As part of our new initiative to reach different groups within the River Kingdoms we at Canis Castrum (RBL) are announcing the opening of our Bazaar!

While we are working to build settlement level trade agreements and alliances, we would also like to open our doors to the crafters out there, whether dedicated individuals, companies, or settlements we invite you to plan on bringing your goods and services to our centrally located bazaar with no strings attached!

This offer does not require any sort of membership with our settlement (but we're happy to have you if you're looking for a home), require any costs or upkeep on your behalf besides showing up to sell your goods, and if you're accepted as a regular sanctioned member comes with an incentives package.

Organized groups and dedicated individuals can contact me to discuss signing up and the details of our incentives. For everyone else plan on swinging by Canis Castrum for all your market needs!

Sooooo.... Thannon. Than. Can me calls you Than? Good.

So Than.

Dats a real nice marketplace you got dere.

Real nice.

Lotsa happy merchants. Lotsa happy shoppers. Kids playin. Very liddul in da way of wanton violences an destruction.

Real nice.

None of dese happy shoppers rilly seem prepayrd for a massive horde of zombies to come shamblin thru.

Guurzak tink dat would be a real shame if some un-for-seeabul freak tragedy like a giant undead shambling horde was ta tayk place completely by aksident.

Me always sad when me hears about horribul misfortunes like dat, to a rilly nice place like dis wun rite heer.

Espeshully wen dese tings is compleetly avoydabul wif just a tiny bit of reezunabul prudence an forethott.

Has you considurd investing in protectiv servisses, dat wood mayk shur dis kind of compleetly randum undead horde doesn't happen ta wander rite thru da middul of dis rilly very nice market?

Wood yous like to tayk a moment to consider dat rite now?

Arrangements will of course be made with reputable security experts, we wouldn't want any accidents to happen.

Bazaars would be a nice addition to the game. I hope the Settlement mechanics will more easily support your initiative. I'm sure my DT crafter will be more then happy to sell his wares in your settlement as soon as I learn more about the crafting system and if I am going to specialize or not.

I would also like to introduce our new Master of Trade, Thannon Forsworn. Crafters and merchants, please send your applications to him for review. :)

Yes, undead do have a bad habit of being redead. (That's a good habit really.) Sounds like a good idea. There will likely be several large market places all around the map, all with security to keep those pesky thieves, robbers and bandits away. Thumbs up Thannon!

Sounds like a great support structure or POI accessible for those settlements that focus on crafting as opposed to combat. Gonna have to put that up on ideascale!

There is an Auction House idea up there, as well as individual vendors and "flea market" type shop areas within a settlement. Upvoted those myself.

I believe they have mentioned markets as a facility type that will be available at some point. But even if they are not available right away we still plan to offer our settlement as a hub for all the crafters and traders out there.

I don't mind an auction, but I don't want a world auction. They should be tied to whatever settlement they originate from and transport should be involved if it is bulk items.

No, local markets are the way to go.

I would like to see some kind of discont every now and then. For example: This weekend pay 2 get 3 on every wood related item.

A worldwide Auction House is the ruin of a game economy. Not even EVE has it and in a fantasy environment it would destroy any sense of immersion.

I believe they've already indicated that there will be localized markets, not global, which is one of the driving forces behind promoting ourselves and working with vendors to make us a market hub.

This is where Nihimon usually comes in with a nice quote for us.

This is pretty old, but I don't recall seeing anything that would indicate it's no longer valid.

Here is where I think we are in terms of a design:

Each Settlement will have a central market. In order to place a buy or sell order on that market you will have to physically visit that market. Information about the buy & sell orders on the market will be visible to you depending on the state of your character's abilities. Everyone will be able to go to a Settlement and see it's market orders, but some characters may be able to get that information at a distance.

When you place a sell order you'll put the inventory into escrow at the Settlement where you're placing the order. When you place a buy order you'll place the price into escrow and when the order matches, your inventory will be delivered to the Settlement where the sell order was posted. You'll have to transport the material from there to wherever else you need it if you wish to move it elsewhere.

Ah there it is, thank you very much Nih.

Happy Land Rush Monday, shoppers! Today we'd like to offer special deals on these crowdforged ideas for the Player Economy.

Road Building: Caravans have got to go somewhere. Mbando suggests players should be able to build custom roads from their settlements with commoners, experts, and aristocrats.

Crafter's Mark: Do you want other players to know you make the best equipment and items? Padrone wants crafters to spread brand awareness of their items with personalized maker's marks.

dyeing clothing: We all want individualized clothing to separate ourselves from the masses. foxglove suggests tailors should be able to change colors of existing items.

Crafters membership in our settlement is not required to take advantage of our Bazaar Offer. We invite you to vote for Canis Castrum, so you can enjoy these deals and many more.

We've gotten some questions about our Bazaar. Please share your questions about our market with us in this thread or PM Thannon Forsworn.

The Bazaar Initiative membership and Canis Castrum's trade agreements have been growing! If you're interested in partnering with a settlement to bring your goods to all the fine citizens of the River Kingdoms contact myself for further information and offer details!
