Can I buy an item from my chronicle sheet even if I don't own the book in which it's found?

For example, the Traveler's Anytool is listed on one of my chronicle sheets. I'd like to buy it, but I don't own a copy of "Ultimate Equipment". Can I legally buy this item?

Thanks!

I don't think so.

From the Guide (Chapter 1, Additional Resources):

"In order to utilize content from an Additional Resource, a player must have a physical copy of the Additional Resource in question, a name-watermarked Paizo PDF of it, or a printout of the relevant pages from it, as well as a copy of the current version of the Additional Resources list."

Nothing in here says that just because it's on a chronicle, you don't need the source doc.

@Sabre: Thank you for this reference.

After reviewing the information from the Guide, I would have to agree with Sabre that you would still need to have the source for the item. The fact that it is on the chronicle sheet, only gives you the option to purchase the item without having to meet the fame requirement for that purchase.

Thanks, Sabre and Preston! That makes sense, and I figured that would be the case. I guess I just wasn't fully processing what I was reading!

Glad to have helped clear the question up and hope that you do not hesitate to ask if any other questions come up in the future.

Note that if the complete item description with all relevant stats, costs, and values is actually printed in it's entirety on the chronicle sheet, the sheet itself is generally accepted as the Additional Resource needed to purchase that item.

This is pretty much only done for unique items not appearing in other books, though.

This is correct as per my understanding.

I would agree with this as well.
