Okay, it's still a long was off, but I had a question regarding any special weapons that are handed out on the module sheets. Say my character is given the chance to buy a sword of life stealing, which is of course a standard longsword, would I be able to purchase it as a rapier or dagger, or is it only the default longsword? IIRC, there was a ruling for the main game that you can do that with special weapons, but I'ld like a ruling for PFS. Probably won't ever come up, but it's the sort of thing that people need to know.

Changing mechanical effects or qualities of a named magic item is not allowed, so you would not be able to change the base weapon type. That said, sometimes Chronicle sheets include alternate versions of a named magic item, such as a kukri of life stealing.
I try to remember that these are treasures that folks would enjoy, thus putting them on Chronicle sheets more often.
