What manner of game are you camping liquid rainbow in? You know that stuff is illegal in seven imaginary countries.
It's Diablo 3. The liquid is one of the ingredients needed to craft the Staff of Herding, which then allows you to access the secret level of Whimyshire and battle unicorns, teddy bears, and anthropomorphic sunflowers.

Lol

Diablo3 was the last game I thought that camp quest would be in, lol

Well, in D2 they had the secret cow level, which was a response to the (false) rumor of the same level in the original game. So in D3, rather than go Hell Bovine again, as well as in response to complaints about game colors being too bright (apparently), they created Whimsyshire, complete with Happy Clouds, rainbows, green grass, sparkling blue water, and enemies such as Super Happy Sparkle Cake (a unicorn boss monster).

Scarab Sages

There is, again apparently, also a level called Development Hell, where all monsters are named after members of the D3 development team.

In other good news/sad news.....

I discovered a Penny Dreadful comic based on the Showtime series/the store did not have the first two issues.

Scarab Sages

Been feeling a little "blah" since yesterday morning. Nevertheless, I drove the family over to the pumpkin patch yesterday. Since it was super crowded, and daddy wasn't feeling well, we didn't stay long. Just took some pictures, picked out our pumpkin, and left.

Scarab Sages

I have learned one good thing about.....

Spoiler:
....the polititroll threads infesting this messageboard:

The various ravings found within can be very inspiring for my Crazy Conspiracy Theories thread.

Scarab Sages

Beat Diablo 3 again last night, this time with my Barbarian. I look forward to running him through Whimsyshire.

Scarab Sages

At least part of one string of Halloween lights on my front yard tree has gone dark. Thankfully, I have a spare string of lights, found about a week ago while doing some house clean-up.

Scarab Sages

Tonight I think there shall be Hot Italian Sausage kabobs for dinner.

Scarab Sages

Then I just have to figure out what my kids will eat.

Scarab Sages

At least the boy. My baby girl might very well wish to dine on kabob. She's less picky than him....for now.

Scarab Sages

I have trained my children well. Whenever a commercial for Elena of Avalor comes on Disney TV (a show I find extremely annoying), they ask for the sound to be muted. They also ask to change the channel when the actual show comes on.

Scarab Sages

I would have done the same for Sofia the First (which is equally annoying), but baby girl managed to watched Sofia a few times before I could work my magic.

Scarab Sages

When we visited Disney back in March, I was sorely tempted to punch Sofia in the face. I really don't like that show.

Scarab Sages

I imagine there are people who feel the same about me. Thankfully, I very rarely give two s%#@s what other people think about me.

Scarab Sages

Although, I have come to the realization that I make a poor long-term friend. I tend to fall into a pattern of Out of Sight/Out of Mind, with regards to my acquaintances, basically failing to stay in touch if I don't have regular contact with them.

Sadly, even members of my own family are not immune to this failing. I very rarely talk to my three older brothers. Of course, that works both ways with them. For example, my older brother has been piss poor about returning phone calls (or even answering his phone) for years. Couple that with the fact he quit Facebook while I still lived in Philadelphia, and he was very surprised to find out I had moved to Houston.

It is possible that this behavior could harken back to some anti-social tendency on my part, possibly stemming from a general dislike/distrust of people.

I fully intend to try and rectify this behavior....someday.

Scarab Sages

Ah well, enough self-psychoanalysis. Time to go do other things.

You just keep on being the special undead snowflake you are AZ! ❄️

There is but one opinion that matters in regards to yourself: your own*

*Although people's general opinion of you can make a good yardstick for your actual level of douchiness.

Scarab Sages

Methinks it's time for some.....warm mead. Luckily, I only have to take about 3 steps for that to be reality.

Meh. I ain't special, or a snowflake. I'm just me. Although you are spot on in that the only opinion which truly matters to me is my own.

Scarab Sages

Missed out on watching Talking Dead last night because the wife was tired. She's been having sinus issues, and sleeping on the sofa because it helps her keep her head elevated.

So, instead, I retired to the front room with a glass of mead, did a bit of Paizo posting, then played Diablo 3.

Scarab Sages

The first glass of mead was from a bottle in the fridge. There was just enough left to give me a full glass. Once I was done with that, I didn't feel like walking back to the kitchen to get the other bottle from the fridge. Lucky for me, I keep a box with spare bottles of mead in the front room.

During a bit of channel surfing last night, I happened to check out TCM. Turns out, they were showing a marathon of Christopher Lee as Dracula movies (God bless Hammer Horror films). So I watched Dracula: Prince of Darkness and Dracula has Risen from the Grave. I also recorded Scars of Dracula and Dracula: A.D. 1972.

So much awesomeness!

Scarab Sages

In addition, as is typical these days while watching a movie, I scrolled through IMDB's Lee page and was reminded of a movie he did a part for back in 2013. It was an animated anthology of Poe stories called Extraordinary Tales. I have never seen it. I plan to rectify that via the wonders of Amazon Prime.

Scarab Sages

I'm sometimes amazed just how much inspiration I can find in the ravings of douchebags.

I wouldn't be. I read your soap opera posts.

Scarab Sages

Oh, I don't count the FAWTLY folk as douchebags. At least, not the older ones.....

Nor do I, but if you can work with THAT crazy bunch...

Correction via addition: I recorded three other movies, not two. The third was Taste the Blood of Dracula.

Just finished watching season 3 of Penny Dreadfuls. Wtf?

Almost as bad as Sopranos with the ending...

They think I'm crazy, but I know better. It is not I who am crazy! It is I who am MAD!

Didn't ya hear 'em? Didn't ya see the crowds? Oh, my beloved ice cram bar, how I love to lick you're creamy center, and your oh-so-nutty, chocolate covering. You're not like the others. You like the same things I do: wax paper, boiled football leather, dog's breath. We're not hitch hiking anymore, we're riding!

Scarab Sages

There shall be pumpkin carving today.

I may have mentioned this before, but after this current AP is over, I'm going to be cancelling my subscription. I just can't justify the money to myself anymore. I don't use any of the APs anymore. Hell, I haven't even bothered to read many of the more recent issues. I read through most of Mummy's Mask, hardly any of Iron Gods, and almost none of the two recent Cheliax APs.

Sometimes, the thought of cancelling makes me a bit sad. Other times, like this morning, not so much. Paizo has no one but themselves to blame for that.

Scarab Sages

This morning I found out that daycare's next Parent's Night Out is on 4 November. This presents me with a dilemma. I was going to go see Doctor Strange during the day, as a way to get out of the house for awhile and let the cleaning ladies do their thing without me around.

Now, however, I've got the opportunity to see it that night with the wife. Not sure if she would want to, though.

Scarab Sages

Of course, I could always see it twice in one day......

I did that after Kingmaker. They were all just collecting dust on the shelf.

I regret it now that I'm in PFS and using the APs in Campaign Mode. I miss my charter subscriber tag as well. But that's life.

Scarab Sages

At this point in my life, I just don't really see myself ever gaming again. I gave up a great group (probably the best I was ever a part of) when I moved from Philly, and don't really have much in the way of prospects to replace it. Most of the folks I know here already have their own groups, some of which have members I'm not overly fond of. If I'm going to game, I'd rather it be where I can call everyone a friend.

You just need to dig up some new friends.

It ain't the same, but I highly recommend online tabletops like Roll20. It has given me the dream group I've always wanted, thanks to distance no longer being a problem.

Scarab Sages

Yeah, I don't think online games are the thing for me. I get enough online stuff here and from The Book of the Face. When it comes to RPGs, I prefer either face-to-face table top, or just solo play on the computer.

Or I need to somehow convince my buddies up north to move out of the s!!% hole that is Philthadelphia.

Today I'll be volunteering at the boy's school. Oh joy.

Scarab Sages

Not that I don't look forward to spending a little extra time with my boy and seeing what his school day might be like. It's all the other little rat turds I don't look forward to dealing with. There is a reason I ever became a teacher.

Scarab Sages

Well, I enjoyed my time volunteering at the boy's school today. Even the part where one of his classmates asked my if I was his dad or his grandpa.

Scarab Sages

"Tis looking to be a lovely Saturday, full of potential for various shenanigans.

Happy Saturday!

Scarab Sages

Found out the other day was the grand opening for a nearby Total Wine and More. That was one of my go-to places for beer when I lived in Philly. They had a great selection of craft beers and imports.

They are closed today, so I'll go visit tomorrow - HAPPY HALLOWEEN to me!
