Shuriken question

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Is there a way to get around the ammunition quality? Specifically the fact that shurikens are deystroyed on a hit and lost if they miss? I was cosidering adamintine to get around the deystroyed effect but the lost effect? I was thinking of enchanting them down the way and was wondering if this is just a waste of resources. Thanks.

Maybe the returing quality. But I think just treating them as thrown weapons would be fine not sure why the needed to treat them as ammo I know realistically shurikens aren't exactly going to last forever but breaking on hit seems like overkill swords axes and poll arms don't last forever in the real world either.

No way around it that I know of, not by the rules. You may have to ask for GM Fiat.

While not technically RAW, I would look at using the durable quality that can be purchased for arrows. It would make each shuriken cost 4gp but they would not be destroyed when used. They do lose magical enchantments after each use though. I recommend buying a pearl of power lvl 3 for your mage buddy and asking him to cast greater magic weapon for you each day. While he is at it, sit down with your mage buddy and ask him to cast arcane mark on all 50 of your new durable shuriken so you can find them easily after combat with detect magic.

Drawing them is a free action because they are ammo.

If you want thrown weapons why not just refluff some throwing dagger?

Scarab Sages

Being ammo means you don't need quick draw to use them in a flurry. It trades terrible damage and being a gold sink for a feat.
