These campaign paths are awesome! Thanks for the effort that went into laying these out. We're playing the Season 4 campaign in our CORE campaign and it's been a lot of fun so far.

There wouldn't happen to be an all-absalom list possible now, would there? Or an all-city/sewer list? This time it's more for purchasing as a GM.

Well the Absalom request is easy at least http://paizo.com/pathfinder/adventureFinder/byRegion/absalom. At least I hope that helps.

I love this post and I'm favoriting it, but wasn't there one that used Adventure paths too...

I'm trying to map out one using season 4 and Rise of the Runelords...I have a character that is a Sloth Mage (Thassilonion Conjurer from running the adventure that unlocks it) and the idea is, in his mind, is to replace Krune and take down Karzug....or that's the plan at least.

+1 to this. I thought it had already been done, but when I searched I couldn't find it, so I guess not.

I have yet to run/play any of season 6, but I though I have a crack at this in preparation.

The season 0/1 scenarios used are pretty much the left overs from the OP, so they may not be completely ideal.

Season 6 - Year of the Sky Key:

1st Level:
6-10 The Wounded Wisp
6-01 Trial by Machine
6-05 Slave Ships of Absalom

2nd Level:
6-06 Hall of the Flesh Eaters
6-08 The Segang Expedition
6-15 The Overflow Archives

3rd Level:
24 Decline of Glory
37 The Beggar's Pearl
6-99 True Dragons of Absalom Not sure on the availability of this one, and I'm assuming the chronicle is for levels 3-5.

4th Level:
6-12 Scions of the Sky Key, Part 1 - On Sharrowsmith's Trail
6-14 Scions of the Sky Key, part 2 - Kaava Quarry
6-16 Scions of the Sky Key, Part 3 - The Golden Guardian

5th Level:
3 Murder on the Silken Caravan
6-18 From Under Ice
6-22 Out of Anarchy

6th Level:
6-02 The Silver Mount Collection
6-09 By Way of Bloodcove
6-11 The Slave Master's Mirror

7th Level:
6-98 Serpents Rise Unsure on availability
6-19 Test of Tar Kuata
26 Lost at Bitter End

8th Level:
6-03 The Technic Siege
6-07 Valley of the Veiled Flame
6-17 Fire of Karamoss

9th Level:
6-21 Tapestry's Toil
16 To Scale the Dragon
27 Our Lady of Silver

10th Level:
6-04 Beacon Below
6-13 Of Kirin and Kraken
6-20 Returned to Sky

11th Level:
6-23 The Darkest Abduction
32 Drow of the Darklands
28 Lyrics of Extinction

** spoiler omitted **

Looks pretty cool, though there are a few I would adjust for difficulty (i.e. really deadly low or high), if you don't mind, I'll take a shot at adjusting it some (and linking some older scenarios in that fit for various reasons), though I think it definitely works your way. (I've played or run all but 1 season 6 scenario, that are currently available)

Season 6:

1st Level: (evergreens)
5-08 The Confirmation
Masters of the Fallen Fortress or We Be Goblins (probably)
6-10 The Wounded Wisp

2nd Level:
6-05 Slave Ships of Absalom
6-08 The Segang Expedition
6-15 The Overflow Archives

3rd Level:
6-22 Out of Anarchy
5 Mist of Mwagi or 35 Voice in the Void (for link to Nigel/Museum)
6-99 True Dragons of Absalom Not sure on the availability of this one, and I'm assuming the chronicle is for levels 3-5.

4th Level: (easily could be done earlier, but I'd try and play these in high tier)
6-12 Scions of the Sky Key, Part 1 - On Sharrowsmith's Trail
6-14 Scions of the Sky Key, part 2 - Kaava Quarry
6-16 Scions of the Sky Key, Part 3 - The Golden Guardian

5th Level:
6-01 Trial by Machine
6-18 From Under Ice
6-06 Hall of the Flesh Eaters

6th Level:
6-19 Test of Tar Kuata
6-09 By Way of Bloodcove
6-11 The Slave Master's Mirror

7th Level:
6-98 Serpents Rise Unsure on availability
6-02 The Silver Mount Collection
4-21 Way of the Kirin (link to 6-13, not really sequels but related theme/location)

8th Level:
6-03 The Technic Siege
5-13 Weapon in the Rift (cool scenario by same author 6-17)
6-07 Valley of the Veiled Flame

9th Level:
6-21 Tapestry's Toil
5-03 Hellknights Feast (Cheliax/A character that appears in 2 other season 6 scenarios)
6-17 Fire of Karamoss

10th Level:
6-04 Beacon Below
6-13 Of Kirin and Kraken
6-23 The Darkest Abduction (not out yet, so I don't know how cool it is, if it relates to things etc.)

11th Level:
2-18 The Forbidden Furnace of Forgotten Koor (Geniekin)
40 Hall of Drunken Heroes (just cool)
6-20 Returned to Sky (feels like a good end cap to season 6, there may be better)

Obviously this could be re-ordered, if I did I could probably find a better connected story than Hall of Drunken Heroes to push some content back a bit, and Jack Amy's list works as well (and in fact pulls content from fewer seasons), but that's my take at least.

Overall Suggested Path - Rise of the Rune Lords + Season 4

Spoiler:

Level 1: Murder's Mark (module)
Level 2: 4-01 Rise of the Goblin Guild, 4-07 Severing Ties, 4-15 The Cyphergate Dilema
Level 3: 4-02 In Wrath's Shadow, 4-05 The Sanos Abduction, 4-19 The Night March of Kalkamedes
Level 4: Rise of the Runelords Part 1 - Burnt Offerings
Level 5: Rise of the Runelords Part 2 - The Skinsaw Murders
Level 6: [FILL], 4-14 My Enemy's Enemy, 4-23 Rivalry's End
Level 7: 4-03 The GolemWorks Incident, 4-06 The Green Market, 4-17 The Irongate Watch
Level 8: 4-22 Glories of the Past Part 1, 4-24 Glories of the Past Part 2, 4-25 Glories of the Past Part 3
Level 9: Rise of the Runelords Part 3 - The Hook Mountain Massacre
Level 10: 4-04 King of the Storval Stairs, 4-08 The Cultist's Kiss, 4-10 The Feast of Sigils
Level 11: 4-12 The Refuge of Time, 4-20 Words of the Ancients, 4-26 Thie Waking Rune
Level 12: Academy of Secrets (module)
Level 13: Rise of the Runelords Part 4 - Fortress of the Stone Giants
Level 14: Tomb of the Iron Medusa (module)
Level 15: Rise of the Runelords Part 5 - Sins of the Saviors
Level 16: Rise of the Runelords Part 6 - The Spires of Xin-Shalast

There is one scenario to fill somewhere. This can be done at level 2-3 or level 6. (If done at level 2-3, bump down one of the level 3-7 mods currently at level 3 to play at level 6.)

There are plenty of other options to change things up. Some include:
1) Doing a more pathfinder initiation type of intro with First Steps and either Confirmation or Wounded Wisp at level 1 instead of a module.
2) Godsmouth Heresy could be used in place of Murder's Mark at level 1
3) Feast of Ravenmoor could be played at level 3
4) You could try to mix shattered star in. This makes things extremely AP heavy, and there are timing things to work out since shattered star takes place after RotR, but we are already playing with timing a bit by mixing season 4 with RotR. (This option makes things crowded at low to mid levels, but gives more options at high level.)

How dare you insult my masterpiece! :D

Though genuinely, thanks for the input. The first thing I noticed was that you've moved 6-01 & 6-06 to tier 4-5. I take it these are particularly challenging at 1st level, I don't suppose you could expand on that?

I also like that use of a season 6 scenario as the cap, so I'll shuffle my list for that.

At a glance, you could mix it up even further by shuffling in Jade Regent as well as shattered star to take a character to 19th via APs alone.

Grand Lodge 5/5

At least one of the two has some Hardness that I felt low tier had more trouble dealing with than in the higher tier. (Both are challenging at either tier IMO, but I distinctly remember less complaints about mechanics in the high tier than the low) The other one has a fairly nasty death effect that again is maybe more easily handled in the higher tier. (Sharrowsmith series is pretty easy and could be done much lower but I left it high due to an item that only appears on the high tier list)

Jade Regent strays thematically a bit more though. Although it starts in Varisia, it's really a Tien campaign. Shattered Star, Rise of the Runelords, and Season 4 all follow themes of Runelords and Thassalonians, so themetically they fit together really well, even though you have to take some liberties with some timelines to fit them together.

Definitely dotting this for future reference.

Grand Lodge 4/5

I have a question for those who have been putting down the list of adventures. Why is it that The Confirmation and The Wounded Wisp are put down interchangeably? I've ran and played both, and it seems that it would essentially only have one route if you're purposely planning them in a particular order. You can absolutely play them in any order for random PFS plays though. I'm just curious.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I don't know about everyone, but some people like to think of it as you get a couple of 'almost real missions' before you actually graduate. So they do something like Wounded Wisp, MoFF, then Confirmation. To them you aren't a really a PFS member until you are 2nd level.

{shrug}

Grand Lodge 4/5

Got a request. Anyone think they can do up a campaign path that almost entirely focuses around the Blackros Museum?

Thanks a lot for these lists. I'm looking forward to running them.

I have already started a Season 5 Campaign Path, here on the Play by Post forums. Was wondering if someone could help me with the non-Season 5 scenario choices.

So VanceMadrox lists Echoes of the Everwar, Part 1-4 to be played in this Season 5 campaign path... but it seems unconnected to Season 5 in any way?

To be fair on him, I've not read the scenarios and am purely going by the blurbs and wiki information.

But they take place in Skull Hill, the Hold of Belkzen. Not too far from the Worldwound. They also seem to focus on orcs, undead and not demons.

Is there anything connecting these 4 scenarios to the Season 5 metaplot or themes; demons, gaining allies for the war, finding the Sky Citadel or anything of the sort?

Silver Crusade 5/5

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I think they're mainly in there to get the party to the next level. Since there aren't enough scenarios to take someone from one to twelve in season five he put some padding in with those scenarios. If you wanted to replace them with things more in place with season five, you could go for the other two "of the Fiend" scenarios (Fingerprints and Fury) as well as the Sarkorian Prophecies (sends characters into the worldwound, goes somewhat against season five for reasons I won't get into here). Alternatively Blackros Matrimony and Storming the Diamond Gate tie into season five as well.

Thanks for the clarification. My problem with the "of the Fiend" scenarios is that they are both in the 7-11 range, of which there are a lot of Season 5 scenarios already.

Sarkorian Prophecies is actually one I had considered, but as you say there is a continuity error. Easy to fix mostly with just changing the VC who hands out the mission... but not sure how legal that is in PFS play. I mean, you could literally just change the name and description to another VC and it would change none of the plot. Just gets rid of the timey-wimey issues.

Storming the Diamond Gate is one I hadn't looked into at all. It would give some context to #5-20 The Sealed Gate. Good call!

Silver Crusade 5/5

1 person marked this as a favorite.

What I was going for was if you wanted to try and run the entire path listed to twelve, if you took out the Echoes of the Everwar series you could fit in the "of the Fiend" series as it fits a bit better with season five.

Regarding Sarkorian Prophecies, I would just remind players that this is a taste of the past, before certain events happen in season five. Depending on your group, it can be a pretty rough scenario, so be advised.

If you run Diamond Gate, I would try to make room for Blackros Matrimony after Diamond Gate, as they both lead up a bit to Vengeance at Sundered Crag.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Oh I see, that makes sense.

There actually appears to be a whole interconnected plot between both the Blakros arc and the Zarta arc, ending with Vengeance at Sundered Crag.

It's rather spartan in cases though, so not all of the missions would be required. #3-07 Echoes of the Overwatched could clearly be skipped, even though it's part of the Blakros arc, as it basically does nothing to develop the story other than throw more Blakros names at the players.

The same is true for Mists of the Mwangi, Voice in the Void and Echoes of the Overwatched.

The Penumbral Accords clearly leads into Blakros Matrimony however.

The Zarta arc with The Disappeared and Fortress of the Nail seems to also fit well, as it continues to involve Zarta, who has connections to the 'bag guy' later on.

Spoiler:

Tancred Desimire

I've got a list of scenarios to run now;

It is every single Season 5 scenario other than The Paths We Choose and Siege of the Diamond City, which makes 25 of our 33 required scenarios.

Plus; The Wounded Wisp, The Penumbral Accords, Storming of the Diamond Gate, The Blakros Matrimony, The Disappeared, Fortress of the Nail, Fingerprints of the Fiend and Fury of the Fiend.

This is our required 33 scenarios.

Now I just need to figure out the best order to run them in, both in terms of timeline issues and keeping the players from travelling all over the world every mission (So grouping Absalom missions if possible, grouping Worldwound missions, etc.)

Are there any obvious orders of scenarios that I should be aware of? Obviously Destiny of the Sands and the 'of the Fiend' scenarios are easy to place next to each other... but what about the rest?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Ah looking at it, Fate of the Fiend doesn't work with Fingerprints of the Fiend and Fury of the Fiend, if you also want to run #5-24 Assault on the Wound with the

Spoiler:

golems it provides.

I have no idea why Assault on the Wound has such a low level max tier. It makes it so you end up getting allies for the war, after the war is over... for example

#5-24 Assault on the Wound - Tier 3-7

#5-05 The Elven Entanglement - Tier 7-11
#5-17 Fate of the Fiend - Tier 7-11
#5-10 Where Mammoths Dare Not Tread - Tier 7-11
#0-22 Fingerprints of the Fiend - Tier 7-11
#2-10 Fury of the Fiend - Tier 7-11
#5-17 Fate of the Fiend - Tier 7-11

It's only possible to do 2 of them, and then run Assault on the Wound as the final level 7 mission. So you can only get 2 of the 4 unique troops provided by the aforementioned scenarios. Plus only the troops from Fate of the Fiend if you don't run the two prior scenarios, because otherwise you'd have 4 missions needing to be run at level 7.

It also means you have to somehow fill out 12 more scenarios after the Pathfinder Society actually gets to Jormurdun. That just seems insane. They have no little need to gather more troops, so what else are they supposed to be doing - or rather which scenarios?

Grand Lodge 4/5

Well, you could always do 7th level on slow instead of normal, so you could get 5 7-11s in before Assault.

Of course, you would then need another 3 scenarios added into the mix, to cover the 6-for-3 for the slow level.

It is supposed to represent other pathfinders finding allies for you. (as you have access to any of the armies that any of your characters have recruited) It also gives the mid-level agents an essential task while the high level agents are engaged in Vengeance at Sundered Crag at the same time as Assault on the Wound.

I'm trying to do this, but with the Blakros scenarios.
There's a few bits where I need to insert scenarios to get the characters enough sheets to make the jump from one scenario to the next.
Anybody try this before?

This is what I've got so far...

Season/ Name/ Levels
0-5 The Mists of Mwangi 1-5
1-35 Voice in the Void 1-7
2-11 The Penumbral Accords 1-5
3-07 Echoes of the Overwatched 1-5
[Scenario Needed Here]
4-09 The Blakros Matrimony 3-7
5-14 Day of the demon 3-7
[4 Scenarios Needed Here]
5-03 The Hellknights Feast 5-9
5-23 Cairn of Shadows 5-9
6-02 The Silver Mount Collection 3-7

That's actually a really clever solution. Sadly I'm not sure how likely it is to convince players to dip into the slow track for a full level like this.

Perhaps, depends on the playerbase for my PbP campaign I guess - a long way off yet! :)

Oh I see, so it is kind of meant as a lower level season finalé, with Vengeance at Sundered Crag being the higher level finalé?

That's the path I would take it, and probably try to sneak in The Disappeared and Fortress of the Nail for good measure. That would set you up for something to do at higher levels, depending on how high of a level you take your players.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

That's a great suggestion, in fact if you are going to do that, you could focused the campaign around the Blakros family, the Desimire family, and Season 5.

MAJOR Spoilers for Season 5:

One of major villains for Season 5 is Tancred Desimire. His brother Aglorn Desimire is the villain of #3-25 Storming the Diamond Gate which was also mentioned. It is a two part series, the first of which doesn't mention the Desimire's at all. Easy to drop this one if you don't want to run both.

Aglorn is involved in the following scenarios;
#3-14 Wonders in the Weave - Part II; Snakes in the Fold - Introduces Aglorn as an enemy, via a letter from him found on the body of Durra, an Aspis Consortium enemy of the mission.

#3-25 Storming the Diamond Gate - Aglorn is tracked down and killed by the players.

Tancred is involved in the following scenarios;

#4-09 The Blakros Matrimony - The players shouldn't know he is evil at this point, but should know his brother Aglorn was involved with the Aspis Consortium and slain by them in Storming the Diamond Gate.

#4-11 The Disappeared - Someone has had Zarta arrested, which they uncover towards the end of the scenario to be Tancred.

#4-13 Fortress of the Nail - The players go free Zarta, and find out at the end that the Chelish Queen has placed a bounty on Tancred's head.

#5-14 Day of the Demon - Players find conclusive proof that Tancred is evil. This is why he tried to mess up the Blakros Matrimony!

#5-22 Scars of the Third Crusade - Annoyingly the players have no way of finding this out, but it is Tancred who let loose the mass murder of this scenario. Easily one to drop if necessary.

#5-09 The Traitor's Lodge - Incriminates Thrul, already assumes that Tancred is known to be a demonologist from Day of the Demon.

#5-24 Assault on the Wound - Mass combat scenario, where Thrul and Tancred are throwing armies at the Pathfinders to slow them down. Mentions that other higher level Pathfinders are already hunting the pair down. One to drop if you like.

#5-25 Vengeance at Sundered Crag - The players find and bring to justice Thrul and Tancred.

Phew! That's 10 scenarios that involve the Desimire's. Of which 2 directly relate to the Blakros Family (Blakros Matrimony and Day of the Demon). This brings the total up to 18 missions involving the Blakros family and the Desimire family.

My players just gave me a tall order. I told them about the Campaign Paths, and so far three of them are interested in three of them: Mummy's Mask and Skulls & Shackles by Mike Bramnik, and Rise of the Runelords by Robert Thomson. However, they'd like to do the Carrion Crown campaign before all of them.

Going over the chronicle, it reads as thus:
Haunting Part of Harrowstone (2-4)
Trail of the Beast (6–8)
Broken Moon (7-9)
Wake of the Watcher (9-11)
Ashes at Dawn (11–13)
Shadows of Areas Gallowspire (13-15)

What would you guys put in there? I haven't don't that many undead scenarios so I'm not sure what I could put in there. I've heard that Season 0 and 1 had a number of undead, as well as one or two evergreens have undead in them.

What would you guys put in there? I haven't don't that many undead scenarios so I'm not sure what I could put in there. I've heard that Season 0 and 1 had a number of undead, as well as one or two evergreens have undead in them.

I went searching for whatever scenarios had undead in them, and used that to form things up. It won't be as good as the more experienced players and GMs, but this is what I've found so far. They're not in any real order, truthfully.

I am really happy that I found this thread. The ideas here are great. I was thinking of trying to make a campaign around the mysterious disappearance of Durvin Gest, the Scepter of Ages and the Sky Key. However my knowledge of scenarios prior to mid-Season 5 is limited. I am definitely thinking doing: 6-00, 6-12, 6-14, 6-16 and then 6-18 through 6-21. Does Gest pop in anywhere else?

My players just gave me a tall order. I told them about the Campaign Paths, and so far three of them are interested in three of them: Mummy's Mask and Skulls & Shackles by Mike Bramnik, and Rise of the Runelords by Robert Thomson. However, they'd like to do the Carrion Crown campaign before all of them.

Going over the chronicle, it reads as thus:
Haunting Part of Harrowstone (2-4)
Trail of the Beast (6–8)
Broken Moon (7-9)
Wake of the Watcher (9-11)
Ashes at Dawn (11–13)
Shadows of Areas Gallowspire (13-15)

Updated version for Carrion Crown. All spaces are filled. If anyone thinks the order should be placed differently, by all means change it up. This just worked for me as I've played the majority, and I know a few of them can be extremely difficult.

Thank you all for this thread! I'm now looking it over for ideas for a PFS home campaign.

I'm hoping that when the Giant Slayer series is converted, that we'll somehow be able to do that one too.

Dotting for future reference.

I'm trying to persuade my home group to start a PFS campaign. They're relatively newish to PF and have never played PFS, so I've got the full range of scenarios to use to introduce them to the Society. If they bite, I'll try to construct a path that leads to Eyes of the Ten while hitting some (metaplot-compatible) Society favorites and scenarios from later seasons. Suggestions welcome. (This wouldn't start till January or February, so it's not an urgent project.)

FWIW, I just kicked off a recruitment thread for one of the campaigns here.

Once season seven is over, an "occult" campaign might be called for... Seven has lots of overtly occult stuff, but there's lots of older scenarios that touch on occult themes, such as Voice in the Void.

I've got a demon-related one in mind that I should have up in a few days - hopefully will be good for people who wish they could play Wrath of the Righteous (like me, if I could find someone to GM it so I could play...)

Would love to see these if they were posted (I thought they were and cannot for the life of me find them). As we're having to delve into Core-- would love to make a few arcs like this for the PCs.

P.s. you still have an open invite for Wrath... even if we have to come to you to run. :D

You guys may or may not be the best people to ask about this, but I was wondering if anyone had some kind of list of all the underground and drow or duergar scenarios. This can include the 4-5 star ones too. I know of the Drow of the Darklands Pyramid, but that's about it. I think a season ender scenario had drow or duergar in it. Just remember that there were ruins.

Going off of memory here.

For Kevin:
4-22 Halls of Dwarven Lore and 4-25 The Secrets Stones Keep are underground dwarven styled scenarios, if nor duergar forcused.

6-00 Legacy of the Stonelords is the season ender you are thinking of.

6-21 Tapestry's Toil features duergar quite well. I think 8-03 Captives of Toil will be a sequel, spiritual or otherwise.
