretty obvious, but if you have 2+ arms and you're a magus, can you wield a scythe and still do spell combat and spellstrike?

there are no rules on what advantage you gain from wielding for more than 2 hands, so right now, it's just 1.5 since there's nothing for 3 or 4 or 10...

By the rules you don't get anything extra.

One might rule they get in the way or that the hilt is to small to account for more than 2 hands.

AS for the magus question the answer will likely be no if the devs give an answer, since the devs were dead set against the magus doing anything with any off hand other than casting a spell, but for now there is no rule on it.

Well, by RAW, I couldn't use spell combat, it specifically calls out light or one handed weapon, but I could do spellstrike, as it states any weapon the magus is wielding.

Yes, you could do that and also avoid the -2 penalty that spellstrike gives. Since devs tend not to reply to FAQ post with several question what you should do is ask the question about the multi-armed creature + magus in another thread.

The idea of using a multi-armed creature was likely not thought of since the class was made primary for pc's.

PS: I am aware that you did not ask for an FAQ, but it is a good question to FAQ.

Silver Crusade

I asked James Jacobs,in the ask JJ thread about multi-armed races and he told me that the core combat assumtions would have to be redesigned if multi-armed pc's were pathfinderized.

So, how should I ask it to get an FAQ response? Tend to psche myself with type of thing... Should I just ask the general question of how it would alter the class or should I give specific examples?

we should make a FAQ with the question

"3 hands, what do?"
