Crossbows are generally bad. Their useful to casters at low level when they don't have enough spells to last all day, and to low level people with strength penalties. They cost two extra feats to even kinda use and you can't use multishot at all, so they're still behind even with extra feat investment. Furthmore no str bonus to damage means you'll still always fall even further behind in damage.
So do the Cad/Rogue if that's what you're after. Though multiclassing is pretty meh in PF.

If you're looking at a ranged Fighter/Rogue then maybe considering straight-up Ranger is a better option. This way you get a bunch of skillpoints, good combat ability and fringe extras. Ranged Rogues are a bit of an endangered species because it's hard to get sneak attacks on ranged attacks. Also, as Kenji says, Crossbows are pretty much inferior to Bows due to the high feat requirements and inability to add strength bonuses to damage.
I couldn't really comment on the Cad Fighter as I'm not fully familiar with them. There is a recent tactics article by TarkXT about getting the most out of Dirty Trick and other combat maneuvers. Might be worth a read.

Dirty Tricks don't get good until 11th which is the end of your career in PFS, and the Crossbowman/Rogue build only comes online at level 8 and isn't good until higher levels.
Both of these builds are really meant for mid to high level play not low to mid level play.
I really like both builds, they are niche martials that can do what they set out to do, but not for PFS.
Maybe something like Lore Warden/Maneuver Master would work better for the level range you are working with.

The crossbowman/rogue can work at 11, but you only have 2d10+2d6+static damage to work with, which isn't all that satisfying at this point, and it's the end of your PFS career.
You would have two rogue talents, and it can be useful to take slow reaction on one of them to negate AoOs.
For PFS, if you want to play a sneaky crossbow users, Inquisitor is the way to go.
