What happened to my Adventure Deck 6? It transformed.

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

Hey folks,

I know there is the new movie "Transformers 4" out there, but who wants to own a transformed adventure deck 6? I dont.

In media res:
Why does the adventure deck 6 has its opening lid at the right side and not on the top as ALL my other adventure decks???

I almost want to return these as they do NOT fit into my ENTIRE adventure deck collection! (Paid a lot of import fees and VAT).
Damn!

@customer service: could you please send me the CORRECT version of the adventure deck 6 which have the opening lid at the top PLEASE! So i have a complete consistent adventure deck collection. This is very important to me.

I ordered 5 adventure decks and all have the wrong opening.... GRRRR!

... Or the angry pirates will board you and capture ALL your adventure decks - not only 5 pieces ;-)

HARRRR!!!

That means you got second printing (top / made in China is first, side / USA second). Vic had stated in another thread that first printings were all being sent to preorders, subscribers, and first runs to retailers, because that many people like the game. Unfortunately, Paizo most likely has no more first printings to give you.

And because someone will comment asking why -- The first prints from China had horribly inconsistent coloring, so Paizo switched to a U.S. printer with very consistent coloring and sizing. Unfortunately, the second prints are consistent is each other, but the size is different than the first. The U.S. printer will be used from now on, so in future so sets you could get every box from a different print run and still have it match. According to Vic (haven't seen a comparison myself), the size differences aren't noticeable unless you're trying to see it, or absolutely OCD about having your decks perfectly lined up.

Just a side note here. I do not know of anyone that shuffles without first lining the cards up, even when doing the basic overhand shuffle or even when making piles. Everyone I have ever seen always squares the cards first. When you do this with the second printing cards mixed in with the first printing cards, it's quite easily noticeable.

Once you have the decks made, if you mess them up a bit, then, of course, it's not as easily noticeable, but because you already know about it, it's quite easy to see it without looking too hard. It's hard for most people to unknow something they know.

Luckily, I ended up receiving all first printing without there being too much coloration differences and only a few cards had bleeding or black dots, so I can't complain too much. However, I have seen pictures of some of the major card issues that the first printing had, and can totally understand why the choice was made to move printing to the states. I do feel for the people that ended up with separate printings for things, though, especially late in the run, when there were fewer and fewer first prints available.

To Myfly: you may want to post here and over at boardgamegeek.com to see if anyone received the first printing and wanted the second printing instead. If someone has, then you can discuss a trade with them, even if it may be somewhat expensive to deal with any customs or import/export fees depending on where you are; it'd probably help you and them enjoy the game a bit more, so it may be more than worth it.

I was a subscriber for the RotR adv. Path. Reason for cancelation : SS base set shipping costs to Europe. So I should get the 5 chinese top-loader boxes for adv. Deck 6 !!!

So adv. Deck 0 till 5 are chinese, why should I keep an american printed one which not only differs from the box construction but also in card size! No way! I am not only a PACG player, but also a PACG collector ;-).
I had 5 subscriptions for the chinese version, not for the american one.

Hopefully, the customer service will fix it.

Sincerely,
The quintiplicate ex-PACG subscriber!

I am a 5-times PACG subscriber, so I have 5 wrong copies here in Germany... Do you know how much it will cost me to trade these separately with 5 different guys in the states (i think there are not so many 5-times subscribers for a one time trade)...it is not only time consuming, but furthermore i have to pay 5 times the SHIPPING, import charges and VAT again. No way! That is the job for the customer service !!!

... And the WORST thing - i finally got the adventure deck 6 here in Germany, but i cannot play it!
I have to WAIT again over 30 days (USA to Germany shipping time) to receive the right chinese version! AND HAVE to pay import charges & VAT AGAIN!

Sorry, but this drives me angry... Spending so much money and then getting choked with the last adventure deck.

Two questions -- In your last post, why are you talking about trading your first prints? It would be far easier to trade your one second print deck than trading 4 other adventures plus the base set.

Second, did you receive the sixth adventure through your subscription? Or did you cancel before that (totally understand cancelling the base set, especially overseas) and then order the adventure separate? If it was through the subscription, hopefully Paizo can do something to help, but it's unlikely. If you ordered it separate, I don't think there's much of a reasonable expectation to get the first print. They aren't going to be able to just have another of those printed, and likely won't really have anything they can do.

I think Firedale has the right idea though. I've seen quite a few people trading items for the other printing, and I doubt it will be hard to find someone with the first printing Adv. 6 who would love to have your second print.

Andrew,

No i was not talking about trading my first prints. I received 5 pieces of advent. Deck 6 expansions of second print. So i have to trade all 5 pieces of adventure deck 6 second version against 5 pieces of adventure deck 6 fiirst chinese version. So i have to trade 5 times the adventure deck 6. Far too complicated, too expensive, not my job! I ordered always first edition!

I received my adv. Deck 6 thru my subscription. After it was mailed i cancelled the subscription.

By the statement that you ordered 5x Adventure Deck 6s, it sounds like you might be selling them to others there or you have friends that you ordered for. I can't think of why a person would purchase more than 2 decks for personal use only.

Instead of taking all the expense on yourself, why not have whoever you purchased them for help out, since it was beyond your control.

If you're selling them to others there, though, then it kinda is your job, lol.

Either way, good luck!

Paizo can't mail you 1st printings if they no longer have them, nor can they print more of the first printing to help you out. Your options are a bit limited at this point, but I hope you can get things fixed in a way that you're happy or at least less angry.

Hi Myfly. I sympathise (it would bug me too). I think your best bet would be to start a thread in the customer service forum: which can be found here.

Customer service will probably see the posts here, but it might take a while. If you use the Customer Service forum they'll see it quicker. I'm not sure what they'll be able to do though, I think they ran out of the first printing (no doubt the reason you got second printing decks). They may have the means to rectify it though..

Are you sleeving your cards? If so, then the cards themselves won't be an issue for you. (I think I remember you talking about sleeves before). So if it is just the box itself that you want, someone might be willing to mail you just the empty box, as lots of people don't keep them. It can be carefully folded flat for mailing and I would think would not incur import tax.

Just an idea.

As you know you need 5 Blessings to play with. And that is how it got started... 5 promo Blessings of Zarongel.

I would think playing with 5 of each promo would be a little unbalancing if you're using all of them. 5 Blessings of Zarongel I could see I suppose, but what are you doing with all the extra cards? Are you playing with 10 Disintergrates, etc... in play?

Everybody in my play group collects the PACG for himself. It is a GREAT game...

In this way, we could utilize mor promo cards...
Who does not want to have a poog in his deck? ;-)

To each their own, but if you're running in a party that each character has a poog of their own and your Ezren has 5 disintergrates and your Lini has 3 swipes and 4 mass cures... eh... you're kinda making a game that has been called too easy by many even easier, but if that is how your group enjoys the game, more power to you!

NOOO!

We are playing only with one expansion of each and three promo cards except the 5 promo blessings.
To make to game more difficult we add 2 additional locations plus all monsters are equivalent to the adventure number more harder to defeat.

Thats no easy game. Believe me!
