The next bunch of scenarios have been announced: There's a new trilogy (tier 1-5), and a high tier scenario. Looks good!

I'm back and I am tired...
My wife is twice-wise person: she decided to rent place for overnight sleep (instead of that crazy drive-game-drive trick I planned) and when middle of the way our car started sound badly, she said: "Drive there and go play your games. Leave it to me, I'll fix that if it becomes problem". It was problem in my opinion: roaring noise when speed reached 70 kmh (30 mph) is definitely, not OK. Actually, if not her words, I'd probably turn back at mid-point and return home, but this was support I needed, so I actually arrived almost on time. Strange, but after some driving in city, keeping speed and rpm sane, it become OK. I planned 4h drive back, but was able to do it in 3.5h. Have had no problems, even at 100 kmh (65 mph).
Good luck in your travel, Shifty. Actually, 27h flight + 3h drive screams "curse" more than "travel"... Hopefully, you can enjoy your time in UK.

So is it a Level 1 scenario like you were thinking (a Confirmation-like game where I need a new 1st level character?) Don't want to create another character by hand if I don't have to =)
DM Kludde |
I've got no details, other than that it is a tier 1-2 scenario that sounds a lot like the Confirmation from last season. That scenario didn't necessarily need a new character, any level 1 or 2 would do.
Shifty |
I'll probably roll frost back out for the t 1-2 and I have a level 3 that would work in the t 1-5 if it's a trilogy... Svetlana is already 5 so that wouldn't work.
Yes it was a long time in transit but hey it finished... High point was casually driving past Stonehenge on the way to the first few days accommodation, now I'm firmly in an English town surrounded by farmland that is totally the Shire. Off to get dome freshly hunted pheasant to make a nice pie. Will go great with a scrumpy jack cider.

I don't like to be rules lawyer, but according to Glossary ability damage via poison do not reduce your effective stat, it just administer a -1 penalty per 2 points of damage. So max hp for Marra and Adrianna should not be affected.
Shifty |
"Constitution: Damage to your Constitution score causes you to take penalties on your Fortitude saving throws. In addition, multiply your total Hit Dice by this penalty and subtract that amount from your current and total hit points. Lost hit points are restored when the damage to your Constitution is healed"
Current AND total, so that looks like they do drop...?
DM Kludde |
I've got to admit my knowledge of the poison rules are a bit shaky, but it look like 6 points of con damage will cause a decrease of max hp by 6 points for a level 2 character (until con is healed)
Regarding getting smacked down in the encounters: remember that we're playing both current scenario using the out-of-tier rules, which means I'm serving up high-level encounters. That snake was pretty hard (one shooting a pc, then dealing con damage for 6 rounds requiring a double dc 17 save... that's pretty rough), any level 2 pc would have had trouble there.
Marra follower of Dawnflower |
Yes, Con damage does cause a reduction in maximum hit points and penalties to Con related skills and saves. -1 penalty and -1 hp per level per 2 points damage total. The Con stat is unchanged unlike it use to in previous version of DnD. Also, damage to your ability scores is healed at the rate of 1 per day to each ability score that has been damaged. With a successful heal long term care check DC15 you can regain 2 ability score checks per 8 hour or 4 points for a complete day.
I agree the module is tougher than what we have been uses to, but then some of the previous ones have been relatively easy. Dice rolls also make a big difference.

Thanks for letting me know. Did you enjoy the midnight run (just noticed someone with your name popping up on the starting list)?
DM Kludde |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
The Christmas Midnight run, it involves running 5k through the city centre of my neck of the woods. If you had been part of it, you'd probably have noticed ;-). Must have been a different person with the same name appearing of the list.

Zipping over to Norther Ireland in the morning, but staying in an old manor house older than time with wonderful farmland all around - odds of internet is not solid...
Same same, Boxing Day I will be heading to a lodge in the wilds of Scotland, and whilst I have a few days making my way up there through York and Edinburgh, once I get there I have it firmly that there will be no internet until I get back 3rd Jan
DM Kludde |
There's a kid in South Africa with the same name as me - that gets me the strangest spam messages. The race was in the Lausanne; I remember having caught somewhere that you were from that area somewhere (or at least used to be - are you in the UK these days?)

I'll be on a vacation from Dec 18 to Dec 27, with very little to no posting capability. Enjoy the holidays, all!

Merry christmas!
Back, but still have a long flight ahead of me. Expect posts to trickle in slowly...

Happy new year to all of you!
We've almost finished the blood cove adventure: can I have pas# and day jobs for everyone?
I'll set up the new 3-7 game later, so we can start it when this one is finished..

We're also almost wrapping up the Segang expedition, so here as well: day jobs, factions and numbers, please!
The last two scenarios had quite challenging fights - the out-of-tier combats really stretch the limits. You had no problem with it, but things could've gone pretty badly (particularly the jungle fight) with a couple of unlucky die rolls...

No objection from Castien, but Ouroboreia was the source for most of them (thanks again!). Also, if it helps, I believe you can take 10 on those spellcraft rolls (at least the level 1 spells will get you successes by taking 10).

Here's a link to the latest set of chronicles.
As ever, check them for errors, please.
Shall I put all YSK chronicles in one place for now, or do you prefer the folder-by-folder approach? The first may be easier if you want to retrieve older chronicles as some point.
Also - for 6-09:
Boon Rolls:
DMK: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Cacumattus: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Ceobryrn: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Elindriel: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Jacques: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Ouroboreia: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Rhanloi: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Boon of players choice on a natural roll of 1 or 20
**Re-Rolls not allowed on boons**
Lady luck is at least consistent ;-)
Glenn, can you pm me your email address, and tell me which one you choose of the boons in the spoiler?
Adopted Weapon Training: You have spent an extended period of time training in a culture other than your own, and as a result, you have learned that population’s weapon styles to the exclusion of all others. You gain the weapon familiarity racial trait of one of the following races: dwarf, elf, gnome, halfling, or half-orc. This specialization comes at a price, and you suffer a –1 penalty on attack rolls made with manufactured weapons other than those granted by any weapon familiarity racial traits you possess. You ignore this penalty when using a weapon that benefits from any Weapon Focus feat or weapon training class feature you may have.
Ancestral Ally: Golarion’s many cultures have traditions of animal husbandry and cooperation that date back millennia, and you have embraced one of your people’s favored companion creatures. If you have the divine bond or mount class feature, instead of choosing an animal companion from the list provided in the class description, you may instead call a mount from the list below so long as you are a member of the corresponding race. If the animal companion statistics for your race’s mount are found in a source beyond the Core Assumption, the source is listed below. You must bring a copy of the listed book to all games in which you use the selected animal companion as though access to the animal companion came from the Additional Resources list.
If an asterisk follows an animal companion option listed below, the animal already appears on the list provided by your class description, and you are at least 4th-level, you may spend 5 Prestige Points to strengthen your bond with that type of animal. This increases your effective druid level as one higher when determining the animal companion’s bonus HD, natural armor bonus, Strength and Dexterity bonuses, bonus tricks, and special abilities. This boon cannot increase your effective druid level more than one level above your actual character level.
Dwarf: badger*, boar
Elf: bird*, elk (Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 3)
Gnome: badger*, giant weasel (Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 4)
Halfling: dog*, ram (Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 2)
Half-Elf: A half-elf may choose from the elf and human lists.
Half-Orc: camel*, bear; a half-orc may also choose from the human list.
Human: bird*, horse*
Custom Order: You have a special contract with an ammunition crafter, and you are able to order small batches of specialty ammunition as a result. Choose either a +1 or +2 ranged weapon enchantment. You may purchase +1 [enchantment] pieces of ammunition in sets of 10 instead of sets of 50. Once you choose the weapon enchantment, you may only change the enchantment type by spending 4 Prestige Points.

Also, I've created gameplay threads for 6-10 and 6-11. Can you all dot in with your respective characters.
Karrion, Tiaburn: who of you is going to do which scenario?
Pedwiddle, Lithrac: I see there's some interest in the orphan's lodge for Slave Master's mirror. We can make arrangements similar to what we've done for Slave Ships, perhaps?
