Alpha Access

Pathfinder Online

Hell all!

I'm trying to figure out at what point you get Alpha access when you pledge the $100 on the site. Sorry if this has been answered, I searched and couldn't find it. I've read the page but I am unsure where they are in the Alpha access.

Thanks!

$100 pledge doesn't give you access to Alpha. It gives you access to Early Enrollment. Depending on when you pledged, either Month 1 or Month 2.

Early Enrollment is scheduled for 3rd Quarter of this year. At the moment, I would say late August or sometime in September for EE to start.

Yeah, it's $1000 for the Alpha.

Though they have said that people who backed for EE ($100) may be let into the alpha towards the end, there is no concrete info on that at this time.

Some EE friends of the < 200 alpha subscribers will be let in just before EE. Going to PaizoCon has had a much higher chance of try out alpha. Ask K**^{^}%}% or D%*]{}^<}# who were there. There were some alpha supporters also.

Not being a relative or holder of lien, (and not having adequate H/W) I do not expect to be invited.

Consider going to PaxCon and publish how great this alpha is (have you ever done any real software testing?). There may be a be a.... there.m

...O_o

Is Paizo plotting mine and Decius's deaths? Are we going to be stricken from the records?

EDIT: I'm assuming the swearing refers to us because it starts with our letters and I remember Lam stopping by and seeing us this morning.

As we move closer and closer to Early Enrollment we will expand the Alpha invite list by including randomly selected members of the Month 1 Early Enrollment cadre from the Kickstarter backers. As we continue to increase the load testing, we'll allow those people to send invites to their friends as well.

Finally, in the last weeks before we begin Early Enrollment we will open the Alpha to every Early Enrollee and conduct some all-up stress tests. Ideally we would like to have a few days of operating the server under full load before we begin Early Enrollment so that the first day of Early Enrollment is no more stressful than the last day of Alpha.

3rd quarter 2014, hopefully.

Late 3rd quarter.

It is me who does not publish names. I will not says that either of the referenced names are those you suggested. In fact I will not say that one matches or zero matches. It maybe your ego to say I referenced you.

I did very much enjoy you impression of the demo, even if you may not be one of those I met.
I have enjoyed discussions with all PfO community with whom I talked, even if you were or were not one of them.

Yeah, looking at it, the Lam-censors don't change when you refresh. Shoulda tipped me off. That's something I've always f+%~ing liked about this censor. It's kinda spooky. I think the asterisks are following me around the room.

Goblin Squad Member

I did not see censors. Maybe missing tassels, that is if it was you whom I saw.

I used to have many, many tassels. Over the years, they've dwindled in number, stolen by greedy men and grasping gnomes. And now there are but three.

From: KNEEL BEFORE ZOG!!!!

Week 1 - 2 = Internal, friends and family

Week 3 - Alpha backers

First Load increase - Each Alpha backer gets 1 invite to give away

Further increases - give more invites to alpha backers (not clear on if invited people get invites to give away too)

Close to Early Enrollment - Random selection of Month 1 EE (Kickstarter backers), they get some friend invites (presumably to give to other month 1 EE backers)

Right before EE - All EE backers (Not clear on if just KS, or all new EE backers as well, IMO it seems cruel to let the month 2 people in for a week, then kick them out for a month.)

My guess is that EE backers will start to be let in a week or two after the Alpha moves from Zog to the EE hardware.

I wonder if Zog is going to hang around to do beta testing of new functionality before it goes to the EE hardware?

That would be an excellent move - a "dev environment" much like what any reputable IS/IT department of an organization would have.

And, let the Alpha backers continue to test the new features/fixes on Dev (Zog), so that they have a larger player base to test with.

I would be more selective with your long-term alpha testers.

There was official speculation at the PFO. PaizoCon seminar that Zog (all hail Zog!) might remain as a testing fork, running in parallel with live as a testing branch.

Yes, actually! I was at the panel, and they said Zog would likely linger for the Alpha purchasers for a long time, even after OE.

Good to hear, good to hear.

Proposed: After any mention by name of Zog (all hail Zog), the chorus must be chanted.
