... Or at least Pathfinder Online's Alpha.
The instructions that were sent to all Alpha players. Lots of good, juicy details included. Enjoy.
(used a free fileshare site. If link dies, PM me and I'll add a new one. It probably won't die before there's a v2 anyway!)

I think we actually got a recent fix in (post document writing) so keyboard steering is no longer difficult. It used to have inertia to it, so you'd continue turning for a moment after you released the keys (which nobody thought was awesome).
Mouse turning can still be a little unwieldy if you're making sharp turns, as it actually takes the model a moment to physically turn, rather than instantly following the mouse. It will also weirdly turn the avatar in the opposite direction you turned the camera if you make a turn that's over 180 degrees, because it decides that's faster to get to where you're actually facing.

Do you intend to fix this? I was hoping to use mouse turning but this sound like this makes it a bad idea.

Full Alpha Report coming soon, but on the mouse-move it's not that bad. It just takes a bit to realize what's going on and adapt. The big problem I had was when I lagged crossing Hex boundaries (which on day one of Alpha was still better than crossing chunk boundaries in Vanguard after 6 years of being live) where the model would sometimes spin in unexpected directions.
Stephen, any plans to let the model instantly turn when using mouse-move?

I got a "403 - access forbidden" message when I tried to download from the OP link.
Tried in FF and Chrome (latest.)

Odd. I think it would be your firewall, if you have one. The OP link still works for me. Regardless, here's a Dropbox link. I may eventually take this one down, so no guarantee on it after a few months.

Also, it needs to be khaiognos.org/Website, until Valkenr makes it a little more rational.
Hrm, maybe I need to clear my caches...

Is this document still valid as a reference, or has it been replaced by a newer version or reference source?
(Cant DL the link file, and Dakcenturi link is dead.)

In Fallen Earth, when playing a melee, and you charged (not an ability) your opponent your inertia would take you slightly passed your opponent. You then made a quick pivot and you could engage in combat.
Visually, I lived this, it gave a sense of speed and "movie-style" exaggerated action. Sometimes minor glitches have more benefit than if they get fixed, is what I'm saying.

Got to agree, player skill is not always about perfect rotation or knowledge of game mechanics.
Reminds me of when I would time my lag and play my tank 3.2 seconds in the past in old EQ (on dialup, natch)1-1000, 2-1000, 3-1000, Bash
1-1000, 2-1000, 3-1000 Taunt
good times ; )
