And I'm gonna smoke some pork finger ribs today. They've been marinating since just after dinner time yesterday. Smokey mesquite marinade.
Mmmm.....pork ribs are cooking away. Marinated them overnight in some Jack Daniels Smokey Mesquite marinade sauce. It comes in its own ziplock bag, which makes things far less messy.
My pork ribs were delicious.
After the kids were in bed, I re-watched the newest episode of Penny Dreadful. I had fallen asleep watching it the first time around. I really enjoy that show.
Rain last night was vicious. There were numerous areas of flooding this morning, but nothing to interfere in my travel to work.

Blrble. Blrble. More rain. Good news is, it's supposed to slack off by 9-ish (according to the weather app). Bad news is, it wasn't bad enough to prevent me from going to work, just bad enough to make me late.
On another note, I hate having a cold. It makes me.....cranky.
You wouldn't like me when I'm......cranky.
Then again, I suspect there are some people who wouldn't like me even if I were to give them a million dollars.
Probably because I'm an a@$#$~&.
A happy and joyous a+$$!!&.
But I admit it. Would that some could do the same.
Enough of that negative nancy crap.
Now, I shall go dance for someone.
And dance I did. It was.......glorious!
And the people.....they cheered.
I had forgotten I was logged in. Such is the nature of a "fire" popping up at work. In this case, certified vendor drawings of pressure relief valves that are different dimensions from what is in our model and our isometric drawings. Not a deal breaker, so to speak. We'll fix it and move on. The client will be pissed, however. They just seem to be finding it difficult to accept that shit like this happens.
Pulled pork in the oven. God I love that smell
Trailblazer needs two new rear tires. Come to find out, the size currently on their is being discontinued. So I decided to go ahead and replace all four with the new size. This way, I'm hoping they last until I'm ready to get a new vehicle in about three years or so.
As is, this is the longest I've owned a particular vehicle. Nine years, this fall.
Another busy weekend. I've got so much stuff I'd like to get done, I never no where to start anymore. So I end up just getting the shit done that needs doing.
Ordered the new Pathfinder Tales book Lord of Runes. First one I've ordered in awhile. Mostly because I don't think much of most of the other writers they get.
Channel surfing last night, I found Hellboy on the Syfy channel. Started to watch it, but quickly grew tired of the commercials. So I popped in the bluray instead. Awesome flick.
Mostly sunny day, with a bit of rain just a little while ago. Got a good bit done today: couple loads of laundry, visit to Walmart, visit to the cleaners, a few household chores, grocery shopping. Now I'm waiting around until dinner, then it'll be time for the boy's bath, then bedtime for both kids. After that, maybe some relaxation.
Wife's watching that crap-ass Outlander show. F+%$ing Harlequin Romance, shit ass program. So here I am surfing the internet. Trying to keep myself busy until her shit show is over.
I need someplace quiet to read. Maybe a comfy new chair. Maybe a new papasan chair.
I used to love my papasan chairs.
Sadly, it is not an evil plan. Just a plan.
Methinks I shall now go and peruse the Container Store website.
I am now a man in blue. It's interesting the perception change wrought when you don a pseudo-law enforcement uniform. People are predisposed to treat you with respect. Well, most people.

Jinkies! It's the cops!!! Beat feet!!!
I may try heading over to the container store later today. Since I ordered a case of the new mini set, I realized I'm pretty much running out of room in my mini storage boxes. And the ones I had been buying are no longer available at Target.
I could order some off Amazon, and may try that first. Every time I check, though, they give a couple of different entries with different sizes that don't exactly match what I've got to my satisfaction. These containers are stackable, and I want to make sure I get the appropriate size to stack with what I've already got.
What those companies really need to do, is provide a schematic showing exactly which points their measurements are taken from. That's just responsible engineering.
And I'll probably go to Lowe's at some point and buy stuff.

I hope the security gig is a good change for you!

Which is ironic considering my views on police and their militarization and the recent spate of incidents they have been involved with.

My mom works extensively with her hospital's security, because she's a psych nurse. Does your hospital have a psych unit?
Not as such, but the ER has a dedicated area for incoming psych patients. From what I understand most of the bad issues I will be dealing with are the intoxicated that flood the ER during the summer season. That and the year round drug problem Cape Cod has.
Busy morning. Many fires to be put out. I swear I'm gonna buy the lead client a box of tampons. Dude lives like it's that time of the month.
More fun in the summer sun.
Gah so tired of being tired
Yesterday was another busy day. And the wifi at work was acting up, so phone was really slow. Hence, not much posting.
There was also a bit of headache. And the strong desire to cave someone's face in with a frozen halibut.
