Can an alchemist become intoxicated / drunk?

Rules Questions

First off, not sure whether this should be in this topic area or under home rules...
Under the alchemist class feature at a certain point he becomes immune to poisons. Does this apply to alcohol as well? I'm not sure, and my dm thus far has been playing it as being immune to getting drunk as well. but, in a recent session, it was brought up that i may in fact be able to enjoy the brew to it's full effects. is there somewhere that i can look to clarify my confusion on this subject?

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if that was indeed the case.

Considering some of the stuff alchemists put in their body already...

I do believe Alcohol is a poison in Pathfinder. I remember it came up before in a conversation about why Dwarves can drink ungodly amounts of ale and not die. Its that racial+2 v. Poison[the +2Con helps too].

Mechanically, Alcohol is considered a Poison in Pathfinder. The relevant rules are in the Gamemastery Guide, which is in the PRD.

As far as I can tell, alcohol is *not* considered poison in Pathfinder.

The only rules I can find on drugs and alcohol are from the GMG and don't suggest as much anyhow. Drugs

Maybe there are some rules elsewhere on this? Seems like it should be at least closely related.

That's kind of funny to think about. The host drugs everybody's drinks. The Thief sees it happen and doesn't drink. The Human Barbarian and Wizard drink deeply and pass out. The party Dwarf and Alchemist just say, "Hmm! Strong Stuff! and keep drinking."

In the same vein, Paladins are immune to addiction (Because it's treated as a disease)
