The aforementioned Goalith Mutant
So I'm working on a creature for my homegame that is a hulking mutant rat humanoid that is deployed by ratfolk crews scavenging the surface world. The thing is meant to be the custom bred and designed killing machine designed for shredding targets in melee and drawing attention while ratfolk either engage at range, stealthily assault, or escape. Unfortunately they do have flaws in their design and are prone to mental instability if their fractured minds are addled too much.
Currently my biggest hurdle is trying to figure out what mutations I should give them from the new mutant template and trying to figure out if this fits into a CR 3-4.
Any help people can give is greatly appreciated. As stated above I'm really trying to figure out which mutations from the new mutant template fit the best for this hulking monster and its gear and skill points still haven't been placed yet. With that in mind though ready to receive comment and critique.

Have you considered just re skinning a troll?
Maybe but I'm not really thinking regen so much as genetically accelerated healing and hand crafted mutation that is still not perfect and leads to "instabilities" in it's design.
To be more clear I wanted something mechanically that is big, mean, and predatory but I don't really want it to grow back limbs and things.
That being said I started with an Ogre as the base and started building from there.

1. I think you're maybe looking for the word "Goliath," not "goalith."
2. What is the "new mutant" template? Presumably it should be fairly easy to start with a standard ratfolk and then add this template and maybe some NPC class levels until you hit the desired CR.
1. Goliath is correct thanks man the spell checker apparently didn't catch that the first time.
2. The Mutant template is a new template out of the Numeria supplement. Basically it is an acquired template that victims get sometimes after prolonged exposure to radiation. As for just slapping it on a ratfolk I could but it would still leave them small, stealthy creatures which is kind of not what I'm going for with a Rat Goliath. I want a monster that is as big as an ogre and is like the berzerker in gears of war. Its quiet and stealthy until you find each other and then this rippling, oily, furred horror screams and comes barreling at you, clawing and biting and rending your party apart while the ratfolk who unleashed it enfilade you with arrows, rush up to shank you from behind, or retreat to safety.

In keeping with Pathfinder style, make them barbarians, as opposed to monster levels. You want them to attack the nearest target, as if they own a cursed great sword of rage.
Are you referring to my leveled mutations, or do I have competition?
I like it better as a monster. This hulking horror that some ratfolk have crafted through breeding and radiation exposure to be the meaty physical arm and bodyguard of their exploration teams when they go out to scavenge a sight. Something that is big and terrifying, obvious and fearless as opposed to the ratfolks tiny, terrified, and stealthy approach to engaging problems. Doing it as a monster helps drive home that it was crafted and bred for its role rather than trained in a class with a trainer and tutor. Not saying I couldn't slap some levels on one later but the base models would just be monsters.

So then apply the Giant simple template from the Bestiary. Although it's technically not allowed, you could apply it twice to make the ratfolk Large instead of Small.
