So, I did something silly and got my very first, full-on character death last Monday.
Sister Kitty Velvetino- Cleric of Calistria, Wielder of Whips, Sacred Dancer of of Poles and Veils, Queen of the Quick Disrobe is dead at the tender age of 8 experience points.
She was a vibrant soul with a lust for life(and other things as well...).
It...was...COOL!!!!
Bisected by a crit with a greatsword! That was amazing! :D
The reason for her discontinued existence was this:
Having neither the gp or pp to save her from such a fate was a little disappointing (8th chronicle in and only 14 fame to her name), but it was bound to happen just from the way I played her that night.(Very poor tactics. I know better then to try and play when I'm tired/feeling off that day).
*shrugs* She will be missed.

Aww, no one else at the table was willing to chip in to help raise you?
Well, at least you had fun with it.
I didn't realize that could be done.
*Gp wise yes, I don't think they could have donated pp*I think if anyone could have they would have.
Raise Dead is expensive. Resurrection is even more so.

Many veteran players have 20 or more characters. With ~26 scenarios/season, a total of 6 seasons so far, plus modules, and replayables, multiplied by two if you decide to GM them all, it is quite possible to retire many characters (I've already retired 4 myself).
Open up your account and make half a dozen, or more, or less. Put them through some replayable scenarios, like First Steps, or The Confirmation, maybe play them through Thornkeep: Accursed Halls, so they can get to level 2.
You have lots of options.
