Another thought: While I am an avid lover of dead-tree literature, one thing I do not like is the collective weight of many books. Moving them in large groupings can be backbreaking.

Scarab Sages

Also, it's amazing how much s&++ can accumulate in one small office.

Scarab Sages

Ah well, time for coffee.

Scarab Sages

Mmmmm.....coffee.

Coffee indeed! <Salutes with mug>

I also have collected many, many,.... (too many) Dead trees in my home office.
I love the books!

I have 2 walls in my office lined with bookshelves. (4 & 1/2 shelves) It is NOT enough for all the books I keep buying. :/

Scarab Sages

All the bookshelves in my house are currently overflowing. On top of that, I currently have 3 boxes of engineering reference books taking up floor space.

I wish I had all the books I lost in my great divorcopocalpse in digital form. I love the look of dead tree, but I just don't have the room anymore.

The wife's birthday is this Sunday. Her gifts are already purchased, wrapped, and hidden where she won't find them. Not sure if we're going to do any kind of get together. Typically, we might have my brother and his family over for some grilling, maybe splash pad action for the kids. However, we hadn't made any plans yet (crappy life issues getting in the way), so I doubt they'll be free.

Scarab Sages

Meh. The wife is still recovering from her cold anyway.

Scarab Sages

And I'm not exactly a ray of sunshine these days.

I hope that your wife feels better and things improve for you.

Everything is topsy-turvey these days it seems. :P

Best wishes for everyone feeling better and everything improving soon!

Early Happy Birthday wishes for Missus Zombeh!

:)

best of luck with your Facebook posted issues, AZ

Meh. It is what it is. I had no control over what others did. I simply move forward.

Though I'm also certain there are some people who frequent this website who would revel at any misfortunes I might suffer.

Well, anyone who revels in others' misfortunes tempts karma.

I am headed to yet another job interview Monday. If I get it, that will be job#3. That's kind of crazy, but rent must be paid.

Agreed. I am a great believer in karma...especially road karma

I would never revel in your misery. Cackle with glee maybe, but never revel. Please remember that.

~grins and runs~

P.S. - I hope things improve, AZ.

[Jack Black from School of Rock] "But the legend of the Rent, was way past due!" "And the Legend of the Rent was way Hard Core!"[/Jack Black]

OI, NEVER tempt Karma. Never.

She is a Cold-Hearted b!#$%

Left over chicken tenders for breakfast? Sure!

Scarab Sages

Fell asleep watching TV again last night. That has been happening more frequently as I get older. It doesn't help that our sofa is very comfortable.

Ye gods! How I loathe so many of Disney's new cartoons.

Scarab Sages

The wife's birthday gift from me consisted of a necklace with the phrase "I Love You" written over and over, in something like 140+ languages. The writing is very tiny. It came with a magnifying glass so you can read it.

Scarab Sages

It's amazing how modern technology can produce something so tiny, yet detailed.

A decent day all around yesterday, even if it was a little busy. Gave the wife her birthday gifts, then did some breakfast followed by cleaning. Then grilled up some hamburgers and hotdogs in preparation for my brother and his family's arrival. Had lunch, then sat around for a bit, then had cake and ice cream. After that, we took the kids to the splash pad for about an hour and a half.

I finished off my night with some old-school sci-fi horror: 1951's The Thing from Another World. Awesome flick. Nowhere near as awesome as John Carpenter's version (which was much closer to the source material), but still bad ass in it's own way. James Arness as The Thing was kick ass.

Today, it's back to what has become my new routine.

It's times like this I'm still very glad I moved from Philly. The traffic around my old work office must be pure insanity this week.

Scarab Sages

On the other plus side, TNT has been replaying early seasons of Supernatural. I've been DVRing some of my more favorite ones.

Scarab Sages

On the downside, I forgot to take the red beans out the freezer to thaw last night. Instead, we'll be having pork chops.

Scarab Sages

However, this means we'll get to have red beans tomorrow.

Sweet heavens above! I just found out the movie theater near my house is participating in the limited two-night showing of Batman: The Killing Joke! Looks like I've got an appointment at 10 pm tonight!!!!

Have fun.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It was an awesome movie. I gave a kind of review over in the Paizo. movie section.

I'll be watching over my brother's kids for a while today. His wife is in a training class all week for her teaching position, while he has a meeting his client is insisting on.

Scarab Sages

After that, I think I'll finally make my way over to the clinic by HEB and see if they can tell my why I've been having this sharp pain in my throat whenever I swallow. It's only been this way since Saturday.

Positive waves!

And, I just realized how dirty my previous post can be made out to be.

~wicked grin~ Do you spit or swallow? ~runs for my life~

Top 11 Batman Animated Series Episodes - Nostalgia Critic I figured this might be a good place for it.

Get well soon, zombie!

Someone in Hollywood should make a movie where every role is played by Idris Elba.

Scarab Sages

Watched my brother's kids for a few hours yesterday. The oldest (10-year old boy) was punished from all electronics except the TV, and that was put on Disney Junior all day. Talk about cruel and unusual....

Scarab Sages

Arrived home last night to the wife watching Gilmore Girls on TV. Rather than have the annoying screeching that show called dialogue assault my ears, I plugged the head phones into the computer and played Diablo II for about an hour.

Scarab Sages

Incidentally, the hot mom from that show is really good at poker in real life.

Scarab Sages

Just shy of a month until the boy starts kindergarten. Time sure does fly....

Scarab Sages

Letting my facial hair grow out again. Sometimes, I like to visually remind folks how old I've become.

Do you play Diablo III, AZ?

Scarab Sages

No, I decided against playing the third game when I heard you had to have a Battlenet account and be signed in to play. No thanks.
