So....a good morning so far, for a Monday. My finger seems to be doing much better. I'm going to try and arrange for a check up on it either Wednesday or Thursday. My boy's got a bit of a cough, but he was otherwise in a good mood when I dropped he and his sister off at daycare. My commute to the office was pretty smooth.
My supervisor is back in the office after being out most of last week. Not sure if I mentioned it, but his daughter in Philly had a massive stroke and nearly died. At one point her chances of survival were down to around 1-2%. But she's made it a week, and while still in critical condition, the fact that she's made it that long is a very good thing. And she's in a really good hospital.

My younger brother and I are going into New Orleans this weekend - in part to see our brother from North Carolina, who's coming to visit my mom and dad. We are, of course, also going to see our father - he's not doing well.
We'll take care of making certain arrangements while we're there...just as a "let's get ahead of this so we're not scrambling at the last minute" type of situation. My mother already had a priest come by to see my dad, just in case.
It sucks, but in all reality, my father has been gone good while now. His body just hasn't caught up to that fact.

damn. I'm sorry man. My dad turns 81 tomorrow and he said he was glad that he had his facilities and could work everyday.

Went to a CVS Minute Clinic yesterday to get my stitches out. The finger is healing nicely, but I'll have to be gentle with it a bit longer.
Of course, in hindsight the Minute Clinic might have been a mistake. Today I'm not feeling so hot. I'm hoping I didn't pick up anything in that little pit stop of pestilence.

that is due to allergies in late fall and dry sinuses in winter.

But I understand your defense of that most s%**ty of seasons - it is the dominant one in your city. If I lived in New York, I would also be seeking as much joy in as many other things as possible.......
nonsense. We have all four seasons here each in their time. Winter is my favorite yes, and it is magical in NYC yes, but it is but one of the four. As opposed to places with monoweather patterns like Texas.

Yeah speaking as someone who has lived in a mostly mono-weather state - Arizona has "summer" (hot and dry), "monsoon" (hot and humid), or "winter-ish" (cooler and occasionally rainy but otherwise dry) - Texas has fairly varied and distinct weather patterns for the different months. They're all warmer than further north, but it's pretty clear when spring becomes summer, summer becomes autumn, autumn becomes winter, winter becomes spring. It's about as clear as it is here in Tennessee/Georgia.

Warm is relative in this context. Yeah, if you were to visit there, or move there, you'd probably consider it warm (at least for the first few yeras, until your body acclimated). But compared to the rest of the year it's noticeably colder and with different weather patterns.

If by warm you mean highs in the 60s, yeah. There were times I had to defrost my windows before driving to work.

Heh. Texas has different seasons. You want mono weather? That's California. Idiots put on parkas if the temps hit 55 degrees *smdh*
Which is why I believe CA poisoned my mom. She wore long sleeves this year until the weather hit 105+.
Santa Barbara was pretty bad about only having one season. Weather never seemed to change much.

I've had to do that a few days already.
