Is a creature also an object for spell targetting purposes?

Rules Questions

Do 'creature' and/or 'object' get definitions anywhere? Specifically I'm wondering if a creature is also an object for purposes of spells that target an object.

Can I cast light on my cat?

All I could find in the PRD was:

"Target or Targets: Some spells have a target or targets. You cast these spells on creatures or objects, as defined by the spell itself."

Also, note that there are lots of examples of spells that work on one or the other. For example, Locate Object versus Locate Person.

You could cast the spell on your cat's collar or ribbon.

Ah, I missed that. Thanks.

It isn't totally conclusive ("A or B" doesn't imply "no A's are B's"), but it's good enough for me.

This might be more conclusive that an object and a creature are mutually exclusive.

No, creatures are not objects.

You cannot cast light on your cat. You could however cast light on your cats collar if you wanted.

The phrase "one creature or object" has no reason to exist if all creatures are objects.

Why should i define a definition ?
