Golgotha, and the War of the Towers

The War of the Towers has changed things for everyone involved in the Land Rush. Before this announcement, it was generally expected that groups would have a chance to get on their feet before the territory control game started. We now know that isn't going to be the case, and Golgotha is primed to take advantage of that fact.

Golgotha is the largest group within the Land Rush that has a publicly stated goal of aggressive expansion, but that doesn't mean that we are going to be stupid about that expansion. Golgotha will take what we can hold. The developers have stated that our ability to train our citizens will be dependent on how many towers we can claim, and we intend to act with that at the forefront of any decision.

We will push our influence across the map, forcing others to accept our manifest destiny of outright, lawful domination. By creating a bastion of unparalleled military strength, we will raise up the entirety of the River Kingdoms by the merit of our example. We will show the community that playing evil is not only viable, but preferable. We will be living proof that being evil and being griefers does not have to go hand in hand. The principles of Wheatons Law run deep in our philosophical core.

Our central position guarantees our ability to project our military force to all four corners of the map. No other large settlement in the current political environment can make as strong a claim to that ability as Golgotha. If a towers PvP window opens up, Golgotha alone is in a singular position to march on it, no matter its location. Mastery of a game comes through constant practice, and Golgotha will provide that to every single one of our willing citizens. We have the opportunity to create the most battle hardened force in the game, and we intend to exploit that opportunity to its fullest.

While military expansion is our primary focus, that doesn't mean that our diplomatic corps have been standing by the wayside. Our relentless pursuit of mutually beneficial agreements with our neighbors has already born fruit. No matter which role you intend to play in Early Enrollment, Golgotha will be able to provide you both Training and Support through our nearby friends. Our lands will be safe from those best positioned to attack us, our non-aggression pacts guaranteeing our citizens ability to roam close to home without fear of being harassed.

No matter your needs, Golgotha will be there, ready and willing to help. Don't wait until Early Enrollment to make a decision. Make the smart choice. Join Golgotha today

Speaking in the role of my private self, not on behalf of any group or other person (like I normally do, but in this case it bears emphasizing).

Challenge accepted.

You accepted our recruitment challenge?

We would love to have you as a recruit Decius.

So it sounds a lot like you guys are pretty much Hellknights.

Goblin Squad Member

A pretty apt comparison. We just have a bit more love of necromancy then the Hellknights do.

Goblin Squad Member

So more like the HellCorpse

Well, there's always the Order of the Crux... one of the minor Hellknight orders 'destroyed' in the purge of 4663. Except that the leaders then came back as graveknights and began 'recruiting' other undead. However, they're localized to the Nidal/Molthune border.

If Pharasma is offering 'get out of death free' cards in the RK, it becomes an ideal training ground for resurrecting (reanimating?) the order. New living members can experience death but come back to continue training, building a stronger foundation of mortal power before going on to become graveknights, liches, etc. once the resurrections run out.

Is Golgotha planning to focus on fighter & wizard training during the WoT period?

We plan on training Wizard and clerics in WOT. But with the support of some friends we will provide training for every "class" and craft.

Nice Tower!!

I'll take it!!

Goblin Squad Member

Hey Xeen, After you take that one, want to help me take this one? Attack anyone who comes near right outside the hex :D

I'm with the Empire of Xeilias already, though I was planning to live in Callambea before this WoT thing, and I'm locked in there for the landrush.

Golgotha all the way! woooooo

I look forward to battling your forces. The strategist in me would like to point out one tiny detail you may have overlooked. Golgotha is on a plateau with only three passes to get to the lowlands. Two of those passes are close to other settlements, which might make using them risky at best, or impossible at worst. So while the limited passes will control your enemies' access to the plateau, it also can bottle you up fairly quickly when your enemies can blockade your only routes to the lowlands...

To mimic this point and really drive it home: Who is near us that has the ability to stop us?

If your policy is aggressive expansion, you shouldn't be thinking in singular terms. You are probably going have several settlements working together against you. And if you are threatening everyone around you, it won't just be us LG types you'll need to worry about.

Goblin Squad Member

Meh. See you on the battlefield I guess.

Goblin Squad Member

Golgotha is well aware of the tactical implications of our settlement choice.

Goblin Squad Member

Wot? No we ain't! Deres no "imp- li- ca- shuns", we just like id in da mowntinz cuz deres no stupid bunnies up 'eer. Hoppin arownd. Gettin inta yer stuff. Slaughterin left an right, makin a bloody mess when yer tryin to get sum sleep.

Are you openly declaring you and your group an enemy of Golgotha?

Except not. You have to take the Passes to get up into the mountains but to get down you can just jump off. They will Rain Death.

I am no one's enemy until they attack me or my allies. If your aggressive expansion entails that, then we will cross swords.

Goblin Squad Member

Golgotha will play the game as intended. With every ounce of what that entails.

If you think you will just cross swords with the Lord Regent, I think you may be mistaken. I have devils, undead, and assassins that come into play long before my greatsword. ;)

Yeah, boss, but hims got bunnies. Maybe us should stop an fink abowt dis a minnit... nah, skah dat, dem bunnies nub gonna stop uz!

As someone who was turned off by the high PvP this game was heading... I'm starting to regret not backing the kickstarter from this thread...

Just another Tuesday in the office for a paladin ;)

Just another skeleton to add to the ranks for a Golgothan.

Goblin Squad Member

Fret not, if you are fearful of Golgothan advances into your territory then merely negotiate vassalage under Golgotha. Why would Golgotha attack those that willingly submit to Golgothan Law.
