They hire us for design work. But they still control other areas of the project, including final inspections of fabricated equipment and structures. And their inspectors have screwed up several times now. The latest problem was started by a design error on our part, but was compounded by the client insisting a vendor perform some fabrication outside the normal work path, making a resolution more difficult. My main beef is while we will readily admit our error and make ammends, they will never even admit they did wrong.

Started a special batch of mead going yesterday. It's for my Fraternity Chapter's 30th anniversary, next April. Used some mixed berry honey. Mmmmm.....

Scarab Sages

So far, it's a beautiful Saturday morning. Wife is about to take the boy to his swimming lesson. That leaves baby girl and me-self to do.......something.

Scarab Sages

I do have another batch of mead that needs to be transferred.......

Greetings from Sharktopia, zombeh!

Scarab Sages

DO you need a bigger boat?

You ALWAYS need a bigger boat....

And a GoPro

Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods. This shark, swallow you whole. Little shakin', little tenderizin', an' down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. But you've gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter. I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's just too many captains on this island. $10,000 for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing.

Well, this is not a boat accident! And it wasn't any propeller; and it wasn't any coral reef; and it wasn't Jack the Ripper! It was a shark.

Mrgh! Monday. Baby girl was up at 0430. Back at work to deal with....contentious issues. And yesterday my throat started bothering me, so I'm probably coming down with a cold.

Scarab Sages

F$$+ing trolls.

South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut.

Such an awesome movie!!

Scarab Sages

Another day, another....day.

Scarab Sages

Must have been in desperate need of a good night's sleep. Was in bed by 2230, and didn't even wake up when the wife's alarm went off.

Scarab Sages

I find myself not really wanting to be in the office today, but I suppose the alternative is way more crappy.

Scarab Sages

Ordered some minis from Paizo. It took over a week for the order to move from Pending to Complete. Then they shipped it off in two boxes. I think that's confused the USPS (admittedly, not difficult to do). The last two entries in the tracking status read:

"Package Out for Post Office Delivery" (August 1st)

"Shipment info received by Post Office" (August 2nd)

A screw up was not unexpected by the USPS, but I've become increasingly disillusioned by the Paizo Customer Service. There have been several instances recently of things being screwed up, or simply way slower to get done than it used to be. I guess part of that is their growing pains.

Scarab Sages

Huzzah! The post office finally got its head out of its collective ass and delivered my boxes!

Scarab Sages

And, finally!! Deadpool trailer was f&@#ing awesome!!! I'm looking forward to this one!!!

Scarab Sages

So, s#~! storm that really wasn't yesterday. Some people in Amelia, Louisiana REALLY need something more to do with their time.

Scarab Sages

Huzzah for Purchase Orders!

Scarab Sages

My name is zombie!
I like to do drawrings!

Scarab Sages

I showed my wife the Deadpool trailer last night. It might have momentarily overloaded her brain with its pure awesomeness.

A nurse walks into a bank totally exhausted after an 18-hour shift. She grabs a deposit slip, pulls a rectal thermometer out of her purse, and tries to write with it. When she realizes her mistake, she looks at the flabbergasted teller and, without missing a beat, says, "Well, that's great.....some a!$#$##'s got my pen."

It might not come across as well with the obscenity censoring.

Something just reminded me of one of my favorite aliases. One that is....sadly....at the point where most people on the boards wouldn't get the joke.

Loser.

it is so freakin hot

hottest and triest summer in weather recorded time in Germany

highest tempreturer ever, a ten year old record was already brocken trice !

and I am so not a summer person

because it is to hot in the second floor gaming room, we made our gaming ssession yesterday down in the cellar in the laundry room

1.5 meter/yard sandstone wall down there , keeps it nicely cool ( the cellar is only one third underground)

the boy can reach the door handles now, damn

almost 10 hours footage from Wacken Open Air recorded from TV, I have no idea when I will watch all of it

but i have already watched Sabaton and In Flames

I think our high temperatures have been somewhere in the hundreds the last week or so. I'm loving it.

This is always fun. It's why I place extra locking mechanisms on certain doors in my house.

Scarab Sages

Thanks to Daycare's Parent's Night Out last night, the wife and I had a date. Dinner at Texas Roadhouse (great steak restaurant), then a movie. Unfortunately, I let the wife pick the movie. She picked some lame piece of crap called Ricki and The Flash, written by that extraordinarily overrated hack, Diablo Cody. To call the film a monstrosity would be to insult all things monstrous. Needless to say, that's an hour and forty minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Scarab Sages

The only possible, slightly redeeming quality of the movie was Rick Springfield. That dude is still ten kinds of awesome!

Scarab Sages

Texas Roadhouse was also ten kinds of awesome. They make their chili using meat trimmed from all the different kinds of steak they serve. F~##ing delicious!!!

Scarab Sages

And yesterday we also had lunch at the nearby Wacky Mongolian, which was finally reopened. Delicious!!!

Scarab Sages

A decent night. After dinner, and kids in bed, and broke out my Bluray copy of Heavy Metal to help drive the memories of that movie from Friday date night out of my skull.

Scarab Sages

Now I must go on a brief "doodoo" hunt.

Scarab Sages

Well, that didn't take long. And I switched the music. While I like Tom Petty, I prefer a little AC/DC this morning.

Scarab Sages

Methinks I shall inquire with the wife as to her thoughts on organizing the kids playroom (which is really just the large open area upstairs). It's starting to look too much like a hurricane hit.

loved her first movie. Everything else has been a disappointment.

I sense something. A presence I've not felt since........

Scarab Sages

Well s~+@ in a bag and punch it. He's back.

Scarab Sages

"I understand how you feel. You see, it's all very clear to me now. The whole thing."

Ugh.
