And baby girl is turning out to be a really good eater so far.

Scarab Sages

I think the only thing she hasn't really liked is green peas.

Can't say I blame her.

Scarab Sages

Green peas are the work of the Devil.

They can be pretty decent smothered in cheese and spices. Or hidden away in a meaty, cheesy casserole.

Scarab Sages

BLASPHEMER!!!

They're pretty much like broccoli. Disgusting by itself, mostly okay if you put enough tasty stuff on them.

I used to say the same thing about brussel sprouts, just cook them in bacon grease and all will be well in the world again.

I like green peas, agents of Satan or no. Radishes and green peas are the only veg I'll go out of my way to eat. However, I will not eat cucumber or raw tomato under any circumstances.

My baby girl said "Da da". Huzzah!

Scarab Sages

Met the husband half of my new neighbors. No f~!~ing clue what his name is. I'm not even sure he said it.

My protocol when meeting a new neighbor is to offer them beer.

I'm carful about who I offer beer to these days. There are many people who don't drink.

That being said, of course I told him that any time my garage door is open he's welcome to stop by and partake of the contents of the beer fridge.

Scarab Sages

It rained something fierce this morning on the drive to work.

Scarab Sages

But now I'm (somewhat) safely ensconced in my office at work, with a hot cup of coffee.

Scarab Sages

I finished reading through the Numeria book last night and started on the Osirion book. Cool s&#~.

And now I've suddenly come up with a possible idea for an Osirion Wayfinder Gazeteer. Must go write it down.

Ancient chinese proverb "A neighbor who does not drink is for the most part a quiet neighbor"

I too have that policy with the caveat that I am present. I hate working all day in the yard and then head over to the fridge all excited about having my 22 oz bottle of 90 minute IPA only to find it gone...Damn you evil neighbor.

*blink*

Ah, another day of hard labor. Starting to think hard about shedding the subscriptions. I was stoked for Iron Gods, but idk if I can be bothered anymore.

Silver Crusade

To Whom it may concern,

Thank you for the instructional sticker you put on the bathroom mirror here at work. I now have Knowledge:Hand washing as a class skill.

Whew! I wouldn't have made it if it wasn't for them pictures they included.

Scarab Sages

Watched the 1932 version of The Mummy last night. Such an awesome flick, and it had been years since I'd seen it.

Scarab Sages

But that's what's awesome about owning the Universal Classic Monsters bluray set. So much awesomeness.

Scarab Sages

Of course, then I tried to watch the making of type special included on the disc and promptly fell asleep on the sofa.

Scarab Sages

Got a letter from the HOA of my subdivision. Apparently I was in violation of a policy stating garbage cans have to be stored out of sight, except on trash days.

I sent them a letter back stating the situation had been remedied, but that I expected them to promptly send me a copy of the rules, just so I know what to avoid breaking in the future.

We were supposed of get a copy of said rules when we closed, but that's nowhere to be found. Neither the wife nor I remember ever seeing them. And the letter makes it sound like new homeowners not getting them has been an issue.

Scarab Sages

Still, I'm proud to have my first letter. I feel that, with a HOA, if you never get at least one notice from them, you're doing it wrong.

I also believe there's a special hell for the a~@~#+@ that came up with the idea for HOAs. A very special hell.

Scarab Sages

At the same time, there are some good things about them. It's a good way to organize big neighborhood events, like garage sales. And they work to maintain the public areas. And to make sure someone's house doesn't become an eyesore and f$*$ up property values.

Like any other position of authority, however, you hear horror stories about the abuse to property owners for no other reason that seeming power hungry busybodies.

I think I like my version better.

Scarab Sages

I'm not sure what I'm going to do today. Grocery shopping, at the least. Other than that, it's a mystery.

Scarab Sages

Happy Sunday! Looks like it's gonna be another mix of sun and clouds/rain.

Scarab Sages

I'm thinking it might be a good day to head over to Lowe's and do some real life research into a new grill. I've already done a bit of research on a consumer search website, and I know Lowe's carries the one the website rated as best. So I want to see it in person and get a good handle on it's size, etc.

Scarab Sages

Also, sad zombie is a bit sad when the only interaction he gets with an old friend is when the old friend wants to argue. Very sad.
