Is that as hard as you can swing?

Too much stream for you?

Is that as hard as you can swing? Says Golgotha's first victim... =)
If they don't get some stuff added for the refining/crafting or change the mobs much, I would dearly love to watch a little HAWT group on group PVP action sometime in the next round of streams. It needn't be based on the political divisions here, either.

Is that as hard as you can swing? Says Golgotha's first victim... =) I had to hurry up and be first at something. I had to work so I was hours late to playing the game, and all of the interesting world firsts had already been claimed.

So, should we schedule the first skirmish of Blefuscu, in which Golgothans fight for the big end and Phaerites fight for the little end?
Im pretty sure a group of cleric archers would be able to burst each other down with how much damage bows seem to do.
I think that they could run out of burst stamina swapping shots and healing. I don't know what would happen after that.
any chance we can get a compilation of alpha twitch links?
Isn't T7V doing exactly that? Or did Nihimon hijack the site to only show pictures of him again?
http://khaiognos.org/Website/index.php?streams/
It only shows streams that are live, but there's a "multiview" option hidden there that made a lot of people happy.
This is a better link
If anyone else wants to have their stream listed on that page, it's easy - just use this form

It needn't be based on the political divisions here, either. My plan is to gather lots of PvP Combat data the next time I'm able to login, which likely will not be while I'm at PaizoCon. Of course, since the goal will be to gather data, I'm not really interested in simple fights to the death; I'd rather stand close enough to be able to see the damage numbers, and apply them methodically without killing my research assistant :)

The TODO for the Alpha testers looks a lot like the feature list. It also looks a lot like work.
Hey look, a youtube channel with some stream highlights!
Some NSFW language, so if you are a sensitive soul, you might want to avoid.
"Arrest that naked man with the bow! He is causing all kinds of trouble!"
Well, some parts of those vids resemble awful lot like a murder simulator.
Some of the character combat animations look a bit rigid imo.

They do. But to be fair, without the persistence of Reputation, the actual results of that behaviour cannot be seen. Reputation is what will force people to behave otherwise (well, that and not wanting to be a jerk). I wasn't able to train after shooting three people. It did not take long for my character to be useless in the long run.
Consider what would happen if I couldn't train any skills, buy any equipment, or store my gear in a bank. I would be able to thread some of it, but that would quickly break due to low durability. Then what? I would have to wait out my low Reputation, or make a new character.
The game punished me hard for behaving that way. Which is a good thing! You just couldn't see the majority of that punishment because of the lack of persistence.
Yeah, that's good information after watching the vids.

Consider (on the flip side) if players (low rep) with many (or sufficient) trained feats still have a very low threshold NPC or player settlement for their banking and some training. They can still be effective at what they do. Ideally there will be droves of increasing volume low exp players coming in (monthly?) that will always be at risk to suffer unduly from some of these players.
I am not saying that will be a problem (way too early) but I do wonder.
If their rep is too low, they won't be allowed in NPC settlements without getting attacked.
Morbis said it during one or more of his streams. Testing the limits in the early alpha is constructive, but engaging in the same behavior in the live game, or even late alpha would be significantly less so.
Right now we know how quick you can make a character suck, how guards can get bugged out, and where they might need to be buffed up. It tells us things we would otherwise not know.

To be clear, the behavior I was exhibiting is not representative of what I expect the game to be, or the behavior that Golgotha would find particularly acceptable. But this is what an Alpha is for. Testing systems. We can't test reputation if no one is willing to mess up their reputation.
Actually, I think that what Morbis was doing was VERY useful. It was also obvious that is was not indicative of real game play. I don't think that anyone believes it is, or they should know better.
It is not really a bad thing that he had some fun at it either. :)

Remember that they will also be expanding the Alpha as they go. From what I have heard, keys will be given out to people already in, and they can invite friends.
So go make bestest best friends with someone already in, and hope!

-Lisa Did you mean to put the 's' in months? Just curious. Alpha will take as long as it takes.
Once more into the fray! Stream is up!
