Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

Maybe I haven't looked around enough, but I've been trying to do my homework to tell my group about PFS plans to inlcude the Adventure Card Game. I search for ACG and I get messages about the Advanced Class Guide, so it makes searching a little confusing.

Any help on a clear and direct answer here would be appreciated!

I do not believe there has ben any public announcement about the Pathfinder Society Organized Play campaign incorporating the card game.

The card game is starting its own organized play environment. Take a look at the discussion here.

Well, technically the card game's new organized play program IS part of the overall Pathfinder Society, insofar as it will be run by venture officers and there will be small awards for PFS characters earned by playing the card game organized play.

Paizo's staff is very busy at the moment getting ready for Gencon, so it's not super easy to get answers at the moment, but I've been told that if you want to run the card game's organized play, contact your local venture officer, or if you don't have one, email Mike Brock, and say that you are interested in doing so. Make sure that you have a location set up for it (they're starting the program at local game stores first, and then releasing the OP scenarios for purchase as small bundles of PDFs later).

Yep.

I still don't consider the card game a part of Pathfinder Society, any more than I consider the novels line part of PFS. It's a product line that has a small boon-like crossover with the OP campaign.

I will be curious to see how they decide to organize the website come GenCon, because from what I've read, the term "Pathfinder Society" will be an umbrella that covers organized play for both the RPG and the Card Game.

All that's correct. The press release here explains how retailers can sign up for the program.

And it's correct that the Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Guild is, as the name suggests, under the Pathfinder Society umbrella.

Hi Vic,

The press release says that a store has to be registered with paizo.com/retailers. Well, I know I am registered (the little tag next to my name seems to indicate that), but I don't see any additional thing that needs to be done to assure that I am part of this program. As I am very interested in running this, I want to make sure I don't miss out, like I did with the Pathfinder Comic promotion last month. Any further information would be appreciated.

Drogon,

On the tab that asks you about which lines you carry, there are also checkboxes for expressing your interest in PFSACG and PFSRPG play. Make sure you check them appropriately. We'll be sending out an email or two in a couple of weeks.

Ah. Good point. I haven't had to look at that list in years. Thanks for reminding me. (-:

Edit: You even added little boxes indicating interest in PFS and the PFACL. I like that.

Love your store, Drogon. Count me in as a player interested in organized play!

Those new little boxes are the key—checking the PFSACG one is how you'll get the card game scenarios for free.

Free? Awesome. You guys are making some good decisions these days. Now you just need to add a third scenario to your monthly publication schedule for PFS. You know, in case you haven't seen me say this before. (-;

By the way: you should add the Pathfinder Comic to the list of products carried. I know "comics" is there, but that item is a bit more specific to you.

Good call on the comics line! I'll get that into the queue.

Dammit. I knew I shouldn't have put something shiny in that post to distract you from my other request...

Thanks for all the replies and information. Awesome community!

How long does it usually take for a store to be approved on the Retailers page? My local store (Curious Games, Alamogordo, NM) signed up a week ago, but they haven't been added to the page yet. I've been waiting to make sure they are able to get in on the organized play before I have them order class decks for me and my wife, and before I put in to be made a Regional Coordinator (card game only, for now).

Also, I noticed that there are two sections for New York on the page and North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire, and Nevada are not in proper alphabetical order. Figured I'd mention it since that's the section I keep staring at when I try to find my local store.

Sorry, we've been a bit overwhelmed in our customer service inbox. I'm going through the retailers now in the queue. I'll probably have all the ones in there currently up by Monday afternoon.
